Thanks for the shout out! I'm riding it around the track yesterday and today and it occurred to me that this is probably the easiest bike to ride that I've ever ridden around the track. It's not too heavy. It's not got too much power. The brakes are friendly. The seat is pretty low. The bars aren't too low. It doesn't have any handling surprises. Even the suspension works fine for what it is. This is before I saw this video, so it's funny how that works. You could almost argue the 660 fits this same description if you can deal with more power and weight and a little harder edge, but I would recommend the 457 for the absolute first timer, no question.

Think we can have a go on track with this? Hey a fair trade of my v4r for this to get a few laps 😉

I think when you said the word “useability” it pretty much summed up this category and this bike in particular 🇬🇧

It's so usable in many riding aspects!

Modern litre bikes are incredible and require a very healthy dose of respect when riding on the street...they are so quick and fast...so easy to double or even triple the posted speed limit...not healthy for all the obvious reasons!!
These smaller caliber motorbikes that have 40-50 bHP are loads of fun on the street...you have to be very deliberate with your speed because you have to 'work for it'. FUN FUN FUN at (somewhat!) legal speeds.
I enjoyed the vid!! That RS-457 appears to be a very decent, Great Looking, and FUN ride.

So true in your points. I'm a lot of ways these smaller bikes really make you learn the finer points of riding like maintaining corner speed and riding efficiently. Thanks!

That was a great first ride! Agree with the braking feel and the riders' triangle 👌 Been following Andy for a while and I just wish he uploads more often 😅 (I get it he has a life too).
About the shifting, with this bike you could get away with a gear higher than you'd normally do. Would like you to try that out! So far it's been a good 6 months with this baby RS.

Yea Andy is awesome and is just figuring out his channel and what to post. The thing about shifting, it just felt at above 9000rpm there wasn't any more power or torque to give so going to 1st for a split second is good but it quickly needed to be shifted again to 2nd.
Hopefully I can get a go on track with it and test that all out!

Would love to see you review the CB650R. Is currently my first choice for my starter bike and you reviews seem very thorough and trustworthy

You should have talked about the cheap tactile finishes to the buttons, clutch and rear sets.

I mentioned the buttons and not feeling all that great. The rear sets I forgot to show how they flex from just pushing on them. But again it's a cheaper bike so some things will be lacking.

I heard the ABS is the worst on this bike.

Got one in June, done 5000kms, upgraded from a duke 390. Definitely the best under 500cc bike. Looks beautiful, performance way better than it looks. The chassis is telepathic, you can just stick to corners. You do need a brake upgrade though, use a rcs15 and it solves my complaint. Also follow andy

He is very knowledgeable and a fantastic rider. He was a pro racer, helps coach for the Yamaha Champions riding school. I've utilized him for his knowledge a good bit, especially on track. Buddy of mine!
