Metal Detecting River Adventure: I Herd U Liek Spiders?

- Join me on a long, but fun metal detecting adventure in the river. I find some interesting old artifacts to include a super sweet and near perfect "clipped corner" belt plate that dates to the early 1800's. I also see some interesting wildlife to include a tree full of the most disgusting and scary spiders I have witnessed in quite some time. So I herd u liek mudspides. I included a few in the video.

Bed springs. Or rather a mattress support. Used to span across that bed frame to support a mattress before box springs.
Rollaway bed mattress support
You got my vote, I thought the same
yup it sure is
Yes, I'm used to seeing them in the old folding army beds.
I have a rollaway bed that has mattress supports that look just like these.
You lift my spirits so much, Beau! Despite my anxiety, you've had me smiling almost the entire video... Not for anything specifically, but just from you being you. Thank you for sharing yourself with us! (Oh, and we don't mind you talking to us; That's all part of your unique charm! I hope your family is doing well, too! Happy, happy holidays, Beau.)😊💜
Could the doorknob actually be a brass bed knob?? You know the decoration on the bed ends - would make more sense as it has no holes for screws to attach it to a door fitting. Your videos are great by the way, I have a tiny crush, just a small one... may have to get myself a metal detector - the machine, not the man....😉
Seriously I find your iron finds as fun as all the rest, so dig it and show us as much as you like. That two tine fork sure looked like some I have seen from the 18th century, maybe like the belt buckle it and the knife are colonial?!
The hook thingy is part of a single or doubletree. It was used to fasten the pull point of wagons or farm equipment. It could have been used to fasten the ferry to a cable. Then if the flow was fairly good no other motive power than the moving water would have been necssary. Good greif! A headless duck; for the man who has everything!
Great video Beau! I love that smile after you find something good...it could light up the world! Thank you!
Love the long videos beau! Best RUclipsr by far!
Dont apologize for showing the iron... its not valuable but it's interesting as hell to listen to you explain what they are.
Surprised that the Aquachigger doesn't recognize the hand forged piece as the end of a "single tree". The wooden bar that goes behind the horse in a wagon rigging.
Iron is worthy of enough is collected.
also to use our imaginations to understand some of it for ourselves. The iron, in my opinion z is the most interesting part!
Watching from the UK ! Love love love your channel and have subscribed. I'm obsessed with this channel !! Much love and respect for what you do and achieve. I learn so much about your history from you so I thank you for that. Keep safe Beau
Spiders....why'd it have to be spiders......
Great video as per usual. I initially thought the linked wire was segments of surveyors chains used to measure distances as ropes or twine would stretch especially when wet, but I am more inclined to go with the bed frame idea. Great variety of videos please keep them coming 👍
You are awesome ! Keep up the good work, enjoy it!
I love how your face lit up when you found that belt buckle!!
I think someone threw that really really big old sledge hammer into the river cause they Muradurrrred someone with it...like Ricky!!!
Mary Helen 😬
Great find Mr Chig, soooo happy for you. All that hard work would put most people off,,, but Not our Mr Chigger. Great video and God bless.
sure hope those fisherman can't read your t-shirt......GARRETT METAL DETECTORS. hmmmmmm............ i wonder what he is doing
Yeah, you can avoid those spiders... like forever. COMPLETELY! I have the creepy crawlies now!
My husband says that your "doorknob" is a finial for a brass and iron bed. Great video!
the hook with a loop is from the end of a whipple tree (singe tree), horse gear. the twisted wire is a bed mattress I believe
Your goofiness is awesome! It keeps me coming back, you are so informative and fun! Thanks for sharing
Awesome find with that belt buckle! I know you love buckles so glad you found this one! I don't mind if you dig iron, I enjoy that too.
"Some folks call it a Sling Blade, I call it a Kaiser Blade." You didn't see Karl down there did you, Chig?
Congratulations on the buckle Beau!..That is definitely a find of a life time for most people, especially so it being complete..I have never seen another relic hunter any where near as successful as you in the amount of finds & in rare finds!..As always thanks for taking us all along, its always a pleasure & a thrill.
Cryptonight he is amazing huh?
He sure is..Its just a matter of time before he pulls a CSA buckle.
And a treasurrrre
I hate spiders.
You may hate them, but we enjoy a good giggle when you find them
No, too many legs. Nothing that small needs that many legs. Just no.
Relic Recoverist me too
u is gay then
That Guy I’m so gay.
Man you have the best vids on youtube, i binge watch your stuff every single day hahaha
The thing at 8:15 is off a single tree, part of horse harness.
Love watching your videos between the history , all the artifacts and explanations of what they are and your jokes makes my day. Ps. Love the anticipation!!
