    Jessica's reaction to seeing the photo of Megg has been my reaction every time I see this episode 16:56, "why did they choose this picture of her?"
    It was obvious that they wanted to get her out because Megg wasn't doing quite well with the competition and they wanted her to come out before she broke down, or just the theory that the order of elimination was already marked was real. Megg revealed in Oliver Twixt interview that the final shot they chose was a test shot. It's so sad because Megg is my favorite model in the show's history, she's a cool person, sometimes we talk on IG and her vibe is so RAD.
    She really did big at the end of the show, I think she is one of the most successful models of that season, with many projects and multiple jobs in her career as a model and artist, It makes me happy to know that she is doing well. Rock and Roll forever!

      It being mean and insensitive is the point though. It's not their original concept. "Freakshows", very unfortunately, used to be real, up until mid-20th century. People with various physical and mental conditions were displayed exactly in this manner or even enslaved, taken on tour to be shown for money. I will say I wish they would have emphasized that more in the show, but I think it's great that they highlighted a really dark chapter of history that, to be honest, was not long enough ago.

    hey Jessica, can you make a video explaining why these photos (or likely any photos from ANTM) can't be used on a portfolio? I would love to hear your opinion on what makes for a good portfolio pic :D

    • @mcreena
      @mcreena 2 года назад +4

      My guess is the reason is twofold. First, the photographer owns the rights to the photos and knowing ANTM contracts, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a clause stating the models are unable to use the photographs outside of the show. Second, a few models have gone on the record saying that there is a stigma associated with ANTM in the modeling community, and that professionals don't take the shots from the show that seriously, or say they lack in quality compared to professional portfolio shots. So including them in your portfolio is more of a hindrance than a help.
      Also, it is unlikely the models get access to the full set of shots taken from them, and are likely stuck with whatever photo the producers choose, which isn't always their best photo. So it'd be unwise to include shots that aren't you at your best.
