You know you're a true crafter when you use supplies meant for completely different crafts on your project 😂 Yes I spotted that cricut tool!
That’s how we do it! 👏🏼👏🏼 I wanna buy more burnishing tools because it’s been helpful for so many things 😂😂
@@tinalemac so do I! I’m going to my local stuff store to buy loads of art supplies soon! I’m really exited 😂
I’m learning. And I have a whole lot more to learn.
YES
I use paint scrapers to model my clay!
I'm am artist who's used clay for 15+years and I totally support 100% of this video. Super good simple collection of pretty much all of the necessary tricks to get handbuilding ☆♡ awesome. 👌
what tools should i get?

@Shreya Binoy why not it’s not like it’s gonna kill him 💀
How much do you make annually as a clay artist?
Such a relief to find someone straight to the point. No filler, just good essential information all the way. Thanks!
Yaaay! We don't have to be confused about the mysteries of air-dry clay anymore!!!
Hahaha! Yes so many tricks to make a beautiful piece 😍
ok, you are an excellent teacher!! not many people have that ability to communicate so clearly and thoroughly to the clueless! xo
Oh my gosh right!??
As one of the clueless, I agree! 😅 Thanks for the great, concise but detailed video!
Please make captions available it’s really hard to watch this video and understand as a hearing disabled person :c
Can we take a moment to appreciate how cool her nails look ❤❤😍
yesss ikkk
Hehehe, thank you so much! 🥰

I am last minute trying to make miniature clay statues personal to each of my family members as gifts for Christmas... Your video saved me from making every mistake I was on my way to making! Every tip and trick was new to me and I am so grateful and thankful that You took the time to produce such a clear and informative video. You just saved all my projects from being disasters... I can feel it. Thank You so much again for all of your big Help!!
tip: you can use the spinny plate from your microwave as a turntable for smoothing! it's not quite as seamless, and you'll have to find some kind of no-slip table liner or other surface to set it on top of, but it works in a pinch
buying a cake spinner or a spice table that spins works well too! i got one at the dollar store!
Ermm no thanks. If u only have 1 microwave for FOOD consumption, dont try to use it for clay.. u dont mix these 2 things together.. even if u can wash it.
@@Way2go926why? What’s in clay thars that bad if you wash it off?
Totally just bought air dry clay today so I can recreate some of these projects!
This video has been so helpful!!! Also I bought a similar dish from a retailer, but love the one you made so much more. This video is inspiring me to make one of my own now
Oh my gosh ! That cactus trinket tray is super cuteness ! Love it !
Yay thank you for this!!!!! I ran to Walmart to pick up some clay tonight and I just made the cactus dish!!!! It turned out pretty good but I'm excited to learn more and get better!!! Couldn't have done it without this vid
Thank you for the great tutorial, I love watching your videos, especially clay ones, your music choice and your voice are really calming and your projects are fabulous.
This was a great, succinct guide to handbuilding basics. I learned more in this video than I did in a 4-week handbuilding class. Really appreciate this.
Thank you so much for breaking it down, did not know which brand to buy, now I do. Didn't know what slip was, now I do. Luv, luv, luv your videos.
Thank you for your generosity! I am new to clay, so most everything in your vid was invaluable! Oh, thanks for making the world a better place!
I'm glad I found you! I've been wondering why my art was cracking!! Thank you!
I’ve been sculpting for a little over 6 months, and I just found all the answers to my questions in your video!! Thank you 😭
Thanks for all the tips. I've bought some clay but have been too afraid to try it but now am feeling a lot more confident 😍
Yes, your hands are indeed your best tools 😊 This was so useful. Thank you for all your hard work! I need to create my own cactus ring dish!! Love it 😁
Love your videos! I just learned in one of my pottery classes that if you want to use a cookie cutter, put saran wrap over the clay before the cutter. That way it doesn't stick to the clay and it's smoother! :)
I just purchased air dry clay because of you and @lonefox. The first tip that made me breathe easier was the list of tools (stuff I already had.) The tip I appreciated the most is: Going back to smooth out cracks even if it dry. I will be using the clay for preschool crafts and they are so broken hearted when a project has cracks.
This helped so much!! We’ve done a few things with air dry clay in school and at my art school so I wanted to try it at home too, thanks for your tips!
You are so talented Tina! Too scared to try the clay but I absolutely love watching you do it so effortlessly 🌵🥰👏
I loved this video it’s so straight to the point in a captivating way! I learned something and i actually payed attention the whole time😂 i subscribed! Thanks for the help.
You made this video so well. I recently made little clay fruits basket (anime) figures and they turned out okay but I had to keep glueing parts back on 😅 could’ve used some of these tips when I was doing that but now I’ll know for the future. I took notes and my favorite new tip I learned is probably letting pieces sit for 30 minutes before scoring them so they’re more firm. Thank you 😌
Hey I'm very impressed that you take this clay made for children and teach us how to use it like a professional would. I'm intrigued by this clay and I'm buying some this week. Thank you so much for your work
Thanks for the tips and tricks! I will put it to good use since I’m going to be starting to do an air dry clay project in no time👌🏼
I have been seeing a lot of DIY air dry clay in TIKTOK but I struggle on starting my own because there are no instructions included.
I’m so grateful to find your youtube channel because you have this types of videos that I have been looking for. Really helpful and inspiring! All the love from 🇵🇭 ❤️
These tips and techniques were so helpful! I love you vids so much Tina 😊
I've been wanting to get into a new art medium to help me get out of my artist's funk, and I bought some clay but wasnt sure exactly what I wanted to make with it. Thank you for giving me some inspiration and helpful tips n teicks!
Great video! Did a project last night, and opened your video for a refresher on Air-Dry Clay before starting, (but ended up just jumping-in.) Glad I still watched it because your video is kind of motivating.
tysm you lifesaver!! I wanted to pick up a new hobby, and this helped me so much ❤. you're also so good at explaining all this, I understood it all perfectly!
This is so helpful tina
Super cute!!! You were the second "how to" video and I found it so useful!! I'm excited to try this cactus dish next. Today I got a little nutty and covered the bottom of a Gatorade bottle to make a vase.. maybe. My question is- how do I remove the dried clay from my Gatorade bottle without destroying it?? Or is that even possible- I'm a newbie at sculpting but enjoy all mediums from painting canvas to wire sculptures and I'm anxious to add the air dry clay to my list. Thanks so much for taking the time to read my post and I look forward to your response!
Happy creating!!
I just had the urge to try out creating with air dry clay, so I'm super thankful for this video! I feel like it really set me up for success as a beginner! Ty :)
Just what I needed! I just got a tub of air dry clay and I want to learn some tips on how to get the best results using clay. Thank you for these tips! You are such an inspiration. ❤️😊
That answered all my questions for a beginner. I was about to do a big project, so that really helps, thank youuu
Thank u thank u I’ve been working with clay for like a month! This will help me so much
Thanks for the tips! I made a few clay dishes for my family for Christmas! I put those dishes in the sun since I thought it would dry faster but now I won’t do that anymore!! Thanks again 😊
I’m so happy I found this video! I used to work with “regular” clay that you fire for ceramics years ago. I can’t afford my own kiln and know no one with one now that I’m interested again. And I had heard from someone that you cannot use ANY water when working with air dry clay (ex making a slip). I’m glad I saw this video that says otherwise 😄
Thank you so much! My clay cracks so idk what to do, it made me stop with clay because I would get so frustrated, but after this, this vid was SO SO helpful! Now I want to do clay again!!
Wow! This video cleared most of my doubts. Thanks Tina❤️
I’m just getting started and I really appreciate your clear and concise advice here. Looking forward to watching more and learning. Happy new subscriber 😊🫶
Thorough explanation, simply amazing! I love the way you explained! Thank you so much 😊
I'm new to clay and needed these tips to get started. Thank you and your cactus too❣
So glad I came across your page. Bought air dry clay this past weekend and made a few basic pieces. Waiting for them to dry so I can paint :) I'm so glad to see how slip works. Very helpful!
Eek! I wish we could share pictures through here, would be nice so good ideas. Wish me luck.. I will be doing that this week for the first time.

