I took Norm's comments with a pinch of salt about him being one of the best to step foot in the store, but he wasn't lying! Killer player, I hear a lot of Django in him, but with four working fingers

this guy is ridiculously good. those chord voicing with the melody are a pain in the ass on guitar. especially when swing to a rhythm

Me, the Wife and Kids went out to Colorado and stayed at the Stanley Hotel. I was writing a book and started to go crazy and imagined Frank Stallone was the bartender.

Jonathan Stout coming in and playing the swing music was awesome! Norm you bring just pure talent into the shop and every day I get to enjoy a little free concert at Norm's rare guitars right into my living room. Imagine that?

    “Man-size body”
Absolute freaking unit right there, but I guess it HAS to big to be able to house an entire time machine inside- it sounded just the way I imagine the 1930s sounding. Great playing!

So grateful for what Jonathan does - that style needs to live on and he is the standard bearer. That tune just NAILS the best of it and I don't think I've seen THAT much binding on a guitar since :-)

Beautiful playing! A friend sent me this because I've got a 1935 Epiphone Spartan which is a smaller version of that guitar but it still has a huge sound. It really works amazingly for that kind of style.

In 2004, me and my girlfriend at the time, were staying at the Yellowstone Lake Hotel, in Yellowstone, Wyoming. We had a fancy dinner and lots of cocktails. After dinner was over, a small band started setting up and played this '30's nostalgia in that beautiful old hotel that began construction in the 1890's. One for the memory banks for sure.

The fancy smaller dining room is upstairs and has a large piano.

A great player, but I wouldn't say "unique," as his style is very closely modeled after that of Allan Reuss, whose heyday was the '30's and '40's. It just sounds unique in the surroundings of the music of today.
