Thank you all so much for following along my tail of the dragon trip, now this trip wouldn't be complete if me and Jason didn't do a night run together would it? lol We didn't get to spend the longest time here so our road knowledge isn't as good as the locals, but we used what we learned and attacked the road one last time. Hope you guys enjoyed it :) Follow me on IG! jeikune?hl=en

The Power of Driving Lines! | S2000 vs Rx8
I love the RX8 but the rotary is unreliable crap. I would like to own one when they get it right
I will say my rx8 in 22-degree weather seemed happy for the most part I think it started better than my friends toyota Camry lol
Holy crap,$53 for 12.1 gal 😮
-10 is cold? i started my 85 psi rotary at -25 and it worked and i did 2h30 of road back to my house, these car are reliable when you take care of em
i saw the air pump the daily drive set up aint been made, mistake were made
What’s the difference between 2005 and 2006 models
Cleaannnn!!
......Dude. I love the content. But please stay in the Powerband of your RPM Range. To really stay in control of your performance. 5000 - 7500RPM is your vehicles Powerband.
The rx8 is need of a big brake kit
It’s not that fast for it😂
You shouldn't need to upgrade your fans and shroud, OEM lasts a long time. Just FYI, the FD uses RX-8 fan motors and blades as an upgrade.
Happy New Year Jerry! Sorry to hear about further damage to your car -_-
Nice looking wheels! Also, thumbs up for the dws 06+, been running them on my 22 3, and they're awesome!
Clean 🔥
should've gotten R3 wheels! they're light and you can buy them for cheap
They not cheap lol was looking for a while, everyone wants > 2k for them
@@Rxjeikun wow, you would thinkl rx8 people would be more reasonable its not easy to find someone who drives rx8 let alone appreciates it. 300 a piece is very reasonable but thats on the expensive side for 2k that's too much! even thought they're forged
@@fkhothatchiyeah I think r3 wheels are BBS as well bro that’s why they’re kind pricey
What year car is this? I know the newer ones are a bit more reliable, but if you manage to keep an 04-05 reliable that’s really cool!
looks insane bro good choice
Honest opinion, the wheels look better than what you had before; also DWS06's are the best tires for dollar amount, by far; I tracked my RX8 on them, and yea they're not the stickiest tire, but I am still running 225's; the extra 20mm width would make a world of a difference in grip levels. I've been trying to get away from my stock 18" wheels on my RX8 for a while, but other stuff keeps breaking on the car... I've been debating if I want 9 inch wheels or 9.5 inch, with like a +35 and 245/40/R18's; I see you didn't wire the Prosport gauges to turn red when headlights are on?
The new wheels look great :) I’m guessing it is a square setup, what offset are those wheels?
Yea it's squared, +38 offset :p
Lunchtime and a Jerry upload? Let’s go! 🔥 looks good btw
Thanks! Was hard debating the wheels for a while lol
new year, new wheels!!!
standing good on the new wheels . was a good choice
Wife is a vet. Male cats are prone to UTI so use iams/purina food brands with the Urinary track formula. Goes a long way!
Im thinking of buying one for cheap with 37000 miles on it, i probably wont be doing alot of driving because im still in school do you think if i looked after it doing the pre mix and not cold starting that it would last?
Dude of course it would last, how much does the car cost though?
I have a Nissan rogue I daily drive but it’s bout 160k and that’s around when rogue are supposed to start having issues so I was gonna k20 or b18 swap it when this one shits out make it a little more fun but I just need to know if I get my rx8 running smooth (just needs apex seals) would I be able to daily drive it for a month or am I gonna regret it
The rotary is for enthusiasts. Point blank period. It requires special treatment and attention. If you’re not willing to take the time to love on it it won’t love you. It’s a relationship.
I'm buying an rx 8 soon I can't wait to start using it.
