I couldn't agree more! Especially in BF there are so many ways to play, I'm always surprised when players tell me "I only play infantry and...". It must get so boring.
It's brilliant that you're encouraging people to move into new aspects of the game, and not just rinse & repeat what they're comfortable with. The breadth of the BF offer (even if this is the worst one, I wouldn't know) separates it completely from other FPS out there right now, and certainly CoD. Nobody gets in a Jet / Heli / Tank and nails it on the first night. so just have some fun and enjoy the magic when you're finally rewarded for your work :D
Totally agree. Most of the new players only cry about vehicles instead of trying to learn and master them. They losing all, this beautiful experience that bf games offering, TO PLAY WITH VEHICLES. They crying all day on reddit and they trying to make battlefield into a COD dumpster whe they came from..
I truly feel bad for players who only play infantry in this game. BF is so much more than that, and i think players owe it to themselves to find what they enjoy most about this game by trying everything it has to offer. Thanks for the support as always Timeless!
I honestly think the best way to learn how to counter a certain vehicle is to get familiar with it yourself. In doing so, you find out what is difficult for you to deal with and then can adapt those strategies for your own.
Inspiring, I have always been a boots on the ground squad focused player since BC2, only really dabbling on tank and AA for vehicles. Flying buttons boggle my mind so I always told myself it was bad to take choppers or jets when there are likely good pilots on my team but I didn't even think to fly around in an empty map to learn not crashing.
Yeah it's actually a really valuable resource, since you are right, it feels bad to take a chopper or a jet from someone who knows how to fly when you are likely to just fly it into the ground. Put on a podcast or something and just fly until you get it :) Try it out, just don't be discouraged at the difficulty spike when you move to flying against real players!
Thanks for the video - I recommend that whenever you see Air Superiority in Portal to prioritize playing it. Gets you in some good dogfights against great jet players, it's very humbling.
As someone who just picked up the game. I'm always impressed at pilots. The dog fights look badass from the ground. I wished I was that good. I tried flying and I can say, I crashed 3 times the amount you did, just myself in the map. This video motivated me to try again. Good job!
I'm just like you. I wanted to play BF2042 again and Jets is what got me loading up the game. I always wanted to learn but it felt so difficult but it's starting to get a little easier. Still practicing!
You can do it! It takes a few hours but once you get up and flying against actual players it's a blast! I am very happy I put the time into it and I am sure you will be happy about it too. Thanks for commenting!
Been kinda binging your vids today, just wanted to drop a comment on your professionalism, your badassery, and also your vanilla Skyrim style mastery of all skills pertaining to BF2042. Oh yeah and the Kenny Loggins name drop was epic. Keep it up homie, you'll be a RUclips titan before you know it I bet.
Dan, your journey towards becoming a jet pilot is truly inspiring. It's impressive to see not only your dedication to mastering the complex skills required for flying but also your focus on becoming an effective pilot against ground targets while honing your abilities in air-to-air combat. Your commitment to excelling in both aspects of jet piloting showcases a remarkable level of determination and skill. Keep up the fantastic work, and I'm looking forward to seeing your continued progress and success in both arenas. Your passion and hard work are undoubtedly paving the way for a remarkable career in the skies. Best of luck!
great video wish u all the success i appreciate how honest u are i recently also started flying in bf 2042 bothe helis and jets for the first time in any bf game and the jet life in a real game is a struggle just hearing that beeping sound all the time in itself is enough suffering
Yeah it's been a busy time at work. I try to work on YT stuff when I get the chance but these take time :) Hopefully should have another video out at the end of December!
Great video, i would recommend having a fully zoomed out map to know when enemy jets are spawning, Remember that enemy fighters are the biggest danger to you. If you want to get better at dogfights you just have to try over and over again. The biggest tip i can give is that dogfights are just about managing speed and predicting enemy movements. Also afterburner helps you with turning. Goodluck out there
Thanks! I'm glad that you enjoyed it! The map zoom is something I mean to adjust every single time but forget about. It does seem very important in the aircraft, the jets especially! Yeah, I think practice is going to be the key! I've been picking up some tips from AntiSocialElf too, and hes been really helpful. For example, I didn't know that if you press A (The control for angling the front of the jet left) while turning left you will turn faster, the same is true for pressing D and turning right. It seems to be something that not a lot of pilots know about. Thanks for your tips!
