Seeing the 3 generations of Spider-Men on screen was pretty surreal. They absolutely nailed it! Who would have guessed that by treating iconic characters with respect would lead to massive success?
Lol good point. It's not necessarily bringing back old characters back that's bad, it's a matter of making sure they feel like themselves and giving them something of substance to do!
It helped that every actor reprising a villain or alternate Spiderman was able to portray their character consistently with how they were originally portrayed. There were no significant personality changes. I really enjoyed the cameo of Daredevil by the actor from the Netflix series. I always thought those characters should have made appearances in the MCU.
@@domphilbrick I never watched the Andrew Garfield movies. Do you think they changed his character for pot reasons or the writers may not have done their research?
@@GodwynDi Bro. The responsibility line is the defining moment in the comic books where peter decides to become a hero, it is the entire essence of his heroism.
You might not know this but Andrew Garfield on his series was extremely excited to play Spider-Man because he had read those comics and watched those cartoons all his life. He is incredibly humble and you can tell, especially in this new movie where he is acting along side Toby, whom he also watched in theaters. Props to him for that.
Yes! He was definitely the biggest Spider-Man fan out of the 3 actors before he played the role. He’s such a genuine kind of guy. I hope to see his character redeemed eventually. They’ve been hinting to another “Amazing Spider-Man” movie. I just hope there’s a different director
Fan service can normally take me out of the movie when they're not done properly, which happens often, but how they fit the fan service organically into the story was so satisfying to watch.
Honestly, my favorite part of the movie was when Osborne says “You know, I’m something of a scientist myself”. Followed closely by all the Andrew Garfield scenes.
Couldn’t get over Spider-Man releasing every villain on the public. All I could think after may died and he was crying on rooftop is… I wonder how many innocent people Goblin and Lizard are killing right nos
They build a complete weird ass story which makes no sense to justify the fan service. Dr strange doesn’t act anything like dr strange so they can push the stupid story forward. I still enjoyed the fanservice and the Movie in General but it was definitely not organic
Garfield really shined in this. LOVED his take here and how he was just so happy to meet the other two. Also really liked how Doc Ock became an ally in the final fight.
@@stutteringcris468 Andrew is the best actor easily out of the three why is everyone only appreciating Andrew now? @@zeeo3147 the poor writing definitely overshadowed his excellent performance as Spider-Man, if Andrew had better writing I think he would probably be everyone’s favorite Spider-Man
They didn't just make Tobey and Andrew's appearances some tacky cameos. They actually made a relevant impact not only on Tom Holland's story but on their own. This movie was incredible.
I think they need to make an andrew garfield apiderman 3. Maybe he can seek out dr strange to turn back time since the time stone might still exist in his universe
@@notyournormalguy_45 why would you bring different actors for characters that andrew and tobey portrayed? It would be more disrespectful to do it that way than what they did in the movie

You know what else was pure gold about the movie? The Matt Murdock cameo, and the fact that they just officially established his canon in the MCU, pure gold.
Seeing matt Murdock was so freaking awesome. It felt a little cheap(maybe not the right word, conveniently forced?) Like it was just to bring his character in to the MCU, but it was still amazing seeing him in the film for sure
@@camraging641 Definitely not thousands, though. I also don't know why you say 60. That seems like a very specific number and I'm not sure there's anything to back that up.
Not only does this use the nostalgia of the old characters for the benefit of the audience, they use it to properly mature and advance Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. The world’s longest origin story
I'd argue Doctor Octavious is technically not evil. I mean his arms killed all those people not himself. Plus I feel for Otto, he was trying to help humanity with cheaper energy, too bad it cost him his wife.
Yes but his character is supposed to be egotistical and immature. This was highlighted in Spider-Man 2 when he literally ignored important testing precautions. Yes you can be placed with horrible circumstances but it’s your character that ultimately can separate you from the darkness that seems to be consuming your life around you OR realizing all the good things you’ve experienced in life is what you carry with yourself to resemble your own light in the darkness around you. Making your own light brighter is what separates Peter from Dr. Otto. This is why Peter is one of the purest heroes, because he was able to help Dr. Otto realize that, since Peter’s own light is so bright.
You're missing the point of it and narrow it down too much. It's still Dr. Octavius, with or without the dysfunction of his neck-chip-thingy, so no, it's actually not correct to entirely assign the source of all evil to "his arms". They're "only" the enabler of evil - and like @Bro_soldier mentioned, it is HIM who created the arms, their chip and ultimately himself.
@@matthewheben6161 you’re so right! He had to have been smart enough to calculate all the possible outcomes of his experiment but he just focused on one! You can blame him still and he even went against traditional scientific procedures. I’d say he was an enemy to science as well.
