Best recipe I’ve seen for homemade gyros! I just followed a recipe that I wasn’t 100% impressed with but this one makes more sense. Definitely going to try this!
Can salt the cucumber a bit and let the salt drain the liquid from it before using for tzatsiki or as he said here squeeze it in your hand to remove some of the liquid
If your tongue doesnt ting when you taste the tzatziki, you havent put enough garlic 🧄 my friend. Also, for tastier tzatziki, make it the day before, as the flavors have more time to combine overnight in the fridge. Add a dash of vinegar or lemon too, makes is even better. The pita looks good, but is not the classic one. For excellent pita, look Akis Petritzikis pita recipe. Been making it for ages, cant fault it. In the end oil that pita a bit and put on tthe hot surface again, and sprinkle with oregano and thick salt, make it scream of flavor. Not familiar with the spice you use, again there are marinade and spices that i have been using that brings it very close to Greek gyros taste. The spice is by angus and oink. Overall it looks great, but if you want to put the effort to make it, id also add the fries and tomato in there.
Roel you Autotuned your video? 5:47 XD I'm getting stressed out by listening to the weird audio along with the constant cuts between studio and dubbed audio
Well done! You have made a lot of progress on pronouncing "Gyros"! In another video you made a couple of years ago, you insisted on pronouncing it with a very strong "Dutch G". It was much better this time.
Living in North America I noticed the same translation mistake. Google translates 'kipfilet' to chicken breasts, but those are typically too dried out for my taste. Yep, chicken thighs (kippepoten :) is the way to go.
OK, now you have done it. My Houston Nephew is GREEK, so he is asking the European Union to deport you. Apparently he thinks your country is in South America. Houston school system may not be strong on geography……..
@@RVDL Running gag: I make fun of my provincial, republican Nephew who lives in Houston by making him seem ignorant, but in fact he usually tries many of Joel’s recipes and loves them.
Your Tzatziki shouldn't resemble a soup. Watered down versions DO NOT preserve taste. If that's choice have at it. Add some dill next time to elevate the Tzatziki.

Hint for tzatziki 😂Just squeeze the cucumber with your hands to get out extra juice and use some vinegar .it boost the flavor
I could've sworn it was intentional. Didn't he say that?
use the correct cucumber type
mb 🤷

thank you for pronouncing 'Gyro' the correct way. working on this recipe this weekend.
Very awesome that you provide the recipe for your rubs and sauces that you also sell.
De lente komt eraan, dit is ga ik zeker proberen! Bedankt voor de top uitleg en recepten.
Good vid, i have chicken ready to marinate right now
Surely gonna try this!
Wao so yummy and delicious thank for sharing ❤
This looks so good thanks
Which Masterbuilt grill model is that?
If only we could all afford 17 different BBQS with all the different attachments 😮
hoi roel lekker recept ik ga het zeker maken op mijn masterbuilt 560. Een opmerking het geluid was niet soms niet goed
Klopt, probleempje met de microfoon. Maar we vonden het toch zonde om de video er voor weg te gooien.
Great recipe!
Great recipes! I think the windows you installed have messed with your audio, sounds like reverb.
Nicely done . In the states you can get a chicken fajita pitta at Jack in the box. They are surprisingly appetite pleasing.
Looks so delicious.
Stir some yogurt trough the dough mixture, makes the pitas way fluffier!
J'adore!!!

Akis makes all of us Greeks proud ! Great Chef in my books
I've always had some diced tomato on my gyros.
Looked good. You sound congested.
Audio is a bit weird, my man.
What's wrong with your audio? Mine is fine.
@@neil968 If you can't hear that his mic goes going nuts in this video then you have an issue with your ears my friend.
Yea audio is warping. (Speeds up, slows down)…almost like an old tape player.
In my opinion, you should peel half the skin. Make it look like a poker chip. Shave a line, skip a line shave a line. To much skin is bitter
I am sorry my friend but this is not a TZATZIKI this is a cucumber sauce with some garlic 😄. With love from GREECE !!!
I just improved TzaTziki. Try the recipe and thank me later 😁

Nail it
You need to try mollejas man!!!!
Mic check... 🤣
Love your channel😊 but I will leave this one to others. Don't care for cucumbers.
Sasekey 😂
Excuse me, Italian American here, there is no such thing as too much garlic.
don't tell that to real Italians, they don't like bad breath

Chicken thighs, not filet😅

I’ve searched high & low but still can’t find any all-purpose water 🤷🤣
Check the toilet
Jierosssss
Volgens mij hebben jullie geprobeerd achtergrond geluid eruit te filteren. Oef. Niet meer doen.
Prefer using real Greek yoghurt and squeeze the cumber first then you halfway to real tzatziki. 🇬🇷and gyros.
What happened to your mic? Are you in an aquarium?
OK, now you have done it. My Houston Nephew is GREEK, so he is asking the European Union to deport you. Apparently he thinks your country is in South America. Houston school system may not be strong on geography……..
This makes zero sense

No fresh garlics nothing should be fresh don’t listen to him

Too much garlic? What is this BS?
the reason you scrape out the center/ seeds.. it removes seeds and tons of water.. a simple task that takes 10 seconds.. lol
Doing the cacik TZATZIKI sauce your way is how Turks do it ,It's more better !!
Looks so delicious.
