hello !! i'd love to have more of a dialogue with all of you, so if you have any questions for me, please submit them here (forms.gle/12TbGeFQqmsPteDv8), and i'll answer them in future videos 🩵
Respectfully as a born and bred Londoner, these prices are delusional and ridiculous! They know who they're targeting, not one of these were worth more than £1800 especially not in Hackney of all places, just 10 years ago these flats were £1000 a month. There's no reason it should more than double in that time, except for persons who are duped by "locations" when 15yrs ago these areas were literally the ghetto of London!
The rooms and windows all look so small and she's saying they're spacious! Flats have been subdivided since I rented in London. I had crummy places, but they were a reasonable size and in Queens Park and maida Vale.
Loved this. I think its absolutely insane that these post codes now are an option!! Hackney was an absolute no go zone when I was growing up born 1990. xxx
RUclips recommended this video to me today and you got a sub from me! 😍 I appreciated jumping right in, a brief background/context, all the bits overlaid on the screen, and the concise recap of each apartment. QUITE a satisfying video.
Exciting! I found you through your apartment hunting video 2 years ago so really enjoyed seeing a refreshed version! Glad you are happy with staying in your current flat 🩵
ah! so glad you found your way here and i'm very excited to share an updated 2024 version of that video haha ✨ how do you feel it compares to 2022? i feel the prices just keep going up!
thank you! i also love the little duplexes 🥰 great question - I use a mix of Zoopla, Right Move and Open Rent when looking (and Spare Room if looking for roomates) ✨
I'm glad you're staying inside the same flat here in London! The prices here have skyrocketed here in London over the years and I hope the British government will pay attention to us for building more affordable housing here now instead of later.
thank you, i'm excited to be staying ✨ agreed, the cost of rent in london is mad and unfortunately i'm part of the problem living here and paying its exorbitant rates. affordable rent is necessary.
Here in the USA when the government builds affordable housing a lot of the time it's really shoddy. I think the better solution is to rehab existing buildings (with good bones), revitalize maybe formerly industrial locations that have been abandoned.
The place you visited where someone was letting the room out through airbnb - I didn't even realise that was allowed for a rented flat? I'm torn myself at the moment as reaching the age (52) that I need to get back on property ladder after 3 year hiatus off it, and also the appeal to buy and let out the spare room is a big thing, so I'm surprised to hear that people are doing it through rentals anyway. I totally get where you're coming from with choosing to use that extra £500 for travel..... is absolutely the reason I would rent out a spare room..... ! to be London based, but travel lots is living the dream. Apologies for long message, loved the vlog.... and saw your previous one when you were flat hunting last time
thank you so much for your comment! glad you like the video 🤗 oh good shout on the flat she was airbnb'ing - i should clarify that the person living in there was the current owner 🙈
Very interesting to see these flats! Love the old brick ones. The old ones always have these very narrow corridors and stairs :) But I will never understand the need of carpet flooring in Britain. I'm amazed you were allowed to film and post these as people are still living in them.
I loved the 5th apartment actually and I already started furnishing it in my head lol (Though I don’t like the orange in the bathroom) But that price is crazy for that size 🥶🥶🥶
Crazy prices! Montreal is heading this way too. But can still find comparable apartments for about $1500 Canadian dollars. How do you people afford it???
I can’t get over how many properties show a toilet that was exposed, with both lids up. Who doesn’t put the seat down when the loo is right beside the hand basin and their TOOTHBRUSH. Gross!
i completely agree, having to pack everything up, move it around and re settle in a new space, that definitely weighed on my mind too! looking forward to those getaways heheh 🏝️ thanks for watching 🩵
At the risk of depressing you, I am about to buy a 4bed spacious double fronted HOUSE around 2000sqft for £250.000...which if you can afford 2400per MONTH in rent you can easily afford to buy...but the house isn't in London (which for me is a bonus) and has a sea view
As someone who lives in 100sqm apartment with a garden for 1100€ in the west of Germany those prices are definitely high for me. And why are those leases so short time?
I would, move out of London. The prices are ridiculous. I understand why people move to Manchester or Leeds and commute by fast train when absolutely necessary. Working from home gives you so many more options. You could be buying a lovely apartment up North for a lot less than you are paying in rent.

