I came here to figure out what supplies to buy for a one time clay art girls night, but you did too good of a job and now I'm convinced this will be my new hobby! Subscribed :)
What I love about all your projects is that the finished quality is amazing - even though it’s DIY. You always include tips and tricks to enhance the finishing and your attention to detail is next level, which I find missing in so many other tutorials.
Thank you for the rubbing alcohol tip! I've been struggling to get the final perfecting touch on my clay jewelry! Also you're very patient using craft smart clay, it takes so long to get it workable!
Shoulda watched this before spending time making miniatures lmao. Used sculpey 3 and one of my pieces completely disentigrated. 😭 hoping my little pumpkins hold up, but I'm gonna return the rest for premo or original. 😅 For some tips: I really enjoy working on a ceramic tile for smaller pieces. They don't stick terribly, but they stick enough to give you a solid base. And you can just stick it in the oven with your piece! Secondly, soft pastels are a dream for coloring clay as well. I just rub the stick on sandpaper and pick up the color with the clay and kneed it thru. You can also brush more color on before baking. Works fantastically!
Thanks so much for all the advice. I want to use polymer clay on figurines (Jim shore, etc.) items. A couple questions: what type of paint would you recommend and can I cake the clay onto my pieces in my oven without damaging them? Thanks for the advice!
Been trying to decide what to use and you have helped me make up my mind about Polymer clay. Definitely in love with the wavy bowl and colour is gorgeous. May I ask if I want to make nail art dishes that I can put gel polish or paint on to do nail art I need to be able to clean the excess off with Isopropyl alcohol so what would be the best sealant to use in this case.
Hi! Love your work!. I am getting into clay sculptures, and I did this one as my first piece. It came out amazing, however, when I painted it with acrylic paint, I got some nasty brush stroke marks when it dried. I have not applied the polyurethan yet. How do you avoid the brush strokes? Thanks. in advance, keep up the good work!
I was so inspired by this video! I started looking for a new hobby but couldn't figure out what I wanted to do because I don't want to invest in expensive looms,or canvas or other accessories you need before you begin crating. I started looking at clay yesterday then your video popped up! I will be taking care of my nieces this summer so this is a great craft I can let them be as creative as they wish as well! Thank you for the inspiration!
Thank you for the beginner's tips. My daughter wants to get into polymer clay and this video helps. One of the things I wondered about was when painting, I've seen some miniature painters put poster tack on the bottom of their bases and this provides stability while using your lid to turn the object being painted. It could work here as well. Others use double-sided tape.
This is my first time seeing a video of yours and I have to say I really enjoyed it! I love how you started a project and then used the "bake time" to present other tips before returning back to the project. Great info and very engaging :)
TINA. I just finished a LuckyCat+Pikachu polymer clay gift with video for friends and needed to thank you for this video. I've credited you as one of the gurus that kept me company throughout my noob modeling process and just wanted to MAKE SURE YOU KNOW how much I appreciate you sharing your projects.
This has to be the most fun, informative video I've seen for this type of craft. I know nothing about polymer and this has been very helpful. Thank you!
Oh so cool!! Thank you for your video on your tips and ideas of how to work with polymer clay!! The alcohol on the edges, I love the stone look logs and marble effect.. Also the pencil drawing transferred on the clay..Beautiful bowl!!!
Thank you very much for your video! I saw you just today, and just startet an abonnement. I startet with Polymer clay and I am happy with these tips. Unfortunatdky you do not have a special playlist for Polymer clay only. Could you create one please? Many greetings from Germany! Britta 😘
@@tinalemac yes please! That would make an awesome slash wholesome content! We don't see brian very often in your channel, but he's in every comment section ever leaving cute messages! So having him in a DIY vlog would be so cool.
Thanks so much. I love all the different tips, so resourceful and helpful. It also encouraged me because I have been sculpting with clay and doing creations from ideas I thought up for about 2 Months and saw I have more than basic skill but o boy, the what to do and don'ts are super valuable.
Always great tips and tricks in your videos. I'm starting my Christmas gift making projects now. I always start too late and then the fall holidays really slow me down because I stop to work on fall decor. I'm inspired to pick up some clay and make some of your projects for gifts this year.
Thank you for all the tips and tricks! I found you video very helpful. I love your bowl in both colors. I didn't know about using alcohol to smooth the clay.
I am here in Sydney Australia and we are currently in lockdown for 2 weeks and I have literally hundreds of little packets of polymer clay so this is a big help !!!
Lots of great tips as usual! I like the bowl painted in that beautiful shade of green. Would rubbing alcohol be used on air dry clay also, or just water?
Hey Tina! WOW! you pack A LOT of awesome polymer clay info (and inspo!) into less than 14 1/2 minutes! For storing polymer clay: polymer clay does not play well with coming into direct contact with a lot of plastic containers - put your polymer clay into a basic sandwich baggie or plastic wrap (or those little plastic deli/bakery sheets (you know.....like when you get a donut? ;) before storing the clay in your container. Also, polymer clay is NOT a food-safe plastic - any tools/objects should then become part of your polymer clay kit and NOT be returned to the kitchen.
I always put my open packages into Sandwich baggies. Mostly to keep them from touching and getting different colors on each other. And I’m the type of person who always reuses. So I save the baggies and use them again. No reason to throw them out. And what I mean is I use them for clay not for food storage lol I don’t know if you are into miniatures, but there is a channel called Sweet Mini Dollhouse . She’s amazing! I cannot tell you how many people I follow lol more the merrier! I love learning all I can.
I'm obsessed with all of your DIYS thank you for sharing 🥰 couple questions what are you working on top of.. I tried the acrylic pad and stuck to it and ruined my first project.. parchment paper moves around way to much and is way too noisy (sleeping baby). 2nd: how do u know how thick the clay should be? I want to make measurements but have no idea thick they should be! Thank you xo
Hi Tina! 🙋♀️ Really like the bowl. Surprisingly to me I liked the white version best. Love your palette for your website. Hope you're staying cool in the Summer heat. Hugs & blessings!!! 🌌🏞️🌄🌬️🌼🏵️♥️🏺🖼️🎨🖌️🍶🌱🌿🌳🌴
Are there any circumstances in which using polymer and air together would be okay? Thank you so much for this channel. I’ve been working with polymer clay for several months now and I still learned a ton. I just started with air dry and I can only imagine you’ve saved me tons of money! 💕
Seriously, how did you know I had plans today to break out my polymer clay stash for the first time and get creative? Perfect timing!!!
Omg, that makes me so happy!! Excited for you, have the best time DIYing today 🥰💛

Do you have to keep a separate oven for baking polymer clay?

love it! for the stone veining effect, what do you use for the gold?
Please let me know that the school play clay coming like bars is the same polymer clay. OR tell the composition of polymer clay is made of.
Hii. Can you make plant pot for live plants with polymer clay without a sealer?
I love the sage version. It reminds me of jadite.[sp?] How big of a vessel can you make with that clay? Can you make usable pots for house plants?
the stone clay portion of your video did you put gold flake in the clay? How does that work with the oven baking?
It is metal so not a problem.
Newbie.. how much kneading is needed? Thanks
Love the colour palette! Looks so YOU and also very trendy!
