    Ever since I could read this story has always been close to my heart. When I feel low it's my go to book and I always end up forgetting what was wrong at the time. Joanne Lumley has always, for me been a legend and 100% gold, shes "AbsolutelyFabulous" So, can u imagine my reaction when I came across this video, a smile from ear to ear with a lil dance.
    This audio is so relaxing and playful, Joanne was truly the only one to pull this off. Thank you world 😊

      The book is so much better than the film. I found disney changed a few important details. Also I think the book has more real magic with real emotions. Brilliant

    Please put ABRIDGED in the title so that people know they are missing lots of parts...it is typically stated abridged/unabridged right up front. This is surely the best version ever recorded so thank you for sharing, I wonder why they didn't have Joanna Lumley record the book in full. What a shame but lovely all the same.

    • @TheMonkeyGrinder

      I don't put abridged in the titles because it makes them too long, so you will usually find any publishing/production info in the description under each video. MG

    • @LuciThomasHardylover-qx6ts
      @LuciThomasHardylover-qx6ts Год назад +1

      And drowning kittens and puppies was quite common at the time 🤷 vets rarely did much small animal care,and neutering and spaying I don't think was even able to be done at the time. Just like humans didn't have much available birth control. It's quite pointed in the story how spoiled the parent dogs are, because it was so unusual. Most mongrel dogs and moggie cats were loved and fed and expected to get on with it! Only pedigrees with wealthy owners would consult a vet for a pregnant animal. Read James Herriot!!Unwanted animals were a serious problem, strays can spread disease. Unfortunately a lot of people felt that popping them in a sack with a weight was a quicker death than leaving them to starve or be eaten by something else,or banging them on the head was too distressing. You can't apply the values of today to 60-70 years ago.

    If we ever get another 101 Dalmatians movie or TV Series I wouldn't mind Mr De Vil Cruella's husband as the main antagonist at least it would be different someone and not the usual Cruella De Vil as much as I enjoy
    Cruella De Vil as the main antagonist we need a different main antagonist of The 101 Dalmatians series I also wouldn't mind Prince and Missis being added as well as Prince being Pongo's brother and Missis being Perdy's sister
    Anyone agree?

    • @LuciThomasHardylover-qx6ts
      @LuciThomasHardylover-qx6ts Год назад

      Afraid not! Dody Smith crafted a story that has been loved by millions over several generations. If you want to make changes on that scale you've essentially written another story! Go for it! Just don't call it 101 Dalmatians! It would be your own work so you should christan it yourself. 😁
