Thank you so much for the detailed guide! You don't really know how helpful this is for those who are starting out with the whole Hackintosh world. I unfortunately gave up when I tried about 3 or 4 months ago due to the lack of help from the community and people pointing to useless and outdated articles saying that my question has been asked about a million times. This whole video is honestly super helpful and would give you a million and a half likes if I could. Great job on the music as well BTW.

Finally got my 9570 up and running - dual boot Catalina/Windows, DW1560 wi-fi and she is running great! After 2 years of hell on Windows I'm back in macOS and it feels amazing...honestly setting up this hack was probably easier than setting up Windows for the first time. Much thanks for this amazing guide!
Hey! Great to here you got Catalina working on your 9570. Do you find everything is stable or at least comparable to Mojave? I was hoping to try it on mine. Also, is there a certain guide I could follow or is the installation process the same?
@@catkiller395 It's been really stable, not perfect. I never installed Mojave on my 9570, so I can't compare. I'm using bavariancake's EFI folder as mentioned in this video, other than that it's pretty much just a vanilla install as in this video. Dual-boot w/Windows is slightly more complicated, as I elected to keep my previous Windows installation unlike in this video. Been through a Windows update, macOS update (10.15.2), and a BIOS update and it's still going strong!

@@catkiller395 Most of my issues have been wifi/BT/USB related after I switched my wifi card to the DW1820A. This card is notorious for it's compatibility issues, so I suspect most of my issues are related to this card in some way. I'm trying to get this card stable as it has BTLE 4.1 and is a fraction of the cost of the DW1560.
Edit: I do seem to have resolved my wireless issues and I have to say this thing is dang near perfect. Wish I would have done this sooner.

Can you put a link to the wifi card in the description?
I followed your instructions but my 9570 cannot see the usb. I goto the bios to point efi to the correct boot file on the usb, usb no where to be found, I’ve checked all the listed locations in the drop down nothing. Any ideas?
Thank you! I got Catalina 10.15.6 going on an old M6600 Dell from 2011! Still a somewhat decent system! i7 2.7/3.4 turbo GHz, 32 GB RAM and a 1 TB SSD ... it flies! And it throws MacOS around like it's tissue paper! You saved a lot of time ... and I still had issues but, in the end, have *every* device working on it! Well done with your guide. _I used your excellent guide and another video on the subject to complete my project! And it works very well!_

to those wondering if this method will work on the XPS 15 7590 model, it works beautifully! I installed BavarianCake's EFI instead of LuletterSouls but it works very well. I'd argue that this machine runs macOS better than it runs Windows lol great video!

Cool video! I used your other one to help me hackintosh my XPS recently. You probably already know this, but it is possible to dual boot MacOS and Windows without completely wiping Windows in the process.
You can use the Disk Management tool to shrink the Windows partition and then temporarily format the free space as exFAT. Then when installing MacOS, you format the temporary partition as Mac OS Extended Journaled, and install there.
Figured I'd leave a comment in case anyone doesn't want to lose all of their Windows data!
Hi @Kevin and @Garrett, I followed both of your instructions here and installed MacOS without completely wiping Windows but I am facing an issue with RAID partition. Every time I need to choose either RAID for using Windows or AHCI for MAC as MAC is not loading with RAID partition.
Can any one of you, please help with this?

I tried this on my 9570 w/Catalina and I think it corrupted my Windows Boot drive when I tried to format the exFAT temporary partition to MacOS Extended Journaled. It wouldn't format and then when I tried to boot into Windows it couldn't find my Windows Boot drive, saying "no bootable drives detected"...Do I need to install Clover to the Windows boot drive as well? Notice in this tutorial how Windows shows up in the Clover Boot menu even though he never installed Clover there...
@@joshm8015 You shouldn't have to install Clover again. Can you boot into Mac OS? And if so can you see the Windows drive in Disk Utility?

While you have the back off the laptop, pull that sticker off the SSD to increase cooling efficiency and machine reliability. It soved most of my issues under Windows.

I watched your video some time ago already and now finally had the time to try it out myself. I installed macOS on my XPS 9560 with jardenliu/xps15-9560-Catalina kext package. Thank you so much for these two great videos. The quality is just mind-blowing (music, explanations, camera angles...)! I have one question to you or to any XPS 15 macOS user: How do you configure the track pad for right-clicking? In windows you can click with two fingers or with the bottom right corner to make a right-click. In macOS I could use only one of both techniques. Either two fingers or bottom right corner. Is there a way to get both simultaneously? Wonder how you all set it up. Thank you ;)
Thank you! Have you checked under trackpad in the Settings app? If that doesn't have the setting you're looking for, it might be worth to take a look at the voodooi2c gitter, there might be some additional configuration options available.

I followed all the steps in the video exactly and have the flash drive ready however I cannot figure out how to boot to it. I even went into the bios and clicked add boot option and inside the EFI folder there was no clover or boot. There was just Microsoft, boot, and dell. There was only one thing under file system list and no USB. Can anyone help me with this?

Gone through hell with my Acer Aspire laptop but it works perfectly now, right now I'm waiting on clover to support macOS big sur but on my OC desktop Hackintosh I'm ready for big sur.

Excuse my noob question, but when installing the Windows 10, did you choose the partition that had no OS, or the one where you also installed macOS?
Isn't it possible to just split the whole SSD into two partitions, where you install macOS on one, and Windows 10 on the other partition?
Also, is it possible rather than flashing a clean W10, to backup and install that same backup, so that you don't have to install all your software again, and don't lose data?