That video was funny and overall very good. First I thought you would have a lots of subscribers due to your high quality content. Keep up the good work and you earned a new subscriber here 😁
It's been a great experience for me. I've gotten much better in my opinion, and just by losing quite a few dogfights I have learned a lot of good techniques. It's opened up a massive part of the game that I didn't think I would enjoy as much as I do! I hope your experience is as rewarded as mine was!
This encourages me to try jets solo but: 1 I don't think I can get a jet in a real game - 2 It would take a very long time for me to learn it - 3 I want my team to win and don't want to take a valuable jet from real pilots. However there have been plenty of opportunities to take control of all other flying vehicles and can use videos on them, including the new hovercraft. I tried the nightbird solo first, I was awful. If anyone can change my mind, it's you. Your approach is the best for me.
1. You would be surprised, jets aren't as popular as helicopters, I've frequently returned to the spawn screen to see two of them waiting going unused. 2. True, it does take some time to learn them. 3. Everyone who is good at flying was at some point bad at it. There are 31, or 63 other players on your team so whether you win or lose isn't completely in your control. I think taking the jet in order to practice is fine. I would say I wouldn't encourage learning the absolute basics in a real game, if you slam into a building without getting anything done because you don't know how to fly, then you did waste it. Flying takes time and I honestly think it is worth adding some air component to your game, as it will help you understand the game more and even help you counter good players, since you'll learn what works effectively and what doesn't.
Now I know this video was made a while ago but a quick tip is if your on us side you can make the jet stationary in the air, if your in a dog fight and the enemy jet is behind you, you can make it stationary and pull back to then get behind and get some good shots
Oh yeah, the VTOL mode on the US jet can catch a lot of players off guard. It's risky if they are good, but if they are turning into you and don't have time to react, it's absolutely worth it!
09:35 Fly your jet over objectives your team has. There's almost always someone on the ground with an AA missile that can quickly bug out a pursuing jet. Also, try to locate the AA tank during the match and fly near it when you're being chased.
Once a good jet pilot is on your tail you won't shake them unless you can outfly or get help from your team. At high levels you can vary your speed and turning angle to outturn or change the angle of your turning circle to intercept the enemy jets, turning tight around buildings and terrain can throw enemy off your tail or make them crash trying to chase you. My jet creds: Other day successfully landed my f18 and repaired in a swamp on Spearhead in hardcore BF3 rapid strike
I've been trying to pay attention to my friendly AA and using them to help me out, to varying degrees of success. Man good work! I miss the days where you pretty much always had to land to repair! I did it a lot with choppers, but with a jet I would think it would be near impossible!
When a jet is flying straight at you flip upside down and loop, 9/10 you can catch them trying to loop left or right and you'll be right on their ass. Also use your rutters to cut the angles, look up high-low yoyo maneuver.
Using the rutters to cut angles has been an absolute game changer and something that I wouldn't have considered at all as a benefit. Like physics-wise I don't expect this behaviour but in game it catches a lot of newer players off guard! Thanks for the tips!
@@marzipandan767 any time! The average pilot in BF doesn't know how to use their rutters and they just loop in the same angle the whole time so it's pretty easy to cut the angle and win the dog fight. Even if they catch you off guard and are on your 6. You can easily get behind them.
I could never fly the jets in previous games, maybe BF 1 excluding. Sometimes after 2042 launch I went to fly BF 4 air superiority to finish some assignment or something. It wasn't nearly as bad as I remembered and I got the thing done and played several matches despite sweaty air hogs and my declining K/D. BF 2042 is a lot different and I learned it like you did, against bots who don't really focus on you. Air to ground missiles are what I use mostly, manage to kill some slower (beginner) helis but enemy jets is something I rarely win against.
Yeah, I will say, I'm not normally a fan of the AI, but their presence does make practicing these base skills convenient. The air to ground missiles seem decent against anything that doesn't have thermal AND APS, but against a MBT or a TOR they can just almost fully block you out. I've been having a great time with the Hydra rockets lately, they recently buffed them, so they feel much better.
Interesting start to your pilot career in BF2042. My piloting in the game has purely been with AI. I didn't think about going portal first and then go AI enemies. I don't currently feel comfortable enough to go against other players. From what i see from the pilots when i am playing they appear much better than me. I have tried the jets and the stealth heli which i can at least control so i can fly without crashing. Like you i also hate the trees. I find the other helis are much more difficult to fly than the stealth one. I will see if it will be better to go portal for the jets and then progress to AI and then live games.
You'd be surprised about the different levels of quality of other pilots. Sometimes, you are right. You'll go up against an ace who will down you immediately, but most of my fights have been pretty even so far. I'd give it a try if you are comfortable against AI. I think the stealth is the worst chopper right now. It's very easy to kill since it is so large and slow. It's great that it can block lock ons, but honestly, lock ons aren't a threat when you learn to manage your flares appropriately.
