These are some great tips Dan. One tip I'd like to give is don't get too greedy. If you're in too steep of a dive in a strafe run and risk hitting the ground, it's probably best to loop back around rather than risk crashing into the ground to get one more rocket off.
BEST. EVER. TUTORIAL. seeing the EXACT thing your describing on screen is PERFECT as i have trouble visualizing these scenarios, on top of that though is the fact you show how it can go wrong with REAL TIME EXAMPLES!!! seeing you get greedy and crash on strafes and just making the same mistakes as us even at your level is so re-affirming in my training!!! that even when I'm trying my best its okay to kamikaze radio towers in the name of freedom!! THANK YOU DAN, i hope to see you in the skies one day!!!!
Thanks you so much for the kind words! I am really happy it helped. I still have massive problems with being a greedy lil pig and crash all of the time. XD I hope to see you out there too!
Cool thing to know: The SU-57 can stall itself out by holding break. It’s similar to the F-35 vtol mode but you can get out of it faster. Along with this the SU57 is better in the vertical circle fights while the F35 is better in the horizontal fights.
Great vid! My only pseudo-wisdom... third person view when aiming at Infantry makes you a free lunch to Lis players, as you can't see the missiles coming in from below. Yes, more accurate -- but first person view lets you see them & get out of there when they appear. Antisocialelf is a genius of the skies, glad he's got a shout out! Aaaand as a fellow dad, ease in to Home Alone 2 -- it'll be the default Christmas movie for a few years when they get to 6-7 years old. My son finds it hilarious!
11:20 I like to have the camera toggle on a button near the controls, sometimes it's quite useful if you fly over an objective, you can see exactly in which bush the one guy caping it, is sitting exactly. Great video once again, keep it up!
Yeah, too many people just throw on the anti infantry weapon and just focus infantry to boost their KD, which I don't necessarily agree with. You have to be supporting your team by dealing with enemy vehicles. Thanks for commenting!
Nice video and nice flying, I gotta say I was a decent pilot in bf2, but I gave up on flying in bf4 and bf2042 completely. Part of the reason is that I don't seem to hit anything with any minigun. I can fly up to an infantry enemy in solo mode in a nightbird and it's like I'm shooting the air, amazing. It's not much better with rockets, I guess my aim is not really steady while flying. Would you recommend using a pad for flying?
Thanks man! I appreciate the comment. Honestly, you should use whatever works best for you. I've got some squadmates who only ever flew with a controler, and it worked well for them. I've got a pretty good keyboard, which takes sensitivity pretty well, so I am able to guide my aim more easily. You could also check out rifle aim settings on jets, I think most of the best pilots use that. If you search it on YT, you should be able to find a good guide on setting it up.
@@marzipandan767 thx ;) I guess I'll try some time, but some people are wayyyy too good in jets or in choppers, it's rather frustrating to have to fight them. By the way, why the name Marzipan Dan? Do you have any connections to Germany? Just curious ;)
I've always found aircraft too intimidating. I suppose with a little practice I could get it. I hope this isn't a dumb question, but I've had various people tell me that aircraft are more easily controlled with a game pad. Is there an advantage to M&K?
I had the same feeling, but at the start of season 6, I was bored and decided to put some time into it. I documented my learning process in another video if you are interested. I feel like my method of learning worked well, and now I can definitely hold my own in the air. I've heard people prefer both. I think the best pilots use MnK with rifle aim settings because you can bring so precise. I use mostly default settings with space as pull up.
Since last update, dice increased the yaw sensitivity, any suggestions on how to compensate for it ? for me its getting harder to aim at infantry by using A or D due to the sensitivity change, just one click of yaw left or right, the crosshair moves away too much!!
I would think you can change the settings in the menu to find what feels comfortable for you. I've got a pretty decent keyboard that lends itself to sensitivity well, which works for me, so I've not had too many issues.
Glad it's going well for you, I wish more players used fun loadouts instead of radar missiles lol, I have to use flares when I'm merging with another jet just in case they have them. Also in the f35 if I want to do a VTOL move I go into an almost full climb, VTOL and then turn where I want to be as I exit and start the afterburners. Might just be me but I find this way more responsive
Just to be clear, are you saying if I am turning right and I put my rudder so that it is pointing towards the sky, I will turn faster? I've been turning it towards the ground.
@ You will turn tighter basically, but in the same time losing some speed due to applying opposite force, it’s good to use it when you have the enemy jet close to your crosshair but you can’t catch him. Hope it makes sense 😭
@marzipandan767 yeah it takes 4 shots, it's definitely harder than before. It's really hard to get more than 1 kill on a strafe especially on controller
This was my jet learning experience which I documented: ruclips.net/video/uXPjlVM2esE/видео.html I still use the default controls other than pitch up I bound to space bar. Its very uncomfortable at first but just keep on practicing by yourself until it starts to feel better. Good luck, its definitely worth it btw, I really hope you can get it!
I really want to be good at flying aircraft because my aim on foot is not so good, but the flight controls are really hard to pick up when you're beginning. Did you have a lot of difficulty starting to learn how to fly the jets?
I actually made a video documenting my learning process: ruclips.net/video/uXPjlVM2esE/видео.html I strongly recommend putting a few hours into it, as being able to spawn and do decently well in a jet really opens up another aspect of the game. Let me know if this helps! Thanks for commenting!
@Reaper_573 there are a couple of things you can do. 1. Never go in for an attack if you don't have flares. Hang around outside of the map boundaries until they come back. 2. Get comfortable with diving and flying low. This helps you for twofold, you can use this to dodge missiles by putting cover between you and the person who launched it and you can use the below radar mechanic if you are being chased by a jet who is using AA missiles or are too close to an wildcat with AA missiles. 3. Avoid fighting wildcats unless you know they are only using the AA missiles. Their main cannons will kill you faster than you can kill them. 4. Practice dogfighting and learn about cutting into the curve. This is where you try to turn sharper by turning towards the ground or to the sky in order to turn faster. Mostly, it just takes practice. I hope this helps! Happy flying!
Step one in becoming good in BF in a jet, either play with a controller on console, or a stick on PC, a mouse keyboard setup won't cut it. You can easily become an ace chopper pilot or transport Osprey, with keyboard/mouse though.

25mm are my go-to. The 30mms have so much bloom there are impossible to use for me, especially against infantry. They also don't do enough damage to vehicles to justify them as a choice in my opinion. I think they should be like the cannons on the A10 or Frogfoot from the BF3 portal mode, those things shred vehicles. It's a shame because if they were given some love, I think there could be some use for them. What do you think?
This is a minor, somehow unrelated nitpick but the reason why I haven't been playing jets until recently in 2042 is because the supposedly advanced jets of 2042 doesn't have internal weapons bay and still hangs their missiles on the wing It absolutely doesn't affect the gameplay whatsoever but BF4 stealth jets all have that bay that swings open underneath the jet when you switch to missiles and it adds to the cool factor
when i have that luck so i can get in jet.. in 5 sec i got 10x missile warnings and goin down.. and if i wanna dogfight my jet just stops turning idk why i have settings from youtube 2x times and still doing it, and that aiming is just hard.. my aim with infantry guns is best, my playstile from others game with vehicles always dominated server, but in this fcking game i cant get even 1 kill with heli or jet... im desperate
