      MMA monomers stink. I can't really define what it smells like, as I instantly got a migraine from the smell, and this was with a KN95mask on and working outside in the fresh air.
      Some monomers say healthy strong nails and MMA free, but do not actually give a MSDS sheet or complete ingredients list, so no, it doesn't always list that it contains that.
      I suspected a pricey monomer to have it, tested it outside, and after an hour soaking, nothing came off, and eventually had to get Amazon involved to get my money back.
      After a few incidents, even with real mma free low odour monomer, and my body hating them, I gave up trying to do acrylics, and I only wanted to sculpt charms with it.
      BTW, Mia's Secret was super nice when I asked to return their monomer, and I turned around and bought gel polish from them with the money.
      So if a brand is sketchy when you want to return a product after having issues with it, be cautious about purchasing from them.

      Hi Melinda. No, I didn’t know cancer was a side effect. The thing about MMA that bothers me is how it’s not regulated by the FDA so companies can get away with putting it in monomer.

    • @LovedbyVerdieNails
      @LovedbyVerdieNails  3 года назад +6

      I think edens Rose and not polish are lower odor. Also you have to throw away your towels outside or put them in a sealed container. If not that’ll make the smell linger. Young nails doesn’t linger more than 20 minutes for me.

    • @TheOriginalLexa
      @TheOriginalLexa 2 года назад +8

      Throw out the paper towels or whatever you are using to wipe your nails once you’re done and the smell will go away quickly. I put mine in a plastic shopping bag, tie it up, then put it out in the trash can in the garage. I’ve discovered that you need to do that with every monomer to rid the house of the smell. After plenty of trial and error, for me, the Young Nails monomer is the best, especially if you use it with their acrylic or Slick Pour powders.

    I'm beginner and i want to know do i have to mix acetone and monomer together or can i just use monomer

    • @LovedbyVerdieNails
      @LovedbyVerdieNails  3 года назад +1

      I have never mixed acetone and monomer. I’m not sure what it’s supposed to do. Monomer in its on has worked fine for me.

    Have you tried using any other type of liquid as monomer? I’ve seen other people on RUclips use household products like rum, vinegar, body spray etc..

    After this video I bought uv fusion Kiara sky and not polish. Uv fusion is the least smelling but it dries very slowly. Takes time to get used to but retention was great. Not polish and kiara sky r veryyyy smelly still. If you don't mind smell not polish is the best for application.

    Hello what kind of brush do u use?

    • @LovedbyVerdieNails
      @LovedbyVerdieNails  3 года назад

      The brush in the video was from dipped in pretty. I don’t think she ever restocked her brushes but it’s my favorite. I also like Long hair pretty nails brush, and on Amazon a brand called Pana.

    Does yn have mma?

  • @Dollyxolove
    @Dollyxolove Год назад

    I just want to put this out there, I have been investigating which monomer to use and from what I am learning is that MMA is a no go and EMA can sometimes cause an allergic reaction to some people. Something to be mindful that I burly found out is that some manufacturers don’t fully disclose all their ingredients for “secret recipe” reasons. If people find a way to test for MMA when a company claims to not have that ingredient in their product, SUE!!! Just be careful when buying monomer especially if you’re a beginner like myself.

    Mia’s Secret is HORRIBLE!! Idk what it is about it, but it’s HORRIBLE!! Idk what the WEIRD stench is, but it’s so bad I only got one nail done. I cannot. I may just go back to polygel because this is HORRENDOUS!!