Thanks for talking about air dry clay! I was planning to make a figure in air dry clay so I can use it as shelf decor. ☺️
Thanks for the tips! This is very useful for beginners.
Last night I impulsively ordered some das air dry clay without researching first.
Since a long time I wanted to try make something with clay, my idea was a mug but today I found out we can't use air dry clay for food/drinks. So I'm looking inspiration what to do with the ordered clay haha
Thank you soo much for these tips! I recently tried an air dry clay project which was an epic fail, so this was super helpful!
Really helpful info and the cactus jewelry tray is super cute
It will be my first time using clay and I wanted to check out some videos before using it. I’m so glad I found this! I’m excited to start!
This is so cool! I just made a giant cactus out of clay and I had no idea what I was doing. It is a crackled mess. Lol now I see I should’ve started a lot smaller. I live on a mountain of clay and I just discovered the beauty of what you can do with it. ❤️😃👌🏽
I love the ring clay dish, it's beautiful
Thank you very much!!! I am a new crafter and this video has helped me a lot ❤️
Thank u so much for these tips! U have no idea how much this is gonna help me with my future projects 😅 can’t wait to see some improvement within my skills :)

Hello. My husband and I bought some clay today for our 6 year old. We had so much fun with it. Thanks for your tips😊
The painting tips were super helpful! Also the slip tub!!
i love your videos especially this one, in particular, it really helps ❤️
Thank you for sharing your great tips! I love working with air-dry clay much more than firing ceramics, which I've done. Using a kiln is fun but not as exhilarating as using air-dry clay.
Thank you so much this was a big help now I know what to get next time I go shopping!❤
Thank you so much, this is such a great, informative tutorial with so many helpful tips!
I love the use of the popsicle sticks. I can see where using tape would make them more equal sized between two stackings but I use a glue gun instead making sure it doesn't have a great amount of glue between each layer. Great list of hints and tips.
Thank you soooo much. I needed these tips alotttt. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I tried creating a rim with air dry clay around my diy vase n it was cracking alot. Now i know what i was doing wrong n how to fix it. Thanks alotttt❤️
Learned so much as a beginner..I immediately hit the like and subscribe ..I'll try my best to start with small things first .. Thank you so much ❤
I wish there was a love button. Super helpful video thank you!
This is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO helpful for my art assignment istg. Thanks a whole dang lot!! ❤
Brilliant! I have just completed a six week ceramics course but I've learned more from this video 😅
