Holy moly, the Scott Sector fly rod is a beast! Theo Anest, our sales representative from Scott Fly Rods, took the Sector out for a few months on the water and put this fly rod through its paces. Thankfully, he documented his exploits for us and put together a comprehensive field test and review of the new Scott Sector saltwater fly rod while fishing in Baja, Mexico. This is truly an exciting video to watch and shows the versatility of the new Sector Saltwater Fly Rod. If you are planning a trip to the saltwater, you may want to consider the Scott Sector Fly Rod for a new upgrade.

This is literally the best video I've seen promoting any series of fly rods. I was on a recent excursion for a week of fly fishing for some bones, permit and other larger sized fish. I had my 8's & two sage salt's in 12 for the big stuff & some blue water as they have a serious butt end to pull some pretty big fish. Can be a little hard to cast after a while but they do launch a fly into the next time zone. Anyways, a friend puts his sector 12 weight in my hand and i thought it was a 10 . When i realized it was a 12 I could not believe the weight difference and although I did not catch anything of great significance with it I was in awe of this rods ability to cast the fly in semi windy conditions . Honestly, i had reservations about this rods true ability or the big stuff, but after viewing this vid I went out and bought a 12........ and maybe a second one down the road just in case ......lol.

Very cool video and casting skills 👍 All your catches are great. Especially the Rooster Fish from the shore! It’s hard enough catching one on a spinning rod much less on a fly rod. Great skills for sure 👍

This was a great video. Awesome footage and even better info (via your text boxes). I wish more videos had that type of info in them. Really let’s people know which wt rods should be used for different fish. I fish a few Scott radians for freshwater, excited to add some sectors to the salt game. Thanks again for all the great information.

@@Duranglers hey man, how’s the Wave? We might be going to La Paz in December. Thinking about a 10wt for the surf. Is the Wave solid? Or is the Sector the only choice? Also, do I go 11wt or will the 10wt work? Thanks man.

@@benlopez4860 Hey Ben, the Wave is actually a really great rod and we have a review video incoming for it soon. To us, it feels light and fast, you can throw a line well into the wind. If you are casting a lot from shore, a 10 weight would be the best choice for casting all day, though if you are out in deeper water on a boat, an 11 might be better for lifting power.

@@Duranglers awesome. Thanks for this. I think the majority of this trip I’ll be on the beach. Can’t wait to see that video on the Wave. All your other videos are really helpful. Thanks for all of them.

    All rods were 8’4’’?

Some were. The Sector has a few models in that length.
