No music..no comment...just the feeling of that historical moment when incredibile engineering push great of human being on another level..flow in the incredible taste of the 70th era ....so beautiful, miss so much
If I had to watch reruns for the rest of my life, watching the Concorde take off would be at the very top of my list. Especially when the takeoffs are at night. Watching the Reheats after takeoff and that roar would be mesmerizing. What a super aeronautical creation this was. I wish it could come back.
I remember watching Concorde take off from Heathrow back in 1978 with my dad. I had even bunked off school as I loved going to the airport just to watch the planes. We had dropped my grandma and grandad off as they were going to see my uncle in South Africa and we waited to see their plane leave. We was on top of the multi storey car park with a fantastic view of the runway and Concorde was taxiing for take off. I remember the noise of its engines being far louder than all the other planes and the reheat afterburners glowing as it climbed. I will never forget seeing it take off. I always said one day I will fly on Concorde but sadly never did, I always wanted to watch a shuttle launch in real life as well but never did but at least I got to see Concorde take off in real life. Best ever bunk off day from school I had.
Just watching again. For years we have become used to the normal 737 / 320 shaped aircraft. To see the sleek shape of Concorde now, it looks almost impossible. It looks more impressive now than it ever did back in the 70's.
Living in Reading I saw, or atleast heard almost every scheduled flight BA Concordes ever did. You could set your watch at 11:07 and 18:07. Also saw the last ever Concorde departure from LHR, was even on my birthday.
The afterburners are very visible. The distinctive noise of turbojet engines is so much louder than the common turbofan or turboprop engines. The Concorde wasn't noisy during supersonic flights. It was very noisy during take of and all the residents around Heathrow knew well when the Heathrow was in the air. For some it was a free alarm clock every morning. After the end of Concorde 2003 they had silent mornings.
The 70s used to seem like ages ago and the 80s, when I was born, seemed so close. Nowadays it seems like they are all a long time ago in togetherness. I’m really starting to get older now.
Wow crazy to think that this aircraft was made in the 1950/60's and looks so modern even today never mind in 1976. If Concorde was released a week ago it would still be ahead of its time it's a real credit to the engineers and designers who built her. Best engineering triumph of the 20th century in my opinion
I could not remember where I was but I saw booth Concorde & Tu-144 somewhere either Tennessee or California & boy my Grandfather his friend my mom & me where talking about those to Airplanes!! I wish that we could fly them again !! :(
So was it on its way the U.S ?? I was six years old when the inaugural flight was made it was broadcast on tv exciting to watch its a shame it was retired.
Those observant ones amongst you will have noticed the Morris Marina airport vehicle .....hard to believe that something as technological superb as the Concorde, occupied the same time line as such a hideously woeful vehicle.
The most iconic aircraft ever - way ahead of its time and unique. Still the only supersonic passenger aircraft to grace the skies - and Tony Blair cancelled it.
l'histoire de cet avion mythique m'intéresse depuis très longtemps, sans prétention je m'y sens personnellement liée...je suis née le 21 Janvier 1976! ;-)
Oh, the gorgeous and glorious machine…. a rude awakening seeing the opposite end of British technological ‘achievement’ in the form of the woeful Morris Marina marshalling car in the early part of footage, how is it possible they existed at the same moment in history… 😎
The only passenger jet that could supercruise (greater than mach 1 without afterburners). At the time, only a handful of miltary jets could do the same. In fact, only the English Electric Lightning could catch it from behind. British airways lent it to the RAF for trials.
Some UFOs are probably hanging around overhead watching this whole thing, saying, "Look at these humans. They're using liquid fuel in engines and they think they're advanced".
Yes it was noisy, but that was one of the great things about it. You couldn't mistake those engines. Most aircraft were noisy and polluting back then. It may have been cramped, but it flew supersonic so the fuselage had to be very narrow. Great aircraft, sadly missed.

17 still exist and are in working condition - it would be nice to see a flight take place for an anniversary of concorde

Lucky devil...👍
The most beautiful passenger aircraft ever built, in my opinion. It's majestic, almost like a great white swan.....
And still looks incredibly modern even today.
I ran home from school in my lunch hour, to see this live - it was all that we could talk about that afternoon. What a day that was.
It
The most beautiful, incredible vehicle ever to take to the skies.Even now looking back at this footage she looks futuristic
She will be forever futuristic Tony. The most wonderful aircraft ever created.
Fantastic. A piece of history, right there. Glory days of aviation.
Bless all at Thames, when London had Television worth watching. Thanks for uploading this treasure.
MrFlashjet Aviation Productions
Subjective.
@@miniena7774 His statement was absolutely Correct.

