Joe Munoz descirbe how to properly re-automate the aircraft after flying with no automation. This is one of MANY videos found in our online A320 ground school at www.1StepPrep.com
Question: Autothrust disengages when thrust levers pulled to idle. If, say in an Open Descent, thrust levers idle, I wish to re engage the Autothrust, must I first bump the levers forward or may I successfully arm the system with the Autothrust push button while the levers remain in idle?
Yoo Joe you are awesome, Man who simplifies complications.

You can push the A/TH push button and then put the thrust levers in clb
Yes the system will arm, but you will get a ECAM telling you to to put the thrust levers in the auto thrust range
Interesting