@@marzipandan767 The stealth heli is the one i have by far done the best with against the AI. I do feel i may try to take it to a live game within too long. The other helis i do far worse with as i usually fail to keep them airborne (crashes). I tried the jets again after the latest update and i am still no good with them. With the jets i can fly around, chase and get hits, but so far not much success in killing the AI enemies. And with me not having the premium pass i don't think i am able to create my own server.
1 big tip is one of the first things you said in the video, "that game would have been ours if it weren't for that sick pilot" How many times have you said this about choppers? 1 good chopper crew backed by an excellent pilot is an easy win. Comms with duo jets = 100% win rate
You are correct, if you and your friendly jets can dominate the sky it does leave the ground much safer for infantry. I guess the usual thing I see is the jets still ignore the nightbird and other choppers. Which is why I was saying that I also want to play a part in the ground game.
I remember the bombers in BF1 had an amazing passenger seat gun. Those were really devastating to an enemy team. I can't say I had much issue with aircraft in BFV. I really think there should be an anti ground plane in the game. It's odd to me why Dice didn't bring the two that are in portal over.
Great video im going through the same process as well. I just got my first honest clean kill with the 26mm and it was life changing 😁. I have the same issue I struggle to shake tails and find it hard turning the same speeds as other jets.
It is really satisfying! It's like a whole other game up there xD There are so many small details in piloting that I never knew, and i dont know how I could have known without someone explaining them. For example, if you are turning your jet left, by rotating counterclockwise than then pitching up, you can turn faster if you also press A (the button that you use to angle just the front of your jet left). AntiSocialElf taught me that right before I posted the video, since he was helping me capture thumbnail images.
Hi,where do you find the jets to start,is there a airfield like battlefield 2.also can you play the old maps solo using bots like the bf 1942 or bf3 in the portal.thanks from a new sub.
Vehicles can only be spawned from the spawn menu. Look for the cog underneath your teams main base, click it and it will open up the vehicle menu. You can play the old maps in portal. Search BF2042 portal mode into a browser and you can set up whatever mode you want against bots.
More people need to try different parts of a Battlefield game. The age-old Battlefield argument about the balance of infantry vs. vehicles would be helpful. There is skill in both. Jets, for instance, are hard to master. Especially with the sheer amount of AA in the game. Dodging missles, Wildcat fire, Stingers, helicopters, and other Jets is a full-time job. Once mastered, you EARNED your kills. The Nightbird is the same way. It's so nimble, yet hard to control. The ground is just as deadly as the other players. The players that dedicated their playtime to mastering these vehicles, have an advantage sure. However, infantry can master their craft to counter. Battlefield has always had these skill gaps. Hence the guys who only play against infantry, hate when a properly skilled pilot wrecks their game. They are the ones who cry that the vehicles need nerfed. Likewise, the pilots who get shot down all the time cry that the AA needs to be nerfed. Both sides could learn to respect the other if they try to master the whole game, not just their favorite parts.
This needs to be permenantly printed at the top of the BF subreddit. I think everyone should at least try to get familiar with all aspects of BF. You will get so much more enjoyment out of it than if you had just stuck to only playing infantry. The interaction between infantry, ground vehicles, and aircraft is what makes this series so amazing. I think instead of nerfing everything to make the top 1 percent less powerful, they should create new counters that are there for people to get good with to fight these really good players. BRING BACK THE SRAW!
As for how to get jets off your tail, you need to employ dogfighting tactics like rolling scissors; or switching, if you search those on youtube you can find guides from older battlefields/real life, but it still applies. That being said, they are pretty difficult to actually implement haha
I definitely think more research is going to help me out. Good pilots definitely seem more slippery and are able to get away from me too often, so there must be some strategy to it :) It's an exciting learning process.
I’ve just about got to a point where I can keep jets from crashing but aiming leaves a lot to be desired. As for helicopters it’s a disaster just can’t fly them and I’ve tried for hours
Aiming is hard, I'm definitely getting better with it, but it's gonna take a lot of practice. Choppers took me much longer to figure out. I started a few years ago in BF4s practice mode, I must have spent hours trying to get the feel for the controls down. It's definitely worth the time investment, in my opinion. Just hop into an empty portal server and fly around until it starts to feel natural.
