My experience at the camp was life-changing. Not only did I run with the best, but was treated with kindness, respect and above all a sense of fun. For these lads, their experience will last a lifetime. Learning about Kenyan running while opening them up to better understanding different cultures and values. Nice!
As a Kenyan this was lovely to see those kiwi boys over here and they seemed to enjoy their stay. To be the best you train with the best.. hope to see some of our high school rugby players have some training camps in nz high schools if possible.
The more these people keep coming here, the more I grow prouder of my country. Keep up the vibe guys. Imagine a group of ambitious teenagers flying all the way from Auckland just to come and experience Kenya.
It's not just about their athletics career. I feel that the experience will transform them completely as human beings. They'll be more disciplined and will never take anything for granted. They have more than they need to succeed in life.
This is so awesome... seeing our kenyan heros appreciated like this. Thanks to the boys in putting some heart into this... you can see how valuable the exprience is to them. Kudos to the coach in working with the team... you can see the input. Wise words too...
Loved watching that, and perhaps especially so as and ex Westlake pupil myself. What a great bunch of young men, and get idea to connect with Jake Robertson for his experience.
They were an absolute credit to the school and to New Zealand, impeccably behaved throughout. Jake was also very gracious and kind with his time and energy to inspire the boys.
Lived a few hundred meters from Westlake Boys and Girls high school when I still worked in North Shore Hospital. These boys are well mannered, I have personally run just behind them or run across them, they’re very fast too. Wishing all the best to them.
Well done, Ryan. I completed the challenge in '21, so I know how you feel. Nine weeks from now, I'm running a fasted 5x5 challenge: five marathons in five days while fasting. Next year, I'm running a fasted double Goggins: 4x4x96 while fasting.
@@Kenyantiktoktrends This attitude of welcoming anyone and everyone is how we were easily colonized 🙄 The next we'll be seeing is you offering them free land and men/women to marry. Many of us Kenyans have absolutely no sense of boundaries and no sense of self preservation!
There's a WestLake boy in this video donning the Kenya jersey...probably the best jersey designs ever ( the lions are always designed on Kenya rugby and some football shirts)🎉
Yes, we are very much open to female runners of all ages. This video showcases a boys high school in New Zealand who organised a trip for their cross country team. 🙂
@@PriscillahMwangi Iten is a wonderful place so there is nothing wrong with people wanting to go there. But we absolutely agree that there are many more great African venues out there and we hope to be able to explore more of them soon! ☺
A very strange attitude which seemingly not many Kenyan's share. We are always welcomed with open arms by the local population. There are numerous benefits to Kenya to welcoming in visitors not the least of which is creating highly skilled employment for great Kenyan people like Willy, our Head of Guest Relations at Kenya Experience. All the best,
I am sorry but you are a backward thinker. But I guess you have never made it out of your village with that mentality...everyone is welcome to come to Kenya and stay for as long as they want.....this is an amazing country and people like you tarnish our name...
These kids are so well behaved, positive, and mindful. Well done, NZ. From Eldoret, 🇰🇪
Absolutely right!
and demure
Kids like this are very rare in this generation, pure and well behaved traits you don't see quite often nowadays..

These are well-behaved young boys. I wish them all the best.
Yes, they were wonderful ambassadors for New Zealand 😊
That is why NZ is always on my bucket list, well disciplined students who are very resilient and with an amazing sportsmanship.
😍😍 take me back! What an opportunity for those lads 😯

Well done Kenya for representing Africa and sharing your expertise with the world. Love from Nigeria 🎊💐🇳🇬❤️🎉
I visited Emanuel (when on the Kenyan Experience) and his family. What a gentleman and welcoming family as well as a great runner.
Thanks Martin, we had a great camp with you last year! Emmanuel is very much a key member of the Kenya Experience team!
Such disciplined boys. Bravo Westlake

When the boys were at the school, greeted, walking through all the Kenyan kids and getting celebrated. Beautiful and heartfelt moments

Thanks for the support David, really appreciate the comment🙌 Yes they are great - it's eye opening and inspiring in equal measure!

New Zealand have produced top class middle distance and long distance runners in the past. John Walker comes to mind.

In a good way we hope?? Didn't mean to upset you 🤣

Newzealanders vs Australian's at school cross country and in Australia there is no opportunities like that