Always Great Beau. Everything you pull up is Interesting and somewhat Educational. Looking forward to Moar...
the hammer head is from a ... hm, in German we call it Steinhauer - that is the a now obsolete unskilled laborer who makes coarse huge blocks of stones in a quarry which are then sold to masons. the hammer type in German is called Setzhammer. (Sorry, I lack the English terminology). The hole for the handle is usually smaller than you would expect from a hammer thats ment to be swung (in order to reduce vibration) because this hammer was only set on the rock to be hit with a sledge hammer in order to split the rock, and not ment to be lifted over the head.
the brass knob you found is probably from a bed post. Looks a bit too weak for a door knob. is the porcellain plate painted or printed?
peter koller steinhauer is a stonemason.
thanks. so, in English, you are also making the difference between a stonemason, who prepares the blocks, and the mason, who then makes something more sophisticated out of these blocks?
peter koller as far as my knowledge, a stonemason is just someone who works with stone.
peter koller a person that works at a quarry to remove the stone from the ground may be called a quarryman.
thats what she said your a funny man today😂😁
I never get tired of watching these videos! Very entertaining and you’re a great narrator!
Mr Beau, I carry a large white muskie pole when I do not want people to be curious. It has no line on it and is good cover as fewer people ask questions when I have it propped up. If I just use the detector, I get to answer many questions that burn up my daylight. Great Video Sir!
It was pretty funny in the video with what appeared to be the Feds coming down river
I can c myself doing the same thing Hiding in the Bushes!
Love the long videos, especially this one. You’re awesome, Chigg!
Stealth Chigger hiding in the bushes. Love your channel Beau. Great find with that belt buckle.
Aqua can u shout out Abby Grace santelle my 2 year old daughter loves your videos ty kindly sir
Watching this video made me realize how much I've missed your river treasure ventures.
So now i know when detecting a river...always keep an eye out for chigger in a bush!
a chig on the tube is worth more than a chig in the bush any day!!!
Make sure to check the poison ivy especially thoroughly :)
XD that's so funny
Beau, That linked-wire chain to me looks like an old fish-stringer my parents used back in the older days! Great video as usual!
That's exactly what I was thinking.
I was thinking old bed springs.
GAH, yeah...That's probably it, especially since that was a dumping area.
that makes sense
thats what i was thinking.
"Mainstays" is a cheap Wal-Mart plate!
We use to go camping along the branches of the Kentucky River my Dad would run trout lines the one scary fish caught was a gar fish! We'd spend a week out there camping, it was fun! Thanks for sharing!
Silly Chigg, if you’ve ever played video games you’d know that spider was guarding treasure!!!
Ninjachigger - stealthy in the bushes.
John Henrys' hammer! lol
I have been waiting so long for one of these long videos.
MOVIE NIGHT!!!!
Thanks for the close ups of the spiders. I happen to like them very much. :) Spiders and humans, in my opinion, are the perfect partners. Not only do we use their venom in important medications, but they ensure that the Earth remains inhabitable for us prevent the spread of insect-borne diseases by keeping the populations of problem insects down. As long as they have a steady food supply, spiders are always welcome in my house. :)
Sorry I have a spider phobia!
You heard wrong about us liking spiders.
If I have arachnid related nightmares tonight, I'm blaming you Beau 🤔🕷😢
I know right
Them spiders AAAHHHWWWWEE yea no way couldn't do it...I'd of been goneeee. Cool belt buckle... I love when you find neat stuff you're like a little kid with a cool new toy :) "Thats what she said"....ur so bad...never expected to hear you say that.... I had to stop the video so I could stop laughing :)
Take care :)
11:48 I have the exact same plate in my cabinet!
Wow. What an amazing relic hunt. Interesting and informative. Thank you.
The chain reminds me of a antique surveyor chain, but too short of links. May be a fish stringer.
Ever any after clean up content ? It would be nice to see the items without all the crud on them.
15:36 If I had to swing that hammer more than 4 times I would chuck it in the drink too.
People have become weak and lazy over the generations.
people pay tons of money to get the workout that guy got paid to swing it
I never understood people throwing trash into rivers .Most of America's rivers are just disgusting filthy nasty looking places . Sad
Nice healthy looking spiders. Love the wolf spiders. Spiders serve a very good purpose for us humans. I used to have tarantulas and trapdoor spiders as pets! (I happen to be female). I am always called on by others to get the spiders out of their house or stuff. Wimps.
I almost for got to say that God bless and take care this is Andrew Lopez and I have a twin brother and it is his birthday to I live in New Mexico in e middle of NM I'm not going to tell you were exactly but if you go to google maps you will find were please and thank you.
Beau, are ya sure that cone wasn't an ice cream cone that folks passed around at parties? Like you had me believing enough that I had my wife convinced and believing the same a few year back, when you said thats what it was?? : )
Don’t listen to assholes who troll. We love your enthusiasm and the videos are funny and entertaining and to some extent- relaxing and comforting. So thanks Chig for doing these videos very informational too.