I always enjoy your videos. I'm a horrible jet pilot and even worse heli pilot. Your video inspires me. I hope to become decent with practice and a good amount of humiliation. 😅
Thanks man :) I appreciate your support! The humiliation is key, if you can't laugh at your mistakes, then you'll just get frustrated xD I hope you have a good time!
In your settings set your jet to auto accelerate, then bind your Afterburner to the W key. Change your roll to the A and D keys and change your rutter (turn left and right) to moise left and right. Now you can move and aim with your mouse like you're playing infantry. In dog fights speed is everything, practice when to use the Afterburner to turn faster and dont use up all of it. You want to use Afterburner when youre about to make a switch or a high-low yoyo. Rutter into your turns, dont just loop in one direction, use your rutters to open the angle and close the angle (high-low yoyo). If you are dog fighting and both of you are looping at the same angle then you are essentially a dog chasing your own tail. You need to rutter left and right to cut the angles so you can get behind the enemy jet.
This is some great advise, thanks! The rutters tip blew my mind and it is very sad how many people don't know that it makes you turn faster! One question, is it a good idea to still bind afterburner to W? I agree it was probably a good thing before the afterburner update, but now doesn't it mean that you are missing out on your fast speed when you don't have any afterburner left?
@@marzipandan767 if you change your settings to auto accelerate then you will always be flying at max speed without having to hold W. Unless you slow down with S but then you'll just accelerate again right after anyway. I kept my afterburner bound to W cause it's easy to press and frees up my shift key. I have shift bound to Look Behind so I can check the battlefield behind me after a strafe or if the enemy jet spawned.
It's hard to start with but you'll get there, when aiming ground targets/ helis at lower altitude with the 25mm aim top left of the target and don't start shooting too early
One of the main things that made me more effective as a jet pilot is accepting that you may not get 50 kills a game, but you need to deny the enemy for as long as you can. What I mean is the Jet is best suited at an AA role, once you take out the enemy jet(s) then your next priority should be gunships and choppers, only when the sky is clear should ground targets be a priority. Unfortunately, my grubby console aim makes it harder to hit infantry, but I still get some and I’m a lot better than I used to be at it! There are some games when you’re being harassed by AA that you’re pretty much just looping around your base waiting for another air vehicle to spawn so you can engage it then return to your base. Sometimes I run with radar/AA missiles if it’s going to be a lot of dogfighting. Pressuring their flares makes it easier for your ground AA to go for them, otherwise the 25mm plus hydra rockets are your best bet, but the jet isn’t really made for solo AT runs. Regarding shaking off the enemy pilot. If they’re good, there aren’t too many things other than standard evasive manoeuvres you can pull off. Sometimes you can try and “Han Solo” them by flying close to the ground and whizzing around obstacles like buildings and the natural geometry. Prior to the afterburner changes, you just held down afterburner and kept turning because that’s the tightest turn radius, but now there is an element of managing your afterburner so you don’t run out in dogfights to ensure your turning is tight enough.
I definitely won't be hitting 50 kills anytime soon. I still think that vehicle kills should count towards something on the scoreboard. The radar missiles are so cheesy xD I come across them a lot when flying in choppers, but in most cases I think it would be faster to just use the main gun to kill them, especially if you can get better with the aim. I've been sticking with the 25mm and the hyrdras. I'm far from making Han Solo plays. When I go below radar to prevent locks its still a 50/50 chance that I'll slam into the ground at this point xD But I'll work on what you said. Thanks for the support Golden! I appreciate it :)
what are your sensitivity settings and mouse dpi? If I turn the sensitivity down the jet wont turn but if i crank it up its impossible to do micro adjustments
I just use the default sensitivies and I think my mouse is either 1200 or 1600 DPI, I think my DPI switch on the mouse recently stopped working so I think it's fixed at one of those values at this point xD
in my experience when a half decent player who can competently control the jet is behind you, like real life, it's basically over. Just got to be cognizant of their spawn at all times and at least then you can meet them in an equal merge. Otherwise use the f35 hover and pray they dont pull up.
It does definitely seem this way. I've noticed what catches me out is when they slow down a lot, I'll overshoot them and then they are on my back but it only works if they slow down right when I lose sight of them, because I don't have enough time to react. I suppose the hover moder would do exactly that.