Doctor Octavious was the good guy who was consumed by greed, his arms may of had a mind of their own but he has the power to control them, he was so obsessed by his own creation that it kills everything else he loves, and changes him, due to him not allowing the project to fail he short circuits the arms which makes him evil.
@@bro_soldier642 Yah! It's like...are his eyeballs moving? Does he has facial expression? Does he gesture? Is his mouth moving - in a way that produces sentences align with the narrative and actions of the tentacle arms?!
What was most fun for me was seeing how visibly Maguire and Garfield were enjoying themselves. You can tell that both of them, especially Garfield, are genuinely happy about being back in the Spidey suit and it adds a lot to their performances
I was surprised that I was the only person in the theater that laughed at the part where Norman Osbourne tells Tom Holland Spiderman, "I'm something of a scientist myself." 😳
“Doctor strange is not the type of character to do something so reckless” Didn’t his entire character pretty much happen because he was driving 90mph on a mountain pass road while it was raining and he was on his phone?
Exactly. While he has certainly gotten a lot more wiser, he still has that arrogrant side to him, that "I can fix anything" side. Even in the comics he was like this.
I'm amazed they pulled off such a huge spectacle. That film was so many moving pieces that weave together so perfectly. Almost like a beautiful spider web.
I watched it in theaters and I completely FLIPPED OUT when Daredevil made the appearance as his lawyer. That was such a small detail that wouldn't have catered to everybody but Daredevil is one of my favorite shows so I was trying not to scream!
I don’t know if age plays into this, but I was 21 when Spider-Man came out in 02. It was so fresh and new at the time. The 2nd one was the best of those three imo. I was reluctant on Garfield taking over the reboot, but when I saw it I couldn’t believe I was thinking “wow, THAT was Spider-Man”. The 2nd Garfield one had issues sure, but it’s super over-criticized. And the Holland ones have always felt like he was never really the “lead”. No Way Home was absolutely the best of all of them. Yeah I know, it’s like saying Endgame was the best Marvel movie, but it’s still a tremendous wrap up. And if anyone didn’t get a little choked up when Garfield saves MJ….I don’t know what to tell you.
You know a film is good when even an old curmudgeon like Ben Shapiro likes it. I can see the headlines now: “Ben Shapiro defends No Way Home with facts and logic”! 😂
Honestly the movie wasn’t that good other then for all the OG characters showing up. I thought the overall plot was pretty lame. I liked the one before this with Mysterio better. But seeing wilem Defoe, Andrew Garfield and Toby maguire back, completely saves the stupid plot line
@@sdaftermath123 maaan I respect your take as all this is subjective anyway but we all know you’re in the great great minority (to say the least) for liking FFH over this one.
When Garfield's Spider-Man had a chance to save MJ, this may be the very definition of catharsis. How many of us have made mistakes and wish we could go back in time and save ourselves from the very things that made us the people who we are today, a paradigm. In the fantasy world of film, we get the chance to vicariously live through our modern day mythic figures. I had a great experience watching this movie, total reco.
This felt like Tom Holland's Peter Parker true origin story movie especially with the ending. Peter ends up all alone, in an apartment, no one knows him anymore, he promised his friends he would make them remember him but Peter decided it was best to leave them alone. Besides the beggining of the film 9/10 movie
@@LionMob so much cap bruh the second one was great, mysterio was a hell of a good damn villian and really created some new boundaries of spiderman movies as he was the first villian to dox spiderman in live action
Instead of fighting each other, we can all feel the connection of our humanity here, no matter what your political beliefs are, we all had the biggest smile in our face seeing 3 spider men all on the same screen, it's quite beautiful how our childhoods can bring us together
I think regardless of who anyone personally believes is "correct" regarding the villains, Peter Parker is the kind of person to value life no matter what, and his decision to do what he believes is right even at the cost of great loss and suffering simply because he believes it's the right thing to do is pure Spider-man for me
@@Peter-lr7by Yeah, albeit in a less ominous way than batman where he doesn't due it because he's aware hes just as insane as his enemies and fully believes he will become a ruthless killer if he crosses the line. Spiderman has killed a lot more than batman has, yet retains his sanity. For spiderman its much more a principal of goodness compared to batman which is more of a mix of goodness and fear. Fitting considering spiderman is the much more cheery character.
Yep Ben was pretty wrong about some of his Cristian because he's thinking to realistic and not releasing that Spiderman thinks more heroic then realistic. Helps that he exist within comics and not real life lol.
