I think you’ve done more for Guinness than any AD campaign ever could. If I were in the Guinness marketing team, first thing I’d do is make you a brand ambassador and have you travel around, drink Guinness and review different pubs and locations. Like man vs food / travel documentary.
Ngl I got into Guinness primarily because of his video on Conor's new stout. I'm an MMA fan and saw Conor promoting the stout in various interviews, so I looked up some reviews on it and saw the Guinness Guru video. First thought was this dude's a fucking troll and I subbed within a minute
I have to say mate, I’m really enjoying the mixing of content. The Guinness guru stuff got me watching you in the early days, but changing up the content is what’s keeping me watching. I’m loving the mix of still doing Guinness stuff but also the travel stuff
I have to be really honest here... because that's what we're here for.... I've heard great things about the pints in Bittles (during the day)....but I have been here on 2 separate occasions at night & was told I could only stand outside in the cold to drink..... And the pints were just rushed out.... tasted really below par to be honest. It's great that they are the best when they are tested, But if they can't deliver that care to every customer that comes to them then you can't really say you're the best. I really hope to get a decent pint here someday. All the best
Just came back from a weekend in Belfast and was disappointed with my pint of guiness in bittles. It was the first pub we went too. After seeing the positive reviews. The pint tasted very bitter and was freezing cold. The staff were constantly asking the customers if they wanted more drinks even tho we were still half way through our first ones. The place itself was really charming and colourfull but unfortunately the pints and the customer service let it down for me. I wanted to like this place but i found so many better places than bittles.
I was in Belfast for afew days holidays during the week and visited Bittles for afew pints of Guinness on Wednesday off your recommendation two years ago. Have to say i wasn't disappointed, the pints were gorgeous 😋. I was lucky it was early in the day and there was room inside as it is small. I must have only missed you, love your content buddy👍
Your video was the reason I first entered Bittles bar a good few years ago and I'm from Belfast... Get a good reception everytime I'm in, I'd visit every so often and the fella Oisin you interviewed there is a sound lad, always very friendly and always goes out of his way for the customers. Great to see an update.
I am from South Africa after I saw your vlog on my next visit to Belfast I went to all the pubs you mentioned in your vlog and Bittles the best coming back at christmas cannot wait to go back Thanks William
It feels like the cost of a pint is going up every week, doesn’t it? That’s why Daragh’s videos are so class - if we’re handing over a big chunk of change for each pint, you actually want quality, so he does the work for us. Pubs like bittles only see a big increase if the proof is in the pudding. Bittles is a great stop for a wee scoop - other spots in the city centre for a nice pint of stout: The Garrick (try their Irish cofffee too), Madden’s, Kelly’s and Duke of York also lovely. Loving the mix of content, Daragh!
Checked out Bittles when I saw your original review of the Guinness in this bar and it's now my favourite bar in Belfast. Aside from a great pint, it's a small intimate pub with no TVs, just chat and a great atmosphere.
As long as it keeps pubs alive, that's the main thing. I love Guinness but the inconsistency of the pints I get served in pubs makes me hesitate to order it, that saying though I've had some great pints in rural pubs.
I worked in a pub you reviewed the Guinness in, you rated it well. It had a huge positive effect on the whole pub as a whole. People still talk about it
I went to Belfast in June and went to Bittles abar purely because of your Belfast review. Was the nest 2 pints I had all weekend and I reckon I had about 22-25 of them 😂
In truth, here in the States we have so many craft options, I rarely drank Guinness anymore. I'd be interested in Guinness sales in the US, as well, since GG and some knockoffs have begun this whole 'best Guinness' thing. And while I've always wanted to visit Ireland, it wasn't until a few of us started watching you and drinking more Guinness that we ultimately made the decision to go to Ireland primarily to tour old, historic pubs and hit the pubs with the 'best Guinness'. Guinness should issue you a 'free Guinness pints for life' card.
I am from Liverpool but have travelled to Manchester 3 times to drink Guiness in Mulligans, purely because of your review Daragh. A scouser bevvying in Manchester!
I've been going in lanigans opposite Central because it was featured in one of these videos. 3 80 for Guinness. The quality is OK too. Was 5 90 when I was in the pogue. Thats a bit steep
I been coming to Dublin and the rest of Ireland since 2018 and I can say that almost everywhere I have been in Ireland has upped their Guinness presentation. North, south, east, west, in the middle of nowhere, the Guinness has gotten better. This especially applies to the pubs in Dublin. People are proud to set a great pint of Guinness in front of the customer and really appreciate the positive feedback. Is that because of the Daragh Curran (Guinness Guru) effect? I'm convinced it's a huge part of the reason. Sadly, just can't get very good pints of Guinness here in the USA. Can't wait till I get back to Ireland next year.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Guinness themselves hire you for quality control world wide. You e done a fantastic job of bringing the quality of the pints to the forefront. Good on you my brother. 💪
I was only in Belfast on Sunday. Done the usual touristy things and then straight over to Bittles for a pint (or 2) of plain. It was so busy that a woman met us as we were going in and said “it’s only outside seats at the moment” We sat outside, enjoyed our drinks and everyone was drinking Guinness . . . . Everyone except for my girlfriend 😂 To be honest, I only went there because of your review. . . . And in the word of Arnold Schwarzenegger I’LL BE BACK
Bittles is worth the hype, genuinely the best Guinness in Belfast. I got married in April and made sure my wife and I visited Bittles straight after our wedding ceremony. The pics of us drinking Guinness there are our favourite of the wedding.
Shite pub if ye want to go in and not have a pint they wont serve ye. Shocking. Love a few pints but this mentality is thick, certainly wont be going here
Daragh move on man seems like your strugglin for content. I love your guinness videos but your the one who said you wanted to branch out. Do lad, do!!!
@@jimmyobrien8738 its only my opinion but im entitled to it as you are yours but as i said id like to see him branchin out like "he" said he was tryin to do. I think itd be better for him is all.
I worked in hotels, nightclubs, pubs and restaurants for 30yrs. The bar trade is dying . 5 yrs time you will see at least another 50% of pubs closing around Ireland.
I was thinking that myself. Most people I know (myself incl.), who drink Guinness don't take huge gulps of it. Maybe it's for keeping up the pacing of the videos?
Guinness isn't to be sipped, it completely changes the flavour. They even tell you on the Guinness store house tour not to sip it like a normal beer. OK maybe multiple huge gulps like darragh does is slightly unnecessary, but you need at least 1 big gulp when drinking.
@@KristianH1986 I've been in thousands of pubs in my lifetime, around a ton of Guinness drinkers too.. never seen that in my life. Seems something a teenager would do to 'prove himself' as a lad or something but watching a grown man doing it is rather.. odd.

That was never gonna happen, as I’ve said before. Guinness is a very conservative, prim and proper brand which doesn’t suit the vibe of this channel

They're a good crowd up there in Belfast. I've always rated their hospitality industry as exceptional.
I was chatting with Eddie a few months ago in the lamp tavern Birmingham. He said guinness sales went up around 20% because of you.
As a British ale drinker, if the beer is not one I like, now instead of larger on a hot day it Guinness 👍🏻
Everyone seems to be drinking Guinness nowadays, myself included.

£6.70 a pint in Mulligans Manchester now, cheers Daragh

With the help of daragh👍
As of 14th Aug it's gone up in price and will go up again on 1st of September rip off
Why would Guinness need DC i mean think about it.
charge hime the price of 10 cokes for 1 lol
