    I've had mine since 9/22. Same experience as yours. Great truck. The people who are most critical are people who don't own them. Most haven't driven.

    I’ve had my 22 lightning platinum since June 22 and currently have 31,700 miles on it. Best truck I’ve ever owned hands down. I also have a 24 platinum powerstroke and a 22 KR powerstroke and love those…but nothing drives as pleasant and cheaply as my Lightning!

    Also in Toronto great video I needed this. How often would you say you would go to a fast charger and it was offline. I guess you were using Flow and Electrify Canada?

      Most charge stations had multiple units but seems like always 1 or more is down. The line ups could be a pain as well. With a home charger, the good news is you rarely need to outside charge unless you’re doing a long drive.

    Great review!
    Did you pre-condition the truck in winter? (set it up to warm from the app while plugged in?) It heats up the battery and gives you more range in colder temperatures. So you leave with a heated cabin, warmed up battery and full battery.
    Did you ask if a plow version is being planned? From my experience with the Lightning, the slower you go the better the efficiency (under 50mph). Being heavy and instant torque, it has a lot of power and weight behind it.

    • @preferredautoservice
      @preferredautoservice  3 месяца назад +2

      I did use the remote start for winter driving. It’s only an F150 and shares that suspension so I doubt any type of heavy duty plow would work. Possibly a personal plow if you needed that.

  • @sooocheesy

    How much money do you save a month on gas? I know you said $250 every two days so that's about ~$3K/mo assuming you were just doing that on weekdays? That easily covers the payment on the Lightning and then some..

    • @preferredautoservice

      I was spending about $1500 a month on gas with the TRX. Work and back was 100km plus driving around for work when required. Not so much driving on the weekend.

      I have the tow package. I hooked my travel trailer to it (approx 7800 pounds) to see what it would say. At full charge, range was around 258 km (160 miles). I towed the trailer from where it was bought home and it pulled it like it wasn’t even there so these trucks can pull the weight. Just not for long enough to go any distance.

      This was Fords first real endeavor into full electric on this scale. I assume they released before full knowledge on the platform. They were first to mass market for this style and it appears Ram and GM are backing away from it. Ford has stopped production as well. Pretty serious turn about on the EV trucks.

    • @davidmenasco5743
      @davidmenasco5743 Месяц назад

      You've been misled. Nothing involved in the manufacturing of an EV comes anywhere close to the continual, ongoing, massive environmental destruction wrought every day by the oil industry.
      Nothing that goes into an EV, or comes out, is half as toxic as either gasoline or crude oil.
      The leeching, leaks, and spills of oil and gasoline, the flaring of methane, and the periodic dumping of toxic heavy metals by refineries, taken altogether, amount to an environmental disaster that no other industry can touch.

  • @erniebrossart6855

    I always like the part where these guys talk about not using gas or fossil fuel. However, they plug it in at home or at a charging station. Where do these geniuses think the power comes from. If you're liking what this guy is saying you probably don't know, but it comes from fossil fuels. At over $100,000 for the truck, buy an old one and you can buy a lot of gas for $100,000.

    • @davidmenasco5743
      @davidmenasco5743 Месяц назад +5

      You sound very bright. So with such a clever mind, you might be interested to know that:
      A) An electric pickup uses less than half the energy of an ICE pickup to do the same work.
      B) A gas fired power plant produces half the greenhouse gas emissions of a gasoline or diesel engine for the same energy produced.
      C) Coal is rapidly being phased out on account of its being the most expensive energy source and having very high maintenance costs.
      D) Wind and solar energy deployments have been growing rapidly. They already account for a large share of energy generation in North America, and within a few years will be the largest energy source.
      So, for every mile driven, the Lightning produces 1/4 of the greenhouse gas emissions of that old pickup. And with each passing year, the Lightning will get closer to zero emissions from driving.
      Also, Lightnings today are selling for very close to the price of ICE F-150, and in some cases less.

    • @erniebrossart6855
      @erniebrossart6855 Месяц назад

      Remember when your teacher said to you do your homework, well its never to late to start. Lighnings selling for the same price as the F150.. thats because hardly anyone is buying them and the prices are dropping. Electrical vehicles lose there value more than any other vehicle. So, again do your homework. And the best one is that coal plants are being phased out. Your more that likely from the US. Where most of you don't even know that there are other countries out there besides your own. China is opening a coal plant weekly and have been for years. So just because its not in your back yard does not mean they're being phased out!

    • @davidmenasco5743
      @davidmenasco5743 Месяц назад

      @@erniebrossart6855 I guess you missed the news that China deployed more solar power generation in 2023 than the US did in the last 40+ years. They are transitioning away from coal just like everybody else.
      It may be true that in 40 years, only China will be burning coal. But in 80 years, no one will be.

    • @chriskrawchyk1004
      @chriskrawchyk1004 29 дней назад +1

      @@erniebrossart6855 I believe this video is referring to Ontario where coal was phased out in 2014. In Ontario, 80% of electricity generation comes from Nuclear and Hydro, 10% renewable sources and 10% fossil fuels in the form of natural gas. I don't think any of us will be driving the Lightning in China.
