Hey, modern day kids, wanna know how cool this show was? The main character was a Vietnam combat vet who lived on a sailboat with his pet alligator named "Elvis;" his partner was a streetwise New Yorker with a penchant for undercover work and accents while carrying short-barreled shotguns, and their boss was an ex-CIA ninja with the honor of a samurai. Need I say more?
I was lucky enough, our kindergarten teachers were sitting us down for every episode, and although I was only 6 at the time Miami Vice really stuck with me. I remember all kids used to chant "miami vice" over and over, as the air time was approaching. This might seem odd to some, but this was Poland in 1989-90, and we just got the iron curtain lifted, so all these new shows were a big deal to us.
I believe the music in these scenes, is what really put this series apart from any before or since. Perfect combination of pop and crime cultures clashing together...
@LOS ANGELES DODGERS Well my mom would argue with you, but I'm not my mom, LOL... now my wife would say Mel Gibson, lol. Anyway I'm happy to say they're all alive and and still around and so am I for that matter, be safe
My girlfriend at the time told me I'd love Miami Vice. I told her I hated cop shows. But I came down off my high horse and after the Bushido Episode I was and still am, a devoted fan.
@@napoleonwilson6499 Yes the Airwolf helicopter is actually in reality a modified helicopter owned by Jetcopters and after that show ended got sold to Germany as ambulance helicopter. (Info taken from Airwolf wikipedia page).
Pretty sure video Bob is redoing that helicopter, he does a lot of movie Cars, Back to the Future DeLorean and night Rider car kit and Ecto 1 and a whole lot more
AAWWW MAN! You cut the scene short! The best part of this scene is when Tubbs and Crockett race back to the garage to find Carroon! The drama escalates when you see what is probably the best Beauty shot of this car (Cadillac) racing down the highway to the spectacular music of Mr. Jan Hammer!!! The Ferrari always got sooo much attention! It was rare when Tubbs' vehicle got the spotlight! Still...this was an exciting third season opener!!! Vice Fan Forever!!
I actually go to work each and every Friday feeling great all day because I know that when I get home I will enjoy watching an episode the same as I did way back when!
You could always invest about $35.00 with Amzn or WMt and buy the DVD set of the entire 5 seasons. Still want to catch these show intros though. Anyway, just a thought.
Lmao 3:36 I love how all the amateur villains in Miami Vice used to have this leg spread apart stance and just try to go nuts with the automatics 😂 And the at 3:43 when they got shot they felt the need to fire off a few more rounds aimlessly 😂🤣
Because both this series and the short lived, cult classic cop show "Crime Story" were produced by Michael Mann, both series often used the same writers, directors, supporting actors, and guest stars. Dennis Farina, who made appearances on "Miami Vice" as crime lord Albert Lombard, became the star of "Crime Story" as series lead, Lt. Michael Torello.
Amazing goof at 3:44 the military guy is dead on side with his legs crossed. The white jacket guy gets killed a few metters before the ban. At 3:56 the military guy is face DOWN on earth and his legs are not crossed anymore. The guy of the white jacket is laying in different position of where he got killed. The bazooka's box is put in a different direction and you can see a gun near of the back tire which it wasn't.
I love how Paul Gleason (the villain in the yellow pants who was also in THE BREAKFAST CLUB and DIE HARD) goes down after being shot at the front of the van and then is seen dead at the back of it!
Tessarossa means read head because the engine had red parts on it. Most of them came in shades of white, black or if you could not afford to get them painted production red. Classic 1980s Ferrari model.
Miami Vice was the best show ever in my opinion, but the fashion and music put it in a vacuum, and not to mention how well Vice has aged, and yeah some episode had a few errors, and a few times the prologue wouldn't make sense for the story being shown, or the nuances to set the tone for the audience just wasn't aligned. With Mann you always knew the synopsis and what he was going after, and even with the blemishes, it was very hard to notice what, if anything was missing, and most of the time it was just something illogical that contradicted some small earlier event. When you did catch a plot hole, most of the inconsistencies didn't hurt Vice. Truth be told it probably helped, because you might not of had time for the dialogue needed to get the episode out in just under an hour. Some of the later episodes plots needed more work too, but this is just a MV experts two cents, Lol.