@@JalinTelevision That's a good observation but also precisely the point! The question is not that Spider-man as a character does not kill under any circumstances, he has; the thing is that based on what he has gone through he learns to value it. The brilliance in that scene is that the previous "Spider-men" have gone down that path and know it doesn't bring closure or anything positive really. It goes to show that making those moral choices is truly hard, holding yourself up to those ideals realistically is almost impossible especially dealing with personal issues, and Peter is but a kid. But having someone who has dealt with the same stop him from committing a mistake out of grief in my opinion was truly a great moment, and cemented why he must respect and honor what May stood for.
There was a very specific reason why MCU Spidey’s Character never had any personal tragedies up until this film, and that was because his story arc was going to be limited at best due to the contract. Spiderman was only given to the MCU for two stand alone films and three collaboration films, so his character was there to enhance the MCU story arc. Now that he is in the MCU for more films and the MCU arc has finished the Infiniti War saga, they can now focus on his character development more.
I remember reading when Tom Holland was cast that he was considered the perfect combination of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire. Remember them saying that Tobey was the best Peter parker, and that Andrew was the best spider-man. When they are all introduced in the movie Andrew is in his complete Spider-Man outfit, Tobey is not in the costume at all, and Tom sees them both wearing the costume on his lower half but not wearing the mask. I think that was all on purpose
i srsly can't see Tom as spiderman and peter parker, just another awkward teen, and incredibly annoying at that too, he belongs in sappy teen/disney love /musical drama movies.
@@drakke125Channel I kind felt the same about him at first, but he started to grow on me after end game, and I have to say no way home sealed the deal for me. Regardless he’s been the new face of Spider-Man for the time being wether we like it, or not lol.
I think my favorite part is how Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker is allowed to shine. His interactions with Ned and MJ reminded me of actual interactions I saw between high schoolers and university students when I was that age.
Agreed. *spoilers below* When he caught MJ and got "redemption" for not catching Gwen, I legitimately teared up a bit. SO cool that they gave him that moment.
This movie was great! No wokeness! They treated the characters with respect. And guess what? It made a ton of money because it wasn’t pushing a stupid sjw message. No identity politics. A good story and good characters.
They kind of tried to shoehorn in an immigration theme with Aunt May with the whole “We need to help these people, they’re sick and they need a home”. But then she promptly gets killed by one of them so I guess that message kinda goes down the drain.
I'd say the only reason Dr. Strange agreed to do the spell in the first place is because it was never supposed to go wrong. With that happening, it actually builds the story to not only this movie, but also the next Dr. Strange movie. He decides to explore the multiverse with Wanda. I think it was great.
Yeah, and two other points. This is the guy who operated on that dude with a bullet in his brain on the spot, and saved him, AND just recently was instrumental in defeating Thanos. So he's feeling pretty cocky. Second, the point at which he agrees to do this is when Peter says "This isn't about me", showing he doesn't care about himself, but others. That was the lesson Dr. Strange learned in his movie, and made it so that he wanted to help. P.S. Ben probably won't like Multiverse of Madness
The real truth is that someone in Wanda vision said that scarlet witch is stronger than sorcerer supreme so he took it personally and westviewed entire multiverse.
Holland punching Defoe during their first fight, and Defoe not feeling any of it, but starts laughing was just the most beautiful moment for me! That fight was the best part, in my opinion.
@@Senth99 Dafoe after all these years hasn't lost even an ounce of his Green Goblin character! It truly was an exciting moment. Seeing the other villains looking like "What the fuck?" was very satisfying!
I liked this movie alot, and my wife caught me teary eyed a couple times. And I like that they kept the other Spiderman characters legit by having them be from the other universes.
He wasn't curing schizophrenia, he was curing the chemical substance in Norman Osborne's blood that caused him to have psychotic breaks with reality. Doc Ock and Electro were both mechanical problems that needed to be solved.
I'm not sure believe Electro's was a mental problem, he was pretty much the same character after being cured, he just kinda knew there was nothing that could be done. I mean I guess it could be argued that he was corrupted by the capability of his powers, but from the small bit after being cured, he doesn't respond in a way that suggest he was criminally insane.
Norman can't be saved anymore because he now needs the serum more than ever because he's gonna be jailed when people find him. Plus now he has no more powers.
It was amazing, like a dream come true. I couldn't believe they actually got the other Spider-Men and let them play such a big role in the story. So many elements of the movie work so well.
The music dog. There’s this one song that they have different versions of during the sad parts of the movie you probably know what I’m talking about, so damn good. A tear was shed
Honestly this movie has the most depressing ending in all of the mcu. They have Tom living the plot of its a wonderful life. Just a heart wrenching ending.
