    Great video! I’ve wondered why my S63AMG M157 sometimes feels like it pulls harder and other times not as much. Thank you for the video.
    It is very clear that you’re a perfectionist and everything you do, you do it to a high standard.
    I’ll be doing the same thing to my S63AMG 😊

    Dude! You mentioned that this coolant pump mod was filmed a year ago? Dang, I wish you posted it as soon as you did because I could have tested at the drag (drag strips in the seattle area are closed during the Fall/Winter) . Im super excited to do this simple mod to my E63! A 25% decrease in water temps is HUGE! The car ran excellent when I take it to the drag strip, mind you I was running it HARD non stop in 80 degree weather. So I cant wait to see the results this coming spring/summer.

      Can't remember if I mentioned it in the video, but there are two train of thoughts on this. One is that the cycling of the pump on and off actually is more harmful to a pump. But then again it is being used quite a bit more with this mod.
      The previous generations like the E55 etc had the pump running constantly, and typically they wear out after about 10 years regardless of miles. Good news is they're cheap though I think it's like 140 bucks as long as you can recognize when it goes out

    • @GasBrakeSim
      @GasBrakeSim 6 месяцев назад

      @@ExoticCarDIY yea I heard you mention it here ! You’re right , on-and-off for electric motors , in my opinion, lower the life expectancy. What are signs that your pump is going ? I don’t have a scanner or way to monitor IAT’s

    Hey bro . I noticed when you popped your cap for the reservoir , your coolant is red/pink. Mine is blue. I did purchase it from an Audi dealership , I’m wondering if the blue is the right color ? I topped it off last night with GR48 Zerex after some small research , but got confused about the parts where Mercedes swapped coolant colors around the year of mine(2014)

    If the wire stops touching for whatever reason the relay would still do its job yeah? Theres no chance it would get stuck off?

    • @ExoticCarDIY
      @ExoticCarDIY  7 месяцев назад +1

      Correct, if the wire loses contact, it simply reverts to normal function.
      The only exception is if it's installed very sloppy and it touches another wire that it was never supposed to..
      Obviously, like I mentioned in the video, the most secure way would be to just splice the wire in there, but I refuse to cut into my factory harness even if it's just a tiny splice

      @@dominicnewby2875@dominicnewby2875 well, one disclaimer, the 2014 to 2016 cars have split cooling meaning there are separate cooling systems for the engine and the heat exchanger. Some of the earlier cars have a single coolant system
      Anyway, this is intended for the split cooling system cars and has zero effect on the engine coolant

      Sounds like you put a lot of work into your current car, I don't know about your financial situation, but that would be a pretty hefty price to jump from your car to 2019. They are great cars though, good luck with your decision

    • @multiblade04
      @multiblade04 8 месяцев назад

      At what mileage did you have to change the whole top end?

    • @bulmear2531
      @bulmear2531 8 месяцев назад

      @multiblade04 at 140k but that was because the previous owner drove it with low oil. Typically no m278 or m157 needs this. As long as you change your oil every 5k miles you should be good.

    • @bulmear2531
      @bulmear2531 8 месяцев назад

      @multiblade04 also pay attention that the cam sensors are not leaking oil because thst might end up traveling up the line to the ECU. Simple upgrade or pigtails solve this problem. Also DONT use anything other than 5W40, 0w40 is too thin. I recommend liquimoly molygen, it has buildin Ceratech so don't put any additives

    • @bulmear2531
      @bulmear2531 8 месяцев назад

      @multiblade04 last thing is make sure your chain is the new one (old ones strech) and that the chain tensioner are good this will also save your car from future problems. Typically coolant lines also becomes brittle at like 120k miles and they might need to be changed, cheap if you have a crimping tool this way only buy the plastic end connectors and crimp them.
