@@BenIsRunningcurious question is it possible for me to run my pb again in my life time I’m 28 years old now my last time I ever pb was in 2018 . 400m 65 secs 800m 2:19 1500m 4:45 1 mile 5:05 3000m 10:25 2 mile 10:58 5km I never ran full full potential but my 8km pb was 29:29 10km pb 37:28 I quit running for over 3 years now since I was burn out and suffering from a lot of things in 2020 to 2023 . If I come to Kenya and train will I be able to run this fast again ?
Really enjoying your videos again. I watched all your previous ones in Kenya as my daughter was there at the same time. She hopes to go back next year.
Hiya Ben, im currently on my way for the december camp. Really looking forward to it as your videos inspired my trip to Kenya. Loving the videos Ben, keep it up :))
it's better to rent a room or house with that money! you can live there easily 6 months! and have a great training period. and also a change of environment .. spend a few months in Kaptagat and train!
OMG! 10 pounds for a massage... that would be where I break budget, I'd be on that table every other day haha So I was watching this video while mindlessly scraping the purport balm with a gua sha. Would you consider doing a video about the best technique to use? For now I just randomly go back and forth on my calves, hamstrings, and achilles but couldn't t find any good tutorials
Thanks for the info. It does seem worth it. The experience for a once in a lifetime opportunity to train with some of the best athletes. I just don't understand why you needed to take a taxi to a running event that was few kilometres away 😆
It’s around 10k to the start. Usually I’d probably opt to run there but given I’m currently recovering from an overuse injury that probably wouldn’t be sensible
Kenyan shilling has devalued over the past year so current big advantage with foreign currency. I think some of those prices likely to rise in coming months
All abilities but most are pretty good. You’re not going to get someone who’s never ran before turn up at a running camp in Kenya without some experience 😂
It’s a very good price considering club La Santa is so much more expensive (and overhyped). Only criticism is the small meal sizes which I suppose would be suited for runners like yourself, but for triathletes etc we need a bit more fuel 😉
Interesting that the coke tastes better there! Cud it be the altitude? The worst scenario wud be if they used real coke in the production as in the original receipe 😨
Great video Ben, you said some people went there to train for Valencia which is this weekend. In genera, if one is going to train for the marathon, would they stay for 6 weeks in Iten and then fly direct to Valencia for the race? Or would they taper at home and then fly over.
Hey Ben, can you please elaborate what’s included from training perspective? All sessions, Kenyan core, etc? Do you pay for the Kipchige stadium, do you pay extra for the tartlet etc?
So you pay for the facility in which you can use as everything as much or as little as you wish. You are in full control of your training schedule eg if you want to do the Boston fartlek you just go along, everyone is welcome as long as you are respectful. You don't pay to use the stadium, its open to the public, just pay to get there- matatu is the cheapest. Kenyan core is free for residents. Not sure I get the tartlet reference?

Great review, it looks good but I need my post run beer 🍻
Plenty of beers in the cafe/bar next door! Just not allowed on camp :)
Extremely helpful, practical vlog! And thanks for the tip on Running Trips UK! Might wanna start planning a '24 vacation...
Glad it was helpful! I’m sure you’d love it
love it mate - looks like you have been enjoying yourself and that it's well worth the moolah. 75p a coke, living the dream.
Hard to say no to a 75p coke 😂
Even though you’ve had to hold back due to injury, your videos are gold! Thank you for sharing your experiences!
Thank you buddy, really appreciate that

Totally depends on what you’re looking for. I personally am happy to pay for meals, gym and services provided but very true nonetheless

As promised, exactly what I was looking for. Out of interest how fast are these "recreational runners"?

The meals here are a buffet so you can take as much as you like. Carbs on carbs don’t you worry
for 6wk perfected camp environment 4k€ is a very good price!
that cheaper per week than some of the trainingcamps i have been on and they where just a few hours drive away.
I guess by coming for 6 weeks the average is reduced significantly :)
The coke has more sugar in it in Africa
Hi Ben, really enjoying your videos. Do you know if it is possible to bike in Kenya. Are there any tri camps in the region. 🙏
Not that I know of but lots of triathletes do train here. Most use gravel bikes
Interesting that the coke tastes better there! Cud it be the altitude? The worst scenario wud be if they used real coke in the production as in the original receipe 😨
It's only because of the local cane sugar, nothing special! 😉
@@leventeszemereiit certainly tastes special;)
Definitely tax deductible, Ben, given it is central to your main self employment.
100% 😂
Hi ben can you send on the link for the e visa you got also is there any other documents you need to travel
It looks so good. Would you recommend me going?
I don’t know you personally jack but I’d recommend it to anyone passionate about running :)

I personally would prefer to spend 6 weeks here and then have two weeks at home before the race :)

if you stay there like this without a special tour group, do they still offer organized runs or you plan everything by yourself?
No you have to plan things for yourself but as I’d been before with an organisated group it’s been pretty easy to arrange things :)

This trip looks like a complete nightmare! Poor food. Poor training facilities. Why not just train better in the UK? Or in Europe? This is a gimmick…
This is Bens second time visiting. Maybe “poor quality” makes one faster .
Yikes. The internet can be a mean place sometimes.
High altitude my man