I think we're just going to have to trust that it won't be the end. They've all signed on for at least 2 more movies so I think that's a pretty good indicator that somehow they remember/know Peter again. But yes it was very very heartbreaking 💔
I never expected the film to be this good. The old characters got the respect they deserved and having all three Spider Men was awesome. Willem DaFoe also stole the show and was much creepier in this film than I remember him being. Maybe it’s the fact that he doesn’t wear the goblin mask. DaFoe really nailed it. All of the actors did.
I loved how they changed Green Goblin and Electro’s appearances to more resemble their comic book counterparts. That was a small complaint about Spider-Man (2002) and one of many problems with The Amazing Spider-Man (2014)
I agree with this review. I thought they threw Dr. Strange under the bus, but at least they salvaged it a bit from the preview. He looked even more immature and careless when Wong tells him not to cast the spell and he does it anyways (Scene was deleted or reshot). They also salvaged it a bit by explaining that the spell shouldn't have resulted in such a failure. Which suggests there is a larger problem in the multiverse that it happened. So you can't blame Dr. Strange for taking such a massive risk. But I agree that it seemed odd for Dr. Strange to be willing to erase memories of hundreds of millions of people just because Peter can't deal with the fallout. Another problem I had with the film is how Strange pretends as if he never had a life before being a magic user. Overall a good movie. Better than most of the Marvel crap movies released in the last few years.
Doctor strange is known to be reckless and careless in the comics and also you refuse acknowledge that change was helping him as the ancient said it is not about you so he was helping someone else
Willem Dafoe is one of the most interesting actors out today. He’s doing some really cool movies and has been for a long time, but definitely look into his movies if you aren’t familiar with him, he’s really good.
Andrew Garfield was the star of the movie for me, fantastic performance, was a pity they gave him such horrible stories for his movies. Would love to see a third one with him of his descent into "not pulling his punches" although Im not sure how you would end that kinda movie
Really hoping the rumors are true that Morbius and Venom from Sony are going to be in the Andrew Garfield universe. Andrew Garfield taking a much darker approach to Spiderman with those 2 villains would be great to see.
I cried watching this movie so much! I loved every moment of it! 😭😭😭 tobey maguire was my childhood crush and seeing all of the Spidermen together just MY HEART
It was the combination of Tom holland’s own genius and Tony Stark’s machine that he was able to cure the villains. So to be fair it was stark who also helped in a sense. Also I believe Toby’s Spider-Man was the one that cured goblin as he stated he was thinking of a cure for him for a while and that he’d work on it.
this 'genius' from tom holland's peter parker was never once established. We're expected to 'believe' it simply because he's able to use Tony's tech from the 2nd movie. Tobey graduated with good grades from college, Garfield was a freaking inventor. Tom Holland had tech/suits/satellites/weapons of mass destruction served to him on a platter When are people gonna wake the shock up.
@@drakke125Channel I mean Tom did make his own web fluid from scratch while Garfield simply got his from Oscorp. So it’s not like they didn’t hint at it.
I loved the reaction of the audience when Toby McGuire walked through the gate. Even though I knew he'd be coming I was super freaking excited. He's the original Spider-Man. They even acknowledged how me makes his own web. This movie was top notch.
To be fair, when Spider Man’s identity was exposed in the comics, he asked Dr. Strange for help. Strange performed the mind wipe spell for him as a favor, but unlike the movie it actually worked. I assumed this was a reference to that.
No matter if it was done or not. Benedict Cumberbatch Dr. Strange isnt comicbook Dr. Strange. Tom Holland Spider-Man isnt comicbook Spider-Man, MCU isnt comicbook. priority should be to have consistent characters. If he is reckless he should be reckless until sth change him, if she is stupid she should be stupid until she learn sth. If Dr. Strange says that mystic balace is most important and that death of someone is not important then he should never do this spell. Plus How the box works/suppose to work. Why Spider-Man have to hunt them and not just push the button?
@@Just_a-guy , maybe because if they push the button on the box right away, who knows what chaos the villains will caused before they get sent back. Goblin might be throwing bombs around and if you send him back before you can stop him from letting the bombs go off, you’ll just be causing more damage. Plus, don’t you think the citizens of the city have already seen too much? I think the last thing they want to know, is that a wizard opened a world to more dangerous Spider-Man villains.
@Osman Yousif I understand this that no matter where someone is in this universe he/she would be send home when the button is pres. So why hunt them? If they have to be close why you want to leave Green Goblin in your universre?! Strange sound like guy who would want to send them back no matter what because that is what multiverse needs. Some universe could and would be bad and you cant fix it. Like when you watch animal document about seals you want them to escape but in animal document about polar bear and the fact that her children will die without seal meat you want them dead
What Dr. Strange does actually is in character. He really is quite reckless. After all, the reason he became a sorcerer in the first place is because he was texting while driving 100 mph in the rain on a curvy cliff side road.
