Ok, fam, my 2 cents: forget the K&N oil filter, get Mazda, it shouldn't be much more expensive, and make sure you get the oil filter for the second gen RX8's (2009-2011)... the first gen RX8 oil filter is too small, and has been proven to be an issue, hence Mazda upped its size for series 2 RX8's... I would love to save you money on premix, but I'm not sure how many actual studies have been done on the premix brand and how well it burns... I've been using the Walmart SuperTech TC-W3 2-stroke premix for as long as I've owned my RX8 (8 years) and it seems to get the job done. The hyper-mile suggestion is actually not bad, best time to do it is definitely the roadtrip, but to hyper-mile, you have to be doing 60MPH in 6th gear, and that puts you behind schedule and other traffic. I usually do 80MPH on roadtrip highway cruising, and I was getting around 22-24MPG's out of my RX8, but I haven't road-tripped it since putting in the series 2 transmission; at 80MPH the RPM's are lower in 6th gear vs the series 1 transmission.
I think rn, renewable lubricants probably has the best premix out there. But the price heavily reflects it lol, can't afford to run that on a daily driver