That was crazy: the two Concorde took off SIMULTANEOUSLY from LHR and CDG !
remember watching this on the TV - a long time ago now but still holds the same thrill as ever
It went over my house on that day and the noise was amazing. Saw it 2 to 3 times a week for years. Beautiful plane and sound.
Living in Reading I saw, or atleast heard almost every scheduled flight BA Concordes ever did. You could set your watch at 11:07 and 18:07. Also saw the last ever Concorde departure from LHR, was even on my birthday.
One careful owner, never raced or rallied with looks that would stop traffic wherever she went. God, I miss those days!!!
Awesome video....a real great "time stamp"....even some classic QANTAS in there at 3:07 😁
Concorde still looks futuristic.
I was there on top of the car park. Fabulous and memorable.
This happened the year I was born! Well preserved footage!!!!
Back when supersonic travel was a reality but now we are back to stage one.
More like Back when oil price wasn't a reality
Because we've become a society obsessed with victims rather than heroes, and victimhood instead of heroism and achievement.
Bang on the money
Amazing
So miss hearing her take off at Heathrow where I still work

This gives me a tear ,hairs stand up ,engineers are just amazing incredible perfection ❤

Back when the future was awesome
I took the morning off school to watch this from LHR Roof Gardens. In 2003 I saw the last commercial departure also.
3 legends in their own right, concorde, 747 and ford escort lol
And lots of yellow Land Rovers as well
Morris Marina actually
And Pan-Am and TWA!
These were glorious times
Simply sublime!
Oooh Bring back Concorde!!!
Beautiful just beautiful 😍
Wow! Lovely scenes.❤❤
Iconic.
Cool Concorde ✈️👍
Remember Raymond Baxtor commentary on this , as I watched it live as a child!
can we just take a step back and appreciate how people found a way to make concorde
And also appreciate how the pilots didn't get tailstrikes
The tail wheel at the back provided protection against tailstrikes
I was on top of the car park. 8 years old. I am 54 now.
I was there that day on the queens building stood next to the BBC cameras filming for the TV news that day. Precious memory.
I was there! Standing on the Queens Building with my Zenith E & 200mm lens. Concorde was flying to Bahrein.

Magical.
Just wow
Nice to see a video clip of this milestone event of ‘75 and not film which seemed like the rule of the day then.
probably the last great thing the UK and France did its a shame nothing is done for national prestige thesedays
France won two Football World Cups since then.
@@user-ky6vw5up9m thats gonna offend a lot.
What about Airbus ???!!!
@@TheSason666 Commercially impressive, but not as incredible as this.
@@TheSason666 Unworthy.
Look at that climb rate! ❤
Beauty personified....
I assume this is the inaugural flight to New York, as my father was on the inaugural to Washington which I think was in May 1976.
This was the inaugural to Bahrain.
That was the Eagle of the Sky.
What an aircraft, so ahead of its time. Retired too soon. They should at least service one for shows and special events.
I could not remember where I was but I saw booth Concorde & Tu-144 somewhere either Tennessee or California & boy my Grandfather his friend my mom & me where talking about those to Airplanes!! I wish that we could fly them again !! :(

Still looking so beautiful even in this New Year of 2024.😊😊😊
Wonderful machine...
Morris Marina and Concorde ❤
Which runway is this taking off from? I work at Heathrow but the buildings and taxiways have changed so much I can’t quite tell!
Notice the work on Hatton Cross station, it was on today’s Runway 27L.
at the start of the clip, the best and the worst of British engineering, Concord and a morris marina
I noticed that aswell lol. We have come a long way on the car front since then but have gone backwards with the aircraft.
Lol true. Although I always thought the Austin Allegro was worse.
Concorde had a habit of shedding rudder panels. As far as I know, nothing fell off a Morris Marina.
What a beutiful man made bird she was. Missed.
What’s the registration of this beautiful plane ?
G-BOAA, she performed the first flight to Bahrain.
Bilal Ahmed And the prototype is kept at Duxford museum.
No, the Duxford Concorde was a preproduction example. The prototypes are in Toulouse (I think) and Yeovil.
We need to bring back the Concord
It is time to bring her back
inaugural flight to where?
Oh, the gorgeous and glorious machine…. a rude awakening seeing the opposite end of British technological ‘achievement’ in the form of the woeful Morris Marina marshalling car in the early part of footage, how is it possible they existed at the same moment in history… 😎
The Marina wasn't brilliant but it wasn't that bad. Clarkson is funny and all but sometimes he's just wrong.
There was something abt ppl of this era - everyone ... and that's all gone now
Actually there is the overture coming up in 5 years
dont hold your breath....
Coisa linda
Any idea what runway that was on ?
With concorde gone and the Vulcan history, whats next to get wiped out with the stroke of a pen
Keerthivasan Nambiraju
They're slowly phasing out the 747s
The Lancs aren't doing too good...
British Airways itself
the dogs coconuts never
will a jet look like this again majestic

‘76 not ‘75 excuse me
Je n' ai jamais voler sur concorde je le regrette fortement car je n' ai eu que la chance de le visiter.
But i dont think that 5 years will ever pass
Nouthing like British Air Concord and Air France concord
Ya
Taquepariiiiiiu minino!!!!!
The biggest tradegy is that one of them sits at Heathrow among a load of airport junk!
BA should be ashamed,it should be displayed with pride.!!
sikoti departure londan
Lo concorde ASSASSINO.👉😢99vitimas
Still better than Emirates

Noisy, polluting, expensive, cramped...not missed.
Paul CF absolutely nonsense.
Paul CF despite this. Everything went well and concorde Still is more advanced than any other plane apart from the aged avionics
cramped... so did you travel on her? I did and she was the best ever

What brings you here to watch and comment on it? Must’ve really traumatised you.