Dr. Strange is reckless because he is arrogant. He loses a lot of arrogance in the process of becoming Sorcerer Supreme. Mastering the Mystic Arts has probably allowed a slight return to that "I've got this under control" aspect that causes him to make decisions that ultimately prove dangerously short-sighted.
Nahh, Strange was just unaware of the split of the timeline. He had used that spell before and nothing ever happened because as we saw in Loki the TVA kept preserving only 1 timeline, hence why Wong mentions they know very little about the multiverse because it hasn't existed until now. At the end of Loki the timeline splits and Strange is not aware of it as he was probably still in dust and never noticed it when he returned (Time passes different inside the TVA). This time when he cast the spell and says "everyone" all timelines get affected and that caught him by surprise.
Same! Easily the best live action spider man film since Spider Man 2. I thought it was a brilliant choice the way it ended, but it was also a great start of a new trilogy
@@YiminyCricket I absolutely agree with you lol. I usually just watch films on my computer 😅. But a movie event like Star Wars The Force Awakens, Avengers Endgame, and Spider Man No Way Home MUST be experienced in theaters
Normally plot holes are the type of thing to irk me, but if the story and production of the movie is top notch, I'm willing to just turn an absolute blind eye to it, which is what No Way Home did for me. Speaking of one of the big plot holes is that, Sandman doesn't need to be cured, he's already gone through a redemption ark and supposedly is a good guy now, which the movie basically implies by having Flint know who Peter is and having him help Peter. Furthermore, Sandman and Connors, DO NOT die, so I was like just send those two back. And the third one that I think on the top of my head right now is, Doc Ock's death is kind of necessary, unless it's implied the fusion reactor is stopped another way without Octavius dying. Otherwise, loving the fact this movie ties in the triology in a roundabout way to tell us the story of Peter's MCU origins into becoming a fully fledged newly experienced Spider-Man.
Spiderman 2 is still the best imo. When Peter understands that meaning(responsibility, sacrifice of the self) > personal satisfaction(selfishness). That brings the most important message of all spiderman movies (the peak scene when he saves baby from the fire by just being Peter, which shows the viewer that you can be hero too).
Couldn't agree more with you if I tried. :) I don't like many superhero movies with the exception of TDK trilogy, Man of Steel, and the late 90s/early 2000s Marvel movies... but I can watch Spidey 2 and always see how it painted the way for more mature storytelling in these type of movies. I always get very emotional in Spiderman 2 at the apartment scene with Ursula. ruclips.net/video/bvfocydg9Qk/видео.html
The green goo was supposed to reverse the effects of the super serum that the Green Goblin had in him. The super serum he had in him was identical to Captain America's, giving him super-strength, agility, and durability, except it had its flaws. Giving him a separate identity. The dementia was a result of old age, ontop of him having a split personality. He is aware that he takes on the persona of the Green Goblin, except he isn't entirely aware of what he does during those episodes.
I was gonna be mad that you said it’s 2nd best movie next to Spiderverse… but I couldn’t deny how unique that movie was and how it was it’s own thing while making references to the classics.
The only thing I disagree with is Ben’s criticism of the characterization of Doctor Strange. His willingness to perform the spell wasn’t a show of recklessness but instead a show of arrogance, which is entirely in keeping with his character.
This what I’ve been seeing. Rewatching Doctor Strange this was totally in character. He’s very arrogant and constantly trying things he “shouldn’t” be cause he’s so full of himself
this is by far the best review I've seen of this movie, no political opinions, just straight up a review from a genuine fan with a grounded understanding and appreciation for previous films as well as appreciation and understanding for the characters. Thank you for this, it's very refreshing.
When Tobey appeared… I was in disbelief, in awe and just overall excited. I say disbelief because after Spider-Man 3, Tobey wanted nothing to do with the series onward, so for him to come back was something.

The healing part of the movie can make sense as technology in the Tom Holland's universe seems much more advanced ( possibly due to Stark's influence and contact with aliens outside the planet ), so their medicine is also more advanced.

What they did was really good. It honestly feels like the "Home" Spider-Man trilogy is like an entire origin story up until the very end of No Way Home where he finally becomes the Spider-Man we all know
by forcing him to fight actual and major spiderman villains 'after' his face is revealed, honestly its an interesting time/parallel world story, but its still way too forced and shoe-horned in. He barely even started his spiderman career and suddenly got a spider suit from tony stark from avengers.