Small Tip, use the space for pich up 👆and ctrl to pitch down 👇.Also try to put a specific botton on your mouse or keyboard to look back, any time you make a attack after that look directly back with magnification and try to spot enemies , so it's easier to see next target when you turn around. I use on my mouse a left side key and right mouse to magnification 😉. DPI 1600 field of view on Maximum, jet sensitivity on 100% vehicles sensitivity 15% and coefficient at 0% so it's good for doing the evanish maneuvers like the Tunnel and pretty fast for dog fighting, at the beginning try to go against big targets and try not get cannon hot 🔥, a cool map for training avoid tracking missiles ist the season 4 map FlashPoint if I'm not rong. Good Hunt Maverick 😅
Yeah, I've been pondering switching to the 'soldier aim' variant of flying, it might let me get more accurate with the main gun, which seems to be very important. I'm scared to mess with the sensitives until I am happy with the controls. As you can see, I already crash a ton, so I want to grasp those first. Thanks for the tips :) I appreciate them!
It just takes practice. I've got some friends in PC who can only fly on controller and have one plugged in ready to go for when they snag a jet. I bet when you first picked up a helicopter, you felt just as uncomfortable, but with time, you became dangerous.
Can someone help me out with the littlebird? Im struggling to stay on target. My heli sensitivity is 70. Im new to the game so idk what uniform aiming andd all the extra settings are
The chopper god that is Silk: ruclips.net/video/iJdLYK-V-3U/видео.htmlsi=vO-YMvTulIMAGS9p I don't personally use infantry aiming, but players that do swear by it. I will warn you that you'll have to re-learn how to fly with them. I didn't change the flight sensitivity from the default value. I think some part of staying on target just takes a lot of practice. Head over to Solo/Coop and farm some AI infantry for a few hours, and it should be feeling much better.
I always fly since bf4, for me it's just a normal day at office but I remember how I began, it's exciting. I have a good video about configurations but in Portuguese, anyway you can copy some key bindings 😉 if you want I can give you some tips online, we go to a private server and we can fly together.
Thanks for the offer, but AntiSocialElf has already offered to help me, and I'd be a fool to turn them down. Maybe we'll meet in the sky at some point, and you can almost definitely beam me down :)
Try turning off jet 3P Roll camera and play with it for a while. You might like it more as it doesnt feed you unnecessary and unhelpful input that is fast paced turning/rolling background, where u prob wont be trying to spot anything with that anyway.
Is it normal that I can only shoot one of the AA missiles at a time both while piloting heli and jet? I can only shoot one after it locks on, is it normal in this game or is something wrong with my controls/game/whatever? It's kinda weird UPD: nvm you need to remain locked on the whole time, I feel kinda stupid now lol
@@marzipandan767 After playing for some time this sistem makes sense but it was so confusing for someone who played a lot of ace combat. I was really expecting to be able to launch all missiles at once lol
i kinda hate the fact that the vehicles work differently for each side. Like not only do you have to unlock some stuff for both counterparts of the same vehicle for each side, but one side gets vehicles with different hitboxes to the other and in the case of jets and taxi helis you even get a different funcionality... its just so stupid, they could have easily make some made up machines for both sides that would have more or less similar shape and no unique atributes... it would make the game more fair, as well as unlocks for vehicles being universal... thats how it was in bf4 too
I hate (HATE) that you unlock things for different factions separately. If I unlock everything for US MBT there is no reason, I shouldn't unlock the same for the RU MBT. Since you can't choose your team, early on you'll get into a game and realize your MBT is the version you have no unlocks for :( The RU vehicles definitely have the edge in my opinion. The Hind is the most significant offender. It completely dominates the Condor.
It's not that everyone uses the infantry stinger missile launcher, believe me i wish that was the case. It's actually just that one guy who's trying to take out the OP pilot that's killing everyone yet noone seems to care. Can't tell you how many times i wish more people would equip the stinger missile. It actually has better range than the wildcat and doesn't have below radar immunity.
I promise you, as a seasoned chopper and at this point a decent jet pilot, stingers are very ineffective at taking out aircraft players who are actually good. The players who farm your team have no issues dealing with and avoiding stingers. You NEED to use another method. M5, RPG skill shots, the Wildcat's 30mm or 35mm cannon at close and medium ranges (camping in the back won't work), Lissiles, TORs main cannon or coaxial shotgun, or MBT HE, or MPAT rounds. All are much more effective than stingers.
Thats the thing you dont let them get behind you. IF they are behind you it is possible but really hard. If the player is the same skill lvl or bettern than you, then you cant shake him off your tail with out significant help from noobs like AA, stinger noob or liz TV. Also the part where you said, that jets dont have an impact or only a little one on the ground vehicles really tells that you didnt play BF 3 and 4. The jets are in 2042 so bad or well were because the devs said they didnt want a jet carry the rounda lone what the attack jet in BF4 did(only if you are really good bc there were enough counters to it).