Oh, Schpeiders!
So they produced Iron "ice cream cones" to protect the ends of the wooden poles used for the ferries, but kept losing them. Surely replacing a wooden pole would have been far easier and cheaper than producing more of these?
like spiders as people, outside people i dont meet. wish them well, but terrified they will get on me. anything with many legs, i save crayfish , sometimes they go walk about? and dry out , but i cant touch so i get s can and take them to water.
another fantastic video. i am on the edge of my seat with anticipation. you really put us there with you. fantastic video can not wait for you next one. you are my new favourite utubber. and i watch quite a few people so big thanks for getting us so close to what you're seeing
You are so knowledgeable
I love watching your videos.
I hate, Hate, HATE! spiders!
I believe those wire pieces are from an old boxspring kind of a thing. At least that's my guess.
WOW this was fun. I was able to eat and watch you. That looks like so much fun. Thank you for sharing your adventures. ♥♥♥
Congrats on the belt plate.
🕷 fishing spider. Not usually found that close to water which defies its name.
You are breaking my balls! Almost 41 minutes!!! Movie time?
It's 10 in France i'll watch it tomorrow !
40 minute video went too fast.
Oh hell nooo fk them spiders 😂😂 love your videos!
your tshirt maybe isnt the best if u dont want people to understand what ur doin
Spiders 🕷 don't bother me much unless one is crawling on me, then I freak out! Congrats on the belt buckle! Love the lock! Thanks for sharing! ~ Gypsy
What detector do you recommend? 100-250$ range?
i hate spiders soooo much that i almost didn't click on the video!
any one know what the song is at the end of his vids?
Ala Alpha It's called 'Aquachigger Song, it was done by a fan called Rich Warner
oh god thankyou! I kept looking for it online using the lyrics and nothing came up... now i know why!
Wish i could hear the whole song though... want to hear the rest of the lyrics. lol.
No problem :) He played it throughout 1 of his previous videos but not everyone liked it so he said he wouldn't play it again during the video, I'm glad he kept it in at the end though because I LOVE it. If you didn't catch the video you can see it here ruclips.net/video/54egHGXstXA/видео.html
Not sure if this is the entire version of the song or not though :) I will try and track down Rich to see if he has done a full version or not and will let you know !
awesome
Love the belt buckle. Great hunt! Thanks for bringing me along!
That spider in the thumbnail is so awesome!
could the wire be from bed springs? Not springs but the frame.
The first find was the crank on the clothes ringer
That blacksmith u shaped tool is a log pickaroon. It should be straight hooking slightly near the end. You’re welcome.
Eric haskell a pike or pickaroon is similar but heavier. I think it is part of a single tree. Where you hook a horse up to the wagon.
That second thing looks like a car crank for older cars
broken locks, we lose dam key and need break our own lock.
The little round bronze thing that you said was a doorknob... I'm not positive on this but... Isn't that a spitoon?
So I just Googled pocket spittoons to get a look around and sure enough I found one identical to it I'm 99% positive that's a pocket spittoon. They used to make a small version of The Regular Size spitoon that would sit near you maybe in a desk while you were at work which was much smaller and more elegant looking. I think that's what it is.
I like the fact you don't like to detect/hunt infront of some fishermen then you go and upload the video for 834,000 subscribers lol
neons but we don't know his location!
I was educated today,thank you!
19:25 you're welcome !
thanks
Was that first thing a whistle on some pipe?
The twisted wire is bed springs.
Look here:
4.bp.blogspot.com/--AbCkFdBWhE/TwOMFIAFPgI/AAAAAAAACYk/eUMilftA4W8/s1600/bed-spring.jpg
That exact wringer was used to create the old adage about having your tit in a wringer. The owner of the tit tossed it in the creek just to get even. stay safe
John Thomas 😂
The item at 1:26 was probably the handcrank to the roller.
I'm guessing you don't have a problem with poison ivy since you often seem to be sitting/hiding in it. Keep up the great work. - from a fellow Marylander.
Those cast iron pipes come in handy for using as a leverage for lifting heavy objects.
Also I’ve used them to help turn Ratchets. For example trying to take lug nuts off a
tractor wheel by sticking the ratchet handle down in the pipe for leverage. 👍✌️
The 5×8 coil off the At Gold will work on it .
I don't leik spyders!!!!!!!!!
Mr. Chigg,
Another great "Adventure". Thanks. The wire links were found with kitchen items. Perhaps they are part of a wire basket used to collect garden vegetables, etc. on the old farm. Just a thought. Always a pleasure to watch.
gear is from vehicle rear end
Beau stop tormenting me with all the sweet old locks you keep finding I've been hunting for a old brass lock for years