@@drakke125Channel which is honestly why I like the ending of No way home even more. Andrews and Tobey’s Spider-Man were given a shit hand in life and Toms was given a good one and yet he CHOSE a shitty life he actively chose it. That’s as Spider-Man as it can possible get in my opinion 🤷🏻♂️
@Tylerman2400 that is EXACTLY the case. In hindsight, NWH will make the other two movies age very well regardless of whether or not you liked them. It’s very evident now that this trilogy was a coming of age/origin story for the character and honestly I think that’s GENIUS and external authentic. Seeing his growth over multiple films is much more believable than seeing immense character development in 20 minutes
I completely agree. Peter truly becomes Spider-Man when he is told that timeless saying: “with great power comes great responsibility”. Across all the comics and movies. No Way Home was the true origin story of Spider-Man.
Dr. Strange was likely willing to help Peter because he said it's not about him and that it's really hurting a lot of people. This echoes what the Ancient One said to Strange "it's not about you.".
Nah. He wanted to help Peter because it took him years to be a fraction of what Peter already is, specially at his age. He knew that Peter is worth it. But as always he proceeds to forget that not everybody knows magic. Soooooooo, he doesnt brief Peter about the spells working. And thus.
True, I think also because Strange is naturally cocky in his craft. Like he always tried to one up his game as a neurosurgeon, he sees a fun activity in casting a powerful spell that he’s attracted to.
Defoe and Molina are wonderful. They took their roles seriously in a time when comic book movies weren’t anywhere as mainstream and cool as they are now. And because of them, we got this awesome collaboration like 20 years later. Truly great.
To add to your idea, the fact they took it so seriously and realize how much we appreciated that, then took it so seriously this time, it really adds up
I feel like Doctor Strange casting the spell was less to do with Peter’s request and more to do with curiosity and just wanting to try it. He’s been like that since the first Doctor Strange. Trying anything and everything. Seeing what might happen with these new powers he’s learned.
Doctor Strange already said he casted the spell already, he was curious to cast the spell, he wanted to do it cuz he knew how important Tony was to Peter and knowing that he kinda caused his death, he has this built up guilt. Doctor Strange knew what he was doing but the constant changing of the spell and the talking disrupted it.
Noticed that Green Goblin didn't just kill Aunt May, he also killed a fuckload of cops in the same seen. Really grim. Added a lot to the weight of the film.
This movie was a piece of amazing art. Loved to see Andrew Garfield getting his proper resolution with the character. 1) No Way Home 2) Amazing Spider-Man 2 3) Spider-Man
There was no creativity made by the producers it was a lazy attempt to pull on peoples heart strings and bring back the nostalgia but if you analyse the film and remove the old characters your left with a boring film but thanks for giving your mindless sheep review showing exactly the producers east attempt to pull the wool over your eyes lol
Hands down the best spiderman they could have done. Was honestly perfect. I cried for an hour straight of being so happy. Marvel gave us what ever fan has been waiting for

You want to read it over and over again. This movie brought back the exact kind feeling in which every Spiderman fans want to watch it over and over again. I personally have watched Spiderman: No way home four times already and still want to watch again many times more.
I've heard that McGuire was supposed to die at the end when Goblin stabbed him. But test audiences didn't like it. So they reshot the ending so he lives.
I really wanted that Tobey to be the one that said the great power great responsibility line. Cause then he would have been his own Uncle Ben. But I got admit that the way they had Aunt May say it was excellent
He was supposed to be close to death until the Tom Hardy Venom appeared and used some of his symbiote to heal Tobeys Spider-Man turning him into the Black Spider-Man again and then getting back his symbiote.By doing that he would get his White Spider Symbol as Venom. But they didn’t end up doing that because they may have plans for a Tom Holland Spider-Man movie against Tom Harry’s Venom - Andrew Garfield Spider-Man.Or even a Knull movie with Venom the 3 Spider-Man against all the Symbiotes and the Knull.
I personally expected about the same as Ben in that the story would suffer due to the callbacks, but I was still surprised that he gave it that much praise. It definitely deserves it, but I wasn't expecting it.
I think the part where Dr Strange is responsible for the whole mess might have been him doing a favor to an old "squadmate". He did say they saved the world together. But as pointed out by Ben that the moral is that Spiderman cannot get everything he wants, which we see in the end. So actually the plot makes sense from beginning to end.
The critique is that it is out of Dr. Stranges character, not that it isn’t fitting for the story. Him doing Peter a favor seems kind of weak reasoning to do what he did, especially with the sorcerer supreme advising against it. I LOVED this movie, but I thought it’s only flaw was Strange messing with the multiverse in the first place for a kid who can’t get into college. What was even kinda dumber was him saying to Peter, why didn’t you just beg?