I definitely remember the jets, mainly the tank buster jets, in BF4 absolutely melting armour. But I never had much trouble with them as infantry. I also remember the AA tanks in BF4 would absolutely decimate aircraft with their main gun, so I think BF2042s balance is kind of a nerfed down version of all of those. I played BF3 on console so the pilots there weren't anything too special.
Ahh okay i played on PC both and few players including me did go on massive killstreaks like 50 to 0 or something like that. In BF3 that was more often but in BF4 that was only possible with the attck jets. On console most players arent good in vehicles, ofc there are some but they cant beat really good pc players at the same vehicle. Its the same in 2042. Yes the console player may kill the pc player in a chopper for example a few times but not consistantly. For the nerfed version its nearly like that but the infantry has way more broken stuff that they shouldnt have like infinite TV's or the Rao hack ability.@@marzipandan767
Put your 3rd person fov to max you won't lose people visually as much in dog fights. Max your sensitivity out you turn faster... rebind yaw to your mouse and roll to your keys. You will have to start from scratch again... as for learning how to dog fight google "basic flight manuvers" they help in 2042 but aren't as crucial as bfv. BFV was better for doing manuvers than 2042. Also always look in your rear view in third person. You can't see anyone rear view, need a new ground target... whilst you climb rear view, always look in the rear view whenever you can. Spawn... rear view... also over committing to targets as you put it I say "getting greedy" 😂 when you get greedy you die... never push the limits like that the jets pull up like a fat assed brick. Delay flaring till just before the aa missile hits you get longer before the missiles can re acquire you and you can get to below radar or out turn the other pilot. Set your vehicle vertical aim ratio to 100 as well so you have perfect balance for up down left and right aiming you are aiming in a 3d environment all the time up and down are just as important as left and right. You will also pitch faster which can slow you down but also allow you to loop faster with after burner fluttered on and off. Use the after burner to go up, and through the loop part of a loop not the downward side... you will understand this when you learn about the flying aerial egg thing you will see on RUclips in your basic flight manuvers search. But after all this it comes down to experience and learning when and how to cut in on peoples loops etc. Focusing less on what your doing and knowing what they are doing predicting where they are going to be and beating them there.
Wow thanks for the comprehensive tips, I'll definitely check out the basic flight manuvers. I think my vehicle FOV is maxed. I do think I will try to rebind to 'Infantry Aim' controls when I find the time, which is what I think you are describing, even though I'll likely have to relearn flying all again xD I do definitely need to abuse rear view much more, you are right! I completely agree with "fat assed brick".
the jets are honestly so important to the round. good jet pilot -> no enemy jet or helicopters -> your ground team is eating good nothing can kill them really except the other jet so if your pilot is winning those matches they can just clear out the sky, no helicopters means your armor will always have the edge against the enemy armor and that gives your infantry a leg up. probably the single largest impact a single player can have (apart from the nightbird of course which has undergone apotheosis)
Maybe I'm neglecting their overall impact, as you said. It just feels like usually there are always Nightbirds up while I have friendly jets. The new changes to the rockets have been very welcome. They are very valuable at dealing with armour.
I did use the practice mode in BF4 to initially get the hang of chopper flying, its practice range was great for getting the hang of it. It is a shame there isn't anything like that in BF2042 (Portal experiences excluded.).
The choppers are more realistic. The jets are fun, but not realistic. It's a small area so I know why they did it. It's arcade like. I fly Sims like DLC, MSFS.
@@marzipandan767 oh yes, when i am on su57, I always lost, what do u expected in Dice Vehicle and Weapon Designer, all stupid: Railgun tank, Liz TV missle, Shotgun buff withot testing it, OP new DMR,......

Are you sure it won't be too frustrating? I'm still really bad at dogfighting xD
Another vote for Air Superiority to at least help unlock stuff. It may still suck but you should be able to get a few kills in.
@7:53 Dear God LMAO. I was like what a noob then the other TWO jets came into view. Holy hell.
The rare triple noob jet drop!
7:27 man that cockpit view is hilarious! 🤣😂
I appreciate your support and your very kind words man! Here's hoping the next BF game is great and I can just roll on to that :D
Look who is here
great video wish u all the success i appreciate how honest u are
i recently also started flying in bf 2042 bothe helis and jets for the first time in any bf game and the jet life in a real game is a struggle just hearing that beeping sound all the time in itself is enough suffering
9:57 EXACTLY my style of humor xD Great video, really intertaining and informativ!