It’s fun seeing what the flats are like in London.
agreed! thanks for watching 🩵

Hackney was a dump 20 years ago and it’s still a dump…

Well said. These Landlords are disgraceful 😡

oh wow

so glad you enjoyed it and thanks for subscribing 🩵
I was apartment hunting the same time as you, and I literally saw the same apartment 9!!! I went back to check my photos, and yep, exact same flat!
no way! what a coincidence !! how did you like apartment 9? and how did the rest of your apartment hunting experience go?
Nr 3 was beautiful. So spacious, base floor, nice big windows, off to the secluded side with the private courtyard... a winner to me!
yes, it was a beauty! thanks for watching 🩵

apartment 7 is my personal fave but you're right, it's a bit pricey 💸
haha yes, it had a lot going for it and it was soooooo nicely decorated
Great video! What sites (or letting agents) did you use to find these flats? I love all of the different layouts especially the duplexes.
thank you! i also love the little duplexes 🥰 great question - I use a mix of Zoopla, Right Move and Open Rent when looking (and Spare Room if looking for roomates) ✨

Made my day georgia!!
oh, I'm so glad !!!! thanks for tuning in 🩵

hehe, love when your brain starts furnishing a place 🏡 indeed, it was quite the ask for the size! thanks for watching 🩵
Morning from Hawaii that was a good video on your apartment hunting
thank you so much!
Great Work!!
thank you so much!
New subscriber 🙂 Loved the tour of the flats 🌻
thanks for watching and subscribing 🩵
de beauvoir area for me personally is a win - check it out
agreed! great little area 🩵
Crazy rents!😢... my son pay just under 900 mortgage for his flat...and already has a good anount of equity...plans to sell and buy a house nexr year.
very wild!
@@georgiadoust wild?? Unless u mean the cost of rents
yep, i mean the rents are wild!
Over £2000/month in rent? That is completely insane. 😳
It's "fashionable" Hackney and a very popular area. It's also north of the river and generally more expensive than the south side.
indeed!
How do people pay for that? Where do people get the money from? I don't think it's sustainable for humanity.
Gentrification.
Yep that’s London!
Crazy prices! Montreal is heading this way too. But can still find comparable apartments for about $1500 Canadian dollars. How do you people afford it???
it's a lot!
You can tell the ex local
Authority homes such a shame they were sold
When we are setted in a flat, very rarely we move out unless the landlord doesn't renew the lease. 😅
totally!
I can’t get over how many properties show a toilet that was exposed, with both lids up. Who doesn’t put the seat down when the loo is right beside the hand basin and their TOOTHBRUSH. Gross!
haha true!
Aw, I'm in Bow and totally recommend it. Was the last flat off of Gunmakers lane? Looks familiar :)
nice !! omg, it totally was off gunmakers lane, well done 👏 thanks for watching 🩵
Is the £2000 pcm budget in the room with us?
what do you mean by in the room with us?
hunting - means renting, so impressive lol
Apartment 3 or 7. The people living in 7 just have a shit-ton of clutter, but it would feel a lot bigger if that all got swept out.
yeah, those apartments were great, particularly the size of 7!
I think the hassle of moving has to be weighed against spending money for quirks. Take you money and do some getaway weekends.
i completely agree, having to pack everything up, move it around and re settle in a new space, that definitely weighed on my mind too! looking forward to those getaways heheh 🏝️ thanks for watching 🩵
Flat 1 was like wow for the price?? Its greatt and boom there's a graveyard... that's explain why
hahaha so true !! 🪦

I'm going to be honest these are not worth the price at all. And for that price per month aren't you better off buying a house?
Gentrification makes me very tired !
People are never happy - want to be as close to the center of London but are not prepared to have noise on their doorstep. 🙄
🙈
As someone who lives in 100sqm apartment with a garden for 1100€ in the west of Germany those prices are definitely high for me.
And why are those leases so short time?
wow, that's so nice! agreed, it's pretty wild ✨
I am surprised there was a tenant Air BnB-ing her bedroom. Most landlords would not allow that.
she was the current owner :)
Wow here’s me thinking my rent 880 a month for three bedroom house was expensive 🤯 how are people living and paying rent
indeed!
I thought US was over priced. You get very little for the money.
yeah, super small flats here!
I would, move out of London. The prices are ridiculous. I understand why people move to Manchester or Leeds and commute by fast train when absolutely necessary. Working from home gives you so many more options. You could be buying a lovely apartment up North for a lot less than you are paying in rent.
yeah, it's pretty pricey! love living in london town though 🥰
And the moral of the story is.... move out of London asap.
🤪
No stay south us northerners love our area thankyou very much 😊
These all seemed pretty much the same to me. Too modern. Where are the quirky cheap "dumps" .
fair !! thanks for watching ✨
House price rises over the years mean there are no cheap livable dumps only expensive livable dumps.
What’s the deal with all these influencers now holding microphones?
How people afford this is crazy
💜❤️💜❤️❤️ 7
thank you!