Dang this makes me miss my RX8 so much lol
Idk if I'll ever get rid of it but ik I'll miss it when I do haha
Hey my girlfriend has that coat
Drove and still drive mine for 15+ years. Because you bought low mileage, engine related issues did not creep yet, but they will eventually. I ended up having to swap a healthy motor because the rear stationary bearing spun. The rear rotor became unbalanced and grenaded the rear housing. Compression was good for the age. The inside of the engine was almost carbon free due to the red line a day, but the bearing died. Red lines do play a factor in bearing health if the car has inherently low oil pressure from the get go. The Series 1 has subpar oil pressure compared to the RX7 and S2 RX8. When I got the brand new crate engine, I modified it for higher pressure and also installed Versatuner for higher RPM at idle, which is something we didn't have back then. Just be prepared for the day. In the meantime - do enjoy the zoom zoom.
One thing that’s often overlooked with a car running a bit hotter is cleaning inbetween the a/c condenser and the radiator over time it gets dirty in there even if it just looks dusty once you start cleaning the radiator you notice inbetween the fins its actually pretty clogged uo
for those buying it now , dont wait for the car to get at 100k khm or have some serious dmg before fixing it , depending on your driving +-30k miles change seals buying a set of seals will be so much cheaper then rebuilding the entire engine and having to buy expensive parts
the car looks amazing
i dont really know if those types of videos help or not anyone. i truly believe those who like the rx8 will buy it regardless of what anyone says . tho when these videos are negative about the car you will spot many haters on the comm be like i knew it i knew it blyuh bluh...
Is it normal to have milky oil on the dipstick during cold and moisture in the oil cap? But after the car has warmed up it goes away? Or is that leaking apex seals….
I love my fb , i wont change it for nothing.. cant wait for spring hit Nj back Roads
I mean I daily drove my 87 N/A fc for four years. 65-105k miles as of right now. Does it go through gas? Not as much as I thought it would. The good thing is my takes 87 pump gas so that’s something. As for premix I’m still on my first batch so not that much of a problem.
For your high coolant temps, if you havent put back the undertray, that is critical for aero to feed and force air into your radiator. Without the undertray, air wont go into your radiator and your car will run hot. You can also change your thermostat like others have said. Also, you can get versa tune to change the temp your fans turn on and cool your engine faster
the more I see your videos, like I rewatch them. It makes me miss mine, it’s currently sitting at my friends shop until my rebuild kit arrives. I want mine back just to feel the fun, and excitement it gave me when I first got it. I need to make these NJ roads to know I’m here still 🥲🥲
Hoping to one day pick up an RX8 as a project. It's been one of my dream cars since I drove it in the original NFS Most Wanted lol
I didn't know bout the Rx8 until stumbling upon it on a top cars to avoid list on yt lol
I got my low milage RX8 in January with 40k kms on it. Absolutely loving it!
Love to hear that haha
I'm still rocking my Koyo, did a track day at Blackhawk Farms and coolant never went above 98C at peak heat around noon. I'm wondering if you have some other issue that's like, "Why didn't I think of that?!" type of issue... Given how old the car is, make sure you inspect your oil cooler lines; salt and age will corrode those and give you a nightmare to deal with when they do go on you
I loved my 09 six speed rx8, babied it sold it with 110k still running great. Regret getting rid of it.
Year 3 video coming?
Just dropped
I want to buy a shell Rx8 and put a new crate engine for $6500 and a new transmission for $2500 but my father is calling me stupid because “why not just buy a working car” I really want a rotary car that I can also daily drive and I don’t care about how much gas costs since I only drive 10 minutes each way to work
You need to drive the car hard. 10min drive to work ain't gonna do the engine good. If you drive the frequently after work that's fine. From personal experience my Rx7 Fc lasted 7 years of me owning it. At the time I only drove to work and back home. It was also a 10min drive, again that's just my experience with the car.
@ thanks for the reply. Yes I would definitely drive the crap out of it after work lol. I’m thinking about tracking it, that’s why I think I want a new crate engine and transmission
Making me want to buy one now, in the UK they're deadly cheap, and I've always to say I've driven a rotary
I heard rebuilding them in the UK is a lot cheaper too
I like center placement a lot better as well.
Bought mine with 70k miles and sold it with 130k miles with no major issues. I drifted and tracked mine and was still my daily. Look for a manual they have stronger engines and have a bit more power
Looks great. May I ask where you purchased the 3 gauge pod from please?
Bro you should do a version of this but focusing on daily driving on New York, can't imagine driving my baby in NY with all the crazy drivers
Good idea 😂
Completed my first year with mine and cant wait to have more.