A lot of A listers played roles in this series. Good shit.
No Pal, you don't.
Yeah they busted millionaire sleaze using Ferraris and Airwolf.
Castillo bad ass shows up in Airwolf. The bad guys are toast for sure.
Crockett watching his future car. Got impounded, then he waited one month to recieve it with new paint and new rubbers.
Jesus christ. 32 years later and I STILL get chills
Yep
More like 40 years later. Yep, the show is THAT old
On the streets: Miami Vice
In the air: Airwolf

Don Johnson was the coolest guy of the 80s. NGL 😍❤️
What about ricardo tubbs
What about Tom Selleck?

Miami vice + airwolf = 1980's 🇺🇲 🤘🤘!!!!
Indeed, yes sir !!
I agree 💯
It just wasn’t any cooler than this……Miami Vice was the pinnacle of TV……
even the police helicopters were cool
That black Testarossa is actually the same one that would become Crockett's.
They painted it white so that it could be seen better at night.
They make police very hard to lost them by driving the that Testarossa.
Didn't they had two ferraris ?
Castillo calling the shots like a boss
Deadly ninja man of few words
My girlfriend at the time told me I'd love Miami Vice. I told her I hated cop shows. But I came down off my high horse and after the Bushido Episode I was and still am, a devoted fan.
When THAT MUSIC kicks in! 😎
Last month I ordered all the Miami Vice DVDs to enjoy whenever
I did that last Christmas finally getting around to it snd omg soo good
Its like a time machine back to the 80s
That police helicopter looks similar to the helicopter in Airwolf. A similar type of helicopter also appeared on Season 5 of the A Team
It's a real helicopter, they just made up all the over the top crap in the Airwolf version. Strangely a lot of it's fairly real now lol

I highly doubt it. This scene was around RUclips couple of years back, edited the same way.

That sweet bastard Jan Hammer really went to work on this scene!! 😀
Airwolf and Liam Nesson...yeah 80's Baby
As badass as it’ll ever get, the music is typical Miami Vice style, swagger and ultra coolness.....
"Taking the Testarossa". DAMN that's one bad ass Ferrari.
The music is amazing !
Love the tone of the song from the scene
2021!!!!!
We love Miami Vice!!!!❤️
Smart man
Welcome to Trope City.
The 80's was the only decade you could have made this show, the soundtrack is just pure alchemy.
0:14 When the Vice has Airwolf, you don't have a chance.
0:16 Nice to see that Stringfellow and Dominic are giving Castillo and the boys a hand with help of “the lady” (Airwolf).
Airwolf and miami vice are in the same universe.

We all know that Samurai Cop would've blown up the van, lit the the driver on fire then yell, "Freeze!"
I can’t say enough how much I love this show!! I just feel like Philip Michael Thomas didn’t get enough recognition!
Smart woman. Tubbs is my man
I agree with you Marilyn.
He really didn’t...he just vanished after the show ended. He was totally eclipsed by Don Johnson.
He was always good looking, even with the beard in season 4. Sonny let his hair grow too long. His hair looked the best in seasons 1 and 2
@@lindacollins903 Yes he was. You are correct about Don Johnson. I always loved Philip Michael Thomas. He was my favorite. ♥️♥️♥️

Miami Vice & Airwolf in one show 😊
The music in this sequence is totally awesome!!!
Castillo is too cool to duck when he gets off the helicopter and they must of put extra hairspray so his hair wont move also !
Cool as ever and with a very funky unreleased track of Jan Hammer!
That helicopter is the same design as airwolf, the bell 222 but I wonder if its the same one used in the show
I wish this was on a channel that you didn't have to pay extra to watch.

Ferrari Testarossa!

Airwolf reference, huh?