I was very happy with that one :) I'm happy it got a laugh out of you. Thanks for commenting!
I just started flying jets and this is pretty similar to my experience lol, nice vid
Glad to hear that you had a similar experience, crashes and all :)
Thanks Henti :)
Been wondering what u were doing this whole month, glad someone finally has a decent tutorial
Edit: If it wasn't the trees, it's the 2nd lamp post
Yeah it's been a busy time at work. I try to work on YT stuff when I get the chance but these take time :)
Hopefully should have another video out at the end of December!
I remember i couldn't fly in BF4,BF1,BF5, but i stumbled across uour channel and it made me wanna become those legendary battlefield pilots
Keep up the good work and you earned a new subscriber here 😁
Thanks! I appreciate you commenting and subbing a lot!
This has inspired me to work on my jet skill more. Definitely the hardest part of the game for me.
It's been a great experience for me. I've gotten much better in my opinion, and just by losing quite a few dogfights I have learned a lot of good techniques. It's opened up a massive part of the game that I didn't think I would enjoy as much as I do! I hope your experience is as rewarded as mine was!
loved the crash counter haha, I remember on renewal we crashed a lot trying to pass under the bridge separating the map
You gotta have a crash counter when you are this bad xD Otherwise where is the fun.
Thanks for being my muse :)
Great video, the only thing I don't see you doing is using the rearview camera. I have it bind to the mouse wheel on my end
You are absolutely correct, I need to be using this way more to pick out targets. Ahead of time. Thanks for the tip!
BF Noob here. THis dude the best at explaining stuff. Very methodical!
Thanks for the support, I'm happy you have joined the community :) Hope the game is treating you well!
I love it ! Thank you so much for this video. I will have to practice harder with Jets now. 🙌🏻
Thanks! I am happy that you enjoyed it! I hope it helps you get up and flying!
@@marzipandan767 yes it does. Even more than that it boosted my confidence. Happy Gaming brother. See you in the battlefield !!
09:35 Fly your jet over objectives your team has. There's almost always someone on the ground with an AA missile that can quickly bug out a pursuing jet. Also, try to locate the AA tank during the match and fly near it when you're being chased.
I have definitely abused the safety of my wildcat more than once! Thanks for the tips!
I always start the match with Wildcat full AA setup. I love pilots who bring jets for me.
What a great video, I'm going to try it.
It's definitely worth trying out, but it does take some time to get a hang of it. As I've shown expect to be crashing a lot. Good luck!
Found you accidentally after looking up some guides and liked your vids, that's a sub from me
Thanks Katze! I appreciate your comments and sub :)
Great video very enjoyable
Thanks! I'm happy that you enjoyed it! I appreciate the support :)
I did it a lot with choppers, but with a jet I would think it would be near impossible!
i also just recently started testing my abilities with the jets decent learning curve especially for defensive maneuvering
LETS GOO MARZIPAN DAN UPLOADED
:D
in bf1 all we did to get a fighter off the tail was get in the gunner seat of an attack plane lol
I loved the passenger gun on the bombers! That thing was like an AC130 against infantry!
Youve inspired me to try out jets again
Nice! Let me know how it goes!
1 big tip is one of the first things you said in the video, "that game would have been ours if it weren't for that sick pilot"
How many times have you said this about choppers? 1 good chopper crew backed by an excellent pilot is an easy win. Comms with duo jets = 100% win rate
You are correct, if you and your friendly jets can dominate the sky it does leave the ground much safer for infantry. I guess the usual thing I see is the jets still ignore the nightbird and other choppers. Which is why I was saying that I also want to play a part in the ground game.
LETS GOOO NEW VID
:D
0:40 Yeah that hasn't been the case since BF4
I remember the bombers in BF1 had an amazing passenger seat gun. Those were really devastating to an enemy team.
I can't say I had much issue with aircraft in BFV.
I really think there should be an anti ground plane in the game. It's odd to me why Dice didn't bring the two that are in portal over.
Great video im going through the same process as well. I just got my first honest clean kill with the 26mm and it was life changing 😁.
I have the same issue I struggle to shake tails and find it hard turning the same speeds as other jets.
It is really satisfying! It's like a whole other game up there xD
There are so many small details in piloting that I never knew, and i dont know how I could have known without someone explaining them.
Thanks so much for the help
Just hop into an empty portal server and fly around until it starts to feel natural.
after assigning pitch to space you should assing reverse pitch to ctrl so you dont rely on turning left right for every minimal pitch
Got it! Thanks for the advice. I'll bound it now!
