I must have gotten lucky. My RS457 doesn't have that 2nd gear issue. I bought mine in Texas. I also broke it in softly, never going above 7000rpm for 600 miles. When I hit that passing speed, it pulls so hard!
I’m used to ride a rs660 and when I rode the rs457 I thought I hit a false neutral when shifting up from first gear. I guess that’s because the power drop you mentioned. That’s a big issue, certainly when taking off from a green light with cars around you….
Lower your mic gain, and then boost it in post. This should help you remove the popping sound and grain in the audio. Also you can try move the mic to the very front and put some kinda fabric cloth over it to stop popping and lower your voice input. I normally run my dji mic 2 in my helmet and was running that at -12db
Hello your problem is just like the problem with the CFMoto 800 NK/IBEX/ADV. Now when that happened with that brand everybody said it was cause they were junk and from China and bla bla bla. Now that it is an Aprilia problem it is handled with kid gloves. No attacking the brand and that it is made at a Vespa scooter factory in India. Right away oh it is a problem because emissions standard had to be met and it just the way the throttle by wire controls the ECU/ fueling/ throttle bodies. The fix is going to be simple with a software update which is 100% true. When it happened to the CFMoto it was not handled in the same way by the internet. The CFMoto fix was a software update just like this situation. Funny how the same issue can happen to two brands but the internet handles each one so differently.
What do you guys want to see for the 500 Sub special?
decent/better mic

@@seabass3k454 I agree! I cannot wait until they release some tunes to fix this issue on the NA bikes
Hey . Nice review man , Me being from India can confirm indian 457 model's doesn't have 2nd gear cap issue .
I think that it's only an issue for the US bikes. THE UK doesn't have the limiter but i'm not sure on behalf of the rest of the EU
Better in India, More expensive in the US. Make it make sense Aprilia

Are the revs limited for break in period?
I think it’s a bit of a dog 3k to 6k in all the gears.

Learn to ride! That bike has a 10,700 rpm redline; why you riding it at under 7000 rpm?