@@jamespope7669 yes it was why the fuck would you do a spell for a teenager that could fuck up the world let alone let a teenager watch you and talk while doing the spell? It made dr strange look like a moron and lets not fprget he is supposed to be a doctor not a teenager trying to impress his friends
@@jamespope7669 it was 100% stange's fault. He knows the spell and has done it before, but doesn't take 10 seconds and ask who peter wants to remember him. So stupid.
Doctor Strange's "motivation" is helping Peter using a spell he thinks is relatively harmless (he shrugs it off mentioning a party that Wong forgot). He doesn't willingly open the multiverse allowing for the second half of the movie. He specifically is working to undo that spell.
Yea I thought the same. It didn’t appear like he believed it was all that dangerous. On top of that whenever he saw that Peter wanted to do it for others it called him back to that moment with the sorcerer supreme where she told him essentially the same thing (that it’s about the ones around you). I just think they could’ve done a better job at making this apparent because his motivation/attitude wasn’t completely clear and is easily ridden off as a less serious Dr. Strange
true opening the door was an accident after a straightforward spell got overly complicated and unstable, though he was unusually keen to jump to brainwashing the planet, and then very annoyed that peter was willing to brainwash everyone before lodging an appeal with the university, even though that was only half the problem as his exposure was ruining their lives in general and that just a few seconds ago he was doing it without asking peter any real questions or considering ANY other options before attempting to do so!
I guess it's all a bit of a play on the concept of "Be careful of what you wish for" which essentially means that you should bring a lawyer before you make your wish. Though the important part was that Strange wasn't doing the spell for Peter, he was doing it because Peter saw how other people's lives were being ruined and destroyed. Though unfortunately for him his selfless wish started becoming a selfish one that would result in him losing everything.
@@divinecomedian2 well no he was essentially casting an exemption into the spell each time peter added someone else he wanted to keep there memory, it was actually done well visually as one ring of light surrounded them for each addition, so he started with one ring but by the end was balencing several and it got out of hand, kind of like hading more balls to a juggler, yeah he can keep a few more in the air but you cant keep handing him more and more
The use of the Sam Raimi Spider-Man clips... particularly the oft maligned Spider-Man 3 clips... was a real *chef's kiss.* Particularly "Ya gonna cry?" and "I'm gonna put some dirt in your eye." I chortled heartily.
I don't get emotional very easily, but man that moment when Tom Holland realized that everyone he cared about would have to lose their memory of him was pretty rough.
Honestly I found the empty apartment scene toward the end to hit more harder. It's one thing to have everyone forget about you, but to start from ground zero is even more brutal.
Well it’s not Strange’s fault for bringing in people from other universes. It’s rather Sylvie’s fault for unleashing branched timelines (multiverse). So if Sylvie didn’t kill who he remains and kept the sacred timeline stable, Strange’s spell wouldn’t have any consequences.
That would also explain why it wasn’t a big deal for him to do spell in the first place. He could’ve not imagined that a simple memory spell could open doors to other universes.
@@cjlilbaby it's really not, Strange said he uses that spell all the time for the smallest things, if he's simply distracted by a kid and messes up the spell then theres something wrong with him, it was the Sacred Timeline reaching its threshold that caused him to mess up. Otherwise this couldve happened anytime. Keep in mind that any moment in time the multiverse couldve opened, even in The First Avenger, the Citadel has no time so it affects all and every timeline existing.
Exactly how I felt about the movie. Only thing I wish they'd done differently was figure out a way to bring back vulture to make it a true sinister six movie. I'm not sure how that would have worked though.
@@ohmcharan Yeah but they only brought him to the MCU to leave behind a little bit of the symbiote for Peter to maybe find in the future. Only part of the movie I was on the fence about. Maybe Venom will be back with Spider-Man for a later film. Other than that, what an amazing movie! Can't wait to see it again!
Willem Dafoe was amazing. Somehow he managed to shock with a transformation from good to evil that we all saw coming. Then he proceeded to steal every scene he was in. An amazing performance from a legendary actor.
Hey finally a movie review I can agree with! This movie was amazing. The Andrew Garfield Spider-Man was the best, and him catching MJ was heart wrenching. It showed the depth of PTSD and the whole movie showed a huge character arch
I really enjoyed the 3 Peter Parker's working in the lab showing off their intelligence. The scene with Holland and Osborne was very impressive as you could tell that Osborne was truly impressed with Peter no matter which Osborne was watching.
