  • In 2013, Wigtown Book Festival in Scotland's was lucky enough to welcome the legendary actor Joanna Lumley. In the course of a wide-ranging and very funny conversation with journalist Andrew Cassell, Joanna talks about her role as Patsy in the sitcom Absolutely Fabulous, The Avengers, the joys of Galloway, Peter Pan and how to survive on a desert island. (Spoiler: the last bit involved making a pair of shoes out of her bra.)
Joanna Lumley was (and remains) a passionate campaigner for Scotland's new National Centre for Children’s Literature at Moat Brae in Dumfries, which was at the time trying to raise money and awareness prior to its launch. Happily it worked as the Peter Pan Moat Brae opened in 2018 (www.peterpanmoatbrae.org).
