Good tip cut one inch long pieces of a zip tie off, bend them in half and stick them under each nut. The zip tie will act like a spring to hold the nuts in place it works great.

Always thought under the seat batteries were so convenient. This is a weird place for a battery

Did you pull the tires to get that much room? I have the same machine. Hate doing the batteries. AGM I do it every 3 years.

This probably sounds like a stupid question, but how did you get all the room under there around the engine to get your arm in there to undo the bolts? Mine is a 2018 and it's a lot more packed it than that.

question. I wanna add second battery to my unit because this bullshit stock one, dies in 1 minute if I godforsaken act human and leave a light on accidentally... The issue is, I don't have room to replace my current battery with a better one, cuz its gonna be bigger and I have zero room for a physically bigger battery.. I have a 2017 Sportsman 1000 Touring. I was thinking of just getting a second battery and running all my accessories on it. Does anyone know about how to go about it? And what do I do about the voltage regulator?

I now run AGM batteries. They are deep cycle and do not cost much more. As for leaving lights on, I would just put them all on keyed power.

The polaris engineer that put the battery down there should be run off. Major PIA to replace the battery, it is not as easy as the make it look, plus changes in the frame cross members make impossible to get two hands in there. Engineers should be made to perform simple maintenance like this, then they will understand what a stupid design they came up with. Battery replacement should take no longer than 15 minutes. And another thing why put a cheap battery that need its water checked in order to maintain it, there no way people are going to go through this BS just to check the water routinely. The motto at Polaris must be "save a buck and aggravate the consumer." Just changed mine out to an AGM battery and the next atv I buy will be maintenance friendly, so I'm guessing it won't be a polaris

You have to be kidding me?!?! Mine is sitting dead and every video I watch the battery is removed. You mean to tell me there is no way to simply hook up a charger or jump it? F#!%*$g D average engineering students. God bless Polaris for hiring them.