I’m still a little confused on the wish. Peter wishes everyone forgot he was Spider-Man, but that results in everyone forgetting who Peter Parker is. Also, did the wish also destroy all video and written evidence of Peter?
Peter had to make a new wish as his previous one for everyone forgetting he was Spider-Man could no longer apply to help close off the rifts in the multiverse and send everyone home, these rifts causes every single Spider-Man villain in the multiverse who knows Spider-Man’s true identity to make their way to OUR Peter’s universe. Mind you, the multiverse rifts started to tear open because of Green Goblin detonating his pumpkin bombs in the magic cube earlier, which resulted in releasing the already unstable contained spell. So, in order to prevent these villains from from coming in, Peter had Strange enact a new spell that would make everyone in HIS universe to forget who Peter is, safely sending everyone back to their designated universe, and most importantly prevent the multiverse villains from coming through. As for the video and written evidence of Peter, I’m sure the wish erased all of that too. Hope this cleared things up :).
Yeah. The beginning and the ending didn't make much sense. But the middle was great! Simple wish at the beginning could have been: Make everyone forget Mysterio's video message. The end. All problems solved.
@@PhilBagels to be honest that mysterio did not belong in the 2nd movie at all......nothing from these holland movies make sense to me. As a 'movie' they're interesting popcorn thrillers but as a spiderman fan, these were just gawd awful.
In reality this movie was actually pretty darn depressing… I loved it! It’s out of character for Marvel, they took some big chances and it really paid off
The fact that Willem Dafoe is SUCH a good actor when he plays regular people characters makes him even MORE FLIPPING CREEPY when he does anything else. Him being good actually amplifies the weird. At least Willem FULLY leans into it instead of trying to avoid it. He is one of my favorite actors.
Watch his Wired career interview. He's so soft spoken. Crazy how such a calm person can flip that switch and transform into THE GREEN GOBLIN effortlessly. Very impressive!
I saw Sider-man for my birthday last year and it was awesome; especially since the Sam Rami Spider-Man movies were what I watched when I was younger, so seeing Tobey McGuire as Spider-Man again was the best, as well as William Dafoe's performance as the green goblin was (in my opinion) the best villain performance of the movie, because of how he attacks the hero on both a physical and psychological level.

I never expected the film to be this good. The old characters got the respect they deserved and having all three Spider Men was awesome.

🤔
Excellent point
That was before he was humbled and became a sorcerer. He hasn’t been like that since imo
One thing I like about Shapiro, I don’t agree with most of what he says but I respect him standing ten toes down on his word.

"You know, I'm something of a movie reviewer myself." - Ben Shapiro
The green goo was supposed to reverse the effects of the super serum that the Green Goblin had in him.
I also suspect that Dr. Strange knew that the multiverse madness was coming and that he was preparing some action but it may have got out of hand.
Nah. He wanted to help Peter because it took him years to be a fraction of what Peter already is, specially at his age. He knew that Peter is worth it.
But as always he proceeds to forget that not everybody knows magic. Soooooooo, he doesnt brief Peter about the spells working. And thus.
Peter saved Dr Strange live two times in Infinity War from certain death too
True, I think also because Strange is naturally cocky in his craft. Like he always tried to one up his game as a neurosurgeon, he sees a fun activity in casting a powerful spell that he’s attracted to.
Dr. Strange becomes an idiot in this movie. A five-minute conversation with Peter before starting the spell would have avoided all problems.

I think the part where Dr Strange is responsible for the whole mess might have been him doing a favor to an old "squadmate". He did say they saved the world together. Dr. Strange said the same thing when they were in the mirror dimension.

The whole spell thing going wrong was very contrived. Dude can't cast spells while someone talks to him? Lame

Agent Venom possibly? But I see The Amazing Spider-Man Flash take on the Agent Venom mantle
First superhero movie in a WHILE that I’ve actually enjoyed. Don’t listen to reviews, don’t look at comments, just go watch it. It’s a blast.
I mean the reviews are pretty overwhelmingly positive
@@gregdrake5069 I meant so that people would go into the movie with a clean slate and enjoy it for themselves.
New Rockstars has a great explanation of the wish and its results
@@drakke125Channel Eh? The main villain didn't belong in the movie?
Was anyone else excited to see Daredevil back? That honestly was one of the most exciting scenes for me.
Everyone when Aunt May dies: “Oh no thats so sad!!!” Ben: “ah”
Surprised by the fact that he looked in his mid-50s in the 2002 movie only to look in his mid-50s for this one too.
@@osmanyousif7849 yes, he has looked the same for about 40 years I think.
It's 100% Tobey that moved the film to badass level.