What about nvidia drivers? I have Dell XPS 15 9560 with Nvidia GTX 1050 4GB GPU. Will work this for me?

Wow ive had my XPS for a year never even thought of the idea of something like this, am planning on getting a 2tb m.2 upgrade soon, although i just changed out the wifi card to the best intel one i could find, which doens't seem compatible! Regardless this is awesome and i'm definitely going to try it soon.

OK. I recreated the USB itself making sure I followed directions EXACTLY (although running clover on the mac in the VM made a new partition that didn't show up on the USB), booted with that USB and now I don't get the apple logo - I get a few lines of text ending with the line "couldn't allocate runtime area" and then the computer just sat there. I have no more ideas. This is terribly frustrating.

Your dell xps 15 seems good, but mine is different , I purchased a dell 3593 two month ago, my samsung evo 860 ssd always works at SATA2, 3gb, and usually runs automatic repairing process when I turn on the machine, I'm sure I powered-off using powerdown provided by win10 maybe the bios is still unstable and sata3 ssd works @ sata2 are caused by the internal thin cable.
Have you tried BavarianCakes new updated EFI yet since work has stalled on Lultersouls project?
To boot into Windows after changing to AHCI:
Right-click the Windows Start Menu. Choose Command Prompt (Admin).
Type this command and press ENTER: bcdedit /set {current} safeboot minimal
Restart the computer and enter BIOS Setup (the key to press varies between systems).
Change the SATA Operation mode to AHCI from either IDE or RAID (again, the language varies).
Save changes and exit Setup and Windows will automatically boot to Safe Mode.
Right-click the Windows Start Menu once more. Choose Command Prompt (Admin).
Type this command and press ENTER: bcdedit /deletevalue {current} safeboot
Reboot once more and Windows will automatically start with AHCI drivers enabled.

Tried to add the boot device but it seems like my USB is not detected as I only manage to find the Window's EFI in the boot options

Tutorial works fine for me. The only thing that I've observed to be non-functional is the touch screen.
I would suggest the following clarifications to the tutorial.
1) Thumb Drive Requirements: Need two drives - one for EFI boot loader formatted as FAT32, the other for MacOS installer. This was not clear in the video.
2) Download the same version of Clover as displayed in the video. I initially downloaded a newer version of Clover from Github. With the newer Clover version, I could not find a way to install it to the thumb drive. (Perhaps, I'm blind, but didnt not see an option for this at all).
3) After installing Clover to the laptop hard drive, laptop still would not boot. The Windows boot loader was still in the EFI file. Deleting the Windows folder resolved the issue for me.

i have a dell xps 9370. it has a 256gb ssd... is it enough storage to run dual boot and still have storage to save things?
Mine doesn't wanna cooperate. A slight difference comparing to what happens in 7:04 - on the video appears a EFI drive on the desktop. No such thing happens to me. The when I put the stick to the XPS it shows no USB available to boot from. No possibility to add a boot entry
Hi Kevin, thanks for the guide, but I have one question. I saw some reports of DW1560 failing in Dual Boot Windows, after your use, have you saw freezes in Windows with this card? Does the auto unlock with apple watch works with this card? And the final question, where did you get that DW1560, to see if I can get it in the same place to be sure it will work. Thanks in advance.
I had the same issues too until the latest build of Windows 10. On 1903 or above the DW1560 doesn't crash for me anymore but to be on the safe side you could get the DW1830 instead. Not sure if auto unlock works with this card as I don't have an Apple Watch but it should, I've seen others reporting success with those features on the DW1560. I got my DW1560 from aliexpress but it looks like prices for it have jumped up since I bought it unfortunately
Alternatively, you could also use the Lenovo BCM94352Z (part # 04x6020) card which is technically the same chip as the DW1560, except it has an E key only instead of the A+E Key like the DW1560. You would just need to cut a little notch in the card to accommodate the WLAN slot on the 9570 mobo. It looks like this card is about half the price of the DW1560 currently.
If you've prepared the installation image, you can upload it anywhere and make it easier for me, man.

Ive seen a few people do this now, would be interested to hear about your experiences longer term using it as a daily driver, for example, is whats the track pad like to use compared to the macbook one? How many hours of watching movies can you get? Any little problem? When I last did hackintosh there were nothing but hassles for me for 3 years but I don't think Apple deserve any more of my money after what they did to their Macbook line up.

So after I insert the install disk, and tell it to start Mac OS installer. It takes a really long time to load and then my computer just turns off. What am I supposed to do?

Hey bud... weird issue (Ive got the DW1830 wifi card)...
For some reason, when the laptop 'sleeps' and then wakes, my woof speeds are GARBAGE, if I can connect at all.
I have the WOL disabled, it doesn't help if I turn wifi off and then on... Speeds are fantastic after a reboot or before it sleeps...
However, turning the wifi off before closing the lid will, and then on when opened again, will in fact, result in a perfectly working wifi..
Any suggestions? (my guess is its a driver/kext issue?) but I'm not really familiar with OS X kexts...
Could we just use an external wireless adapter?

This is probably a stupid question but could this theoretically work on a Dell XPS 13 7390? I've been wanting a laptop to dual boot Windows and MacOS (Windows for games, MacOS for audio work) but I don't want to spend like 2-3K on a mac which could get borked by thermals as it only has a whimsy cooling solution :/

still can't emulate OS X inertial trackpad, i was hoping that hackintoshing my latitude 7480 will give me nice specs with a better UX but for what ive seen we are still stuck with window-ishy not-so-organic trackpad movement, you have to drag it 2-3 times to get it to were you want :(
