Hi ! Are all those apartment furnished ? Or is it not a thing in the Uk ? And with this price, does it include like electricity, water, all this, or you have to add it on top of it? And how much is it usually?

I remember the times where hackney was a no go area.. people will eventually leave London nobody will be able to live in London.

Gosh. You are being robbed that is for sure just because you want to live near central London? When I lived in South London and owned my own flat, my commute to central London from East Dulwich (my office was in Grosvenor Square at that time) took me 1.5 hours each way on the bus. Then my office moved to Chancery Lane so I could walk to the station where I got the train to High Holborn. My journey came down to about 40 min. These areas you are looking at can be really rough, though they have been "gentrified" in later years (where we lived in East Dulwich has been gentrified too) We eventually moved out of London down to the south west where we bought a house for less than the amount we sold our flat for. We both kept doing the same jobs we had done in London, except my commute was 15 mins and my husband's was 25 mins. When you are young, living in London seems really important for various reasons. But other cities have just as much going on, and have cheaper accommodation. My parents had moved from South London down to the south coast when I was at school. I could not wait to get back to London and did so when I was 24. By the time I was 26 I had bought my own flat. For me, London was everything and I could never envisage wanting to leave it again. Six years later I was really ready to leave. I had bought my flat while I was still single, then got married and wanted to get out and leave that rat race behind because I realised that London wasn't everything and I could live a much better life elsewhere. My husband and I carried on doing the same work, except down on the Southwest Coast. Note: Flats number 3 or number 10 were the best and I think you should have really thought hard about either of those.

This was interesting.Why do they have 2 bathrooms in tiny flats,is that a his & hers room,rather unnessesary and also small bathrooms are better cos our flat has a big bathroom(what do you need the space for)

the sole reason these prices are so ridiculous and quite frankly pathetic is because idiots keep paying them..... how a normal every day person or persons are to afford anywhere to live on a regular job/income is beyond me... no wonder we have a housing crisis.... nothing but pure greed and profiteering .....

My goodness, the price of rent.

I liked #3 and #6. I'm curious about what is considered spacious. A number of the ones you said were spacious were 500 to 600 square foot range. That seemed smallish to me. I used to live in a one bedroom that was 850 square foot here in Washington, DC and my current two bedroom is 1,200 square feet. I'm thinking that in London the range of square footage must be relatively smaller.

Wow…so expensive!! All of them are ok but too expensive for my taste 😅

For comparison, I live in Bangkok Thailand, where I pay 232 GBP per month for a 535 sq/ft (50 sq/m) 1 bedroom apartment. The building has a gym, swimming pool, dentist, 2 full-service laundries, Pilates studio and a hair salon.

30 years ago I lived in London and had 1 bedroom apartment in a beautiful historic house that was split into 1/2 beds apartments and it was £600 a month, which was on the higher end for a rental. It was beautiful but I moved out of London when I started a family and bought a bigger house. My best friend still lives in London, she bought a Victorian terraced house on one wage. Crazy how expensive it is now, even her children can’t afford to leave home and I’m just talking about renting, forget buying!

Hi Georgia, I can't believe these landlords are so unscrupulous to rent out a bedroom with no windows. I'm sure that is illegal, or if not it should be. So glad you found somewhere though.
