    I'm seeing 24MPG with my tune on street tires but when I put the mud tires on I'm seeing 20MPG. I tow a 20' RV in the mountains and I'm usually passing everyone up grade. The truck is impressive for a 2.3L. I'm a V8 guys always have been but this engine is very impressive.

    Bought my 2020 Ranger Lariat 2 months ago, just had the Ford Permance Level 2 pack installed.
    The tune is top notch, the truck was responsive before, with the tune it is a very noticeable improvement. For those talking about longevity, I have tuned all the EcoBoost motors I've had without any issues and know many other as well.... these motors are very de tuned from the factory and a lot of the time run rich, so a tune to clean up all the extra fuel and 1-2 more pounds of boost is only going to help it run more efficiently. New turbocharges are strong I wouldn't be worried about that as long as it's not overheating. Just my 2 cents

    Without getting into history...this would be the perfect Motor/Trans pull from a wrecked Ranger. I was looking for a wrecked 2.3 from a current gen mustang.
    I’d rather find this and install it in my 72 Pinto than do what I did back in the 80’s with my 76. Install it and forget about it.
    Sure, snatching a motor out of an old Merkur XR4Ti, SVO or Thunderbird Turbo Coupe back in the day, and building it up with Esslinger Engineering parts, was the program back then - but one of these motors in stock form (with a tune) is good enough for me.

    can't argue with the speed gains. but, i see some problems. stock torque curve is much flatter than with the new tune. after peak torque, the torque drops off pretty quick on the tune. also, it looks like the full throttle shift points are appx 5,500 rpm, which is after the tuned hp is starting to fall off. once again, the gains are nice. but, i think they could clean it up some more. i'd also like to see the air/fuel ratios.

    • @Marbind
      @Marbind 5 лет назад +5

      When torque goes that high early it means that the turbo is tiny. Not much can be done to flatten it up without upgrading the turbo. Also power going out after 5,500rpm is also related to a tiny turbo.
      Will it be faster shifting earlier?
      It has to be tested. Sometimes works sometimes doesn’t. The difference is very little. Based on my own experience. I have a car with a similar torque curve.