@@marzipandan767 also check out viper maneuver
I always enjoy your videos. I'm a horrible jet pilot and even worse heli pilot. Your video inspires me. I hope to become decent with practice and a good amount of humiliation. 😅
Thanks man :) I appreciate your support!
The humiliation is key, if you can't laugh at your mistakes, then you'll just get frustrated xD I hope you have a good time!
Good tips thx
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Gotta do a follow up!
I'm already improving fairly quickly! Thanks for the advice!
I appreciate your support as always Damien!
I am on controller and I use default settings, I’m dangerous in a helicopter but the jet I feel I struggle
It just takes practice. I've got some friends in PC who can only fly on controller and have one plugged in ready to go for when they snag a jet.
I bet when you first picked up a helicopter, you felt just as uncomfortable, but with time, you became dangerous.
@@marzipandan767 exactly man! Practice makes perfect! Keep up the good videos man. I subscribed
Can someone help me out with the littlebird? Im struggling to stay on target. My heli sensitivity is 70. Im new to the game so idk what uniform aiming andd all the extra settings are
The chopper god that is Silk: ruclips.net/video/iJdLYK-V-3U/видео.htmlsi=vO-YMvTulIMAGS9p
I don't personally use infantry aiming, but players that do swear by it.
It's kinda weird
UPD: nvm you need to remain locked on the whole time, I feel kinda stupid now lol
xD It happens. Though, if you know that they haven't popped their flares yet, only shoot one, otherwise you risk them both being countered.
@@marzipandan767 After playing for some time this sistem makes sense but it was so confusing for someone who played a lot of ace combat. I was really expecting to be able to launch all missiles at once lol
ok count 10 did me in 🤣
Haha, I'm glad that you enjoyed it! I thought I was away scot-free. For a brief period, I praised the janky BF physics!
playing with planes too :) lets say we are in same spot atm
Nice! I'm glad you have also decided to pick up this new skill. It's definitely expanded the game for me :)
i kinda hate the fact that the vehicles work differently for each side.
Since you can't choose your team, early on you'll get into a game and realize your MBT is the version you have no unlocks for :(
The RU vehicles definitely have the edge in my opinion.
I do think I will try to rebind to 'Infantry Aim' controls when I find the time, which is what I think you are describing, even though I'll likely have to relearn flying all again xD
I do definitely need to abuse rear view much more, you are right! I completely agree with "fat assed brick".
the jets are honestly so important to the round. good jet pilot -> no enemy jet or helicopters -> your ground team is eating good
nothing can kill them really except the other jet so if your pilot is winning those matches they can just clear out the sky, no helicopters means your armor will always have the edge against the enemy armor and that gives your infantry a leg up. probably the single largest impact a single player can have (apart from the nightbird of course which has undergone apotheosis)
Maybe I'm neglecting their overall impact, as you said. It just feels like usually there are always Nightbirds up while I have friendly jets. The new changes to the rockets have been very welcome. They are very valuable at dealing with armour.
how to fly jets in bf2042(real guide):
1. buy bf4
2. learn how to fly in bf4
3. switch and adapt to bf2042
4. profit
I did use the practice mode in BF4 to initially get the hang of chopper flying, its practice range was great for getting the hang of it. It is a shame there isn't anything like that in BF2042 (Portal experiences excluded.).
I was so good in bf3-4 best in 3 now I’m terrible😂
Why do you think that is? Does the flying just feel off in comparison in 2042?
The choppers are more realistic. The jets are fun, but not realistic. It's a small area so I know why they did it. It's arcade like. I fly Sims like DLC, MSFS.
Oh absolutely, I think plenty of aspects of BF are very 'arcade-y'. I don't need everything to be completely realistic, as long as it is fun :)
F35 turns faster than Su57, In a dog fight with someone with similar skill, F35 will always win, I always win 1 v 2 dogfight using the F35
Is this still true? I thought DICE were fixing this a while back? It does seem really silly to have one jet be at such a big advantage to another.
@@marzipandan767 oh yes, when i am on su57, I always lost, what do u expected in Dice Vehicle and Weapon Designer, all stupid: Railgun tank, Liz TV missle, Shotgun buff withot testing it, OP new DMR,......
Anyone else use only keyboard when they fly
Lol I can get a noob off of my 6 but not a pro.
I feel like you have to be really attentive and just make sure you don't let this happen.
You can also bind boost with thrust so you boost automatically since in most cases that’s what you’re going to need when strafing ground targets.
I think since they changed the boost you wouldn't want this right? Since you'll be expending afterburner?
