I watched this nearly a year ago and just came back to it because I'm getting notches in my sidewalls and it's definitely my form application. Thank you so much for creating these videos for us to go back to. You're the best teachers I've had!
I'm late to this party, but I'm glad I made it. Literally everything you pointed out I was like , that's me, me again, yup, that's me!LOL This has been a great help and I cannot wait until I change my nails...just did the yesterday. Lol
As a beginner this was one of the most helpful videos! I’ve been trying to get skinny nails but Ive been over filing them to the point that’s it’s not a gradual tapper and I’m left with a notch. Shaping is so much harder than it looks.
This is my problem. Having my nails to wide. THANK YOU,THANK YOU for this video!, I started my entire nail career just off your videos. ( 2 1/2 years.) Now I'm in school for this. Yall are the best
Thank you so much Tracy for this video I struggled with the notches on the side all the time and never could figure out what I was doing wrong. thank you thank you
Started doing my own nails due to the pandemic, it's something I've always wanted to learn and that kick started it for me. I'm so grateful for these videos and the information provided, this is a great tool for people who may not be able to get into a class setting, just run these videos over and over until you get it perfect!! I'm so grateful, now I'm not where I want to be but I'm also way further than where I was a year ago!! I can't wait to do my refill!!
this. this right here. this is why every set i do looks like a janky mess. i can't shape worth a damn and always wondered why (lucky for me i don't work in a salon, i'm basically just licensed to screw up my own hands) and THIS. my stupid waste of time and money of a nail school wishes they could've taught me as well as you do for free. bless your light.
This is so helpful. You guys are the best. I’ve been trying to learn a new trade (goldsmithing) and I keep being like “Who is the Young Nails of this industry, with the quality products and training?” Every industry should have a Young Nails equivalent
Such a great lesson. I know there's plenty out there about filing and stress area but this is just perfect. I love the close ups and the explanations so much! Thank you for this.
THANK YOU LORDDDDDD!!! Tracy this was exactly what I’ve been having issues with! With the forms, and the filing away of the side walls. OH MY GOD THANK YOU. 🙌❤️👑
I welcome your video cause they very edifying I am learning a lot it is said one is never to old to learn that is so correct at times I thought it was only me myself and I were having some of these issues or problems glad to know I am not alone thank you guys for your honesty in teaching
Thank you Tracey, this video was so helpful for me to understand what not to do - so many videos show us what to do but unless we can identify with our mistakes it's hard to learn from them. I think I was doing most of the wrong things without realising 🤣
Tracey you're the best I was doing these exact things wrong which is why my nails were wider than I wanted. I need to bring my sides up instead of keeping on filing them in. Bless you 🙏 I thought I was going to go nuts.
Thanks for this video! I have wide flat nail beds and I have struggled with overfiling. I'm getting better, but this kind of video helps me see what I need to avoid.
Great video!! I really struggle with this when I do my nails. I do gel on my nails and when I form them, there is always a little gap and I file and file and it surfaces again.
I recently went back to universal tips and I prep my nails , cuticle , remove the shine , etc . Maybe it’s the glue? (it’s not YN glue) but my nails keep falling. What are some tips ?. Going back to forms btw ! Lol . Thank you guys for all your knowledge. It always helps . 🥳
Thank you sm for clearing this up :) I’ve tried all 3 ways of filing my sidewalls and I was so confused with what was the right way to file. My nails were looking the same from the top but from the side they all looked different. Lol Thanks again this helped tremendously 💕
Me neither. In almost 30 years I’ve really had some bullshit nails but the ‘foreign chop shops’ are the only thing around. I’d be willing to pay double for someone that actually knew what they were doing including sidewalls and knowing the proper place to build up the apex of my nail.
@@modaciouslav4792 I absolutely would pay a premium price for a great set of nails. I know their game is making money but sometimes it’s also about repeat business and that means you have to give your customers good service. That’s not found around my area.
OMG, thank you for this! For the life of me, I couldn't figure out why my nails kept breaking at the stress point even though I knew the structure was correct. So incredibly helpful and spot on!
That is my pet peeve area. I have stopped getting my nails done after 20+ years because no salon around me does it right. They will file up into my sidewall so I will no longer have a c curve. My nail will literally be flat when you look at it from the front. I love you guys. I wish you were in Florida.
Great video. Thank you for sharing this information. It is just what I needed. You all are so nice to teach us so much. Thank you again. Love you all. Stay safe and healthy.
I learned so much thank you so much this is definitely a must see .... I wanted to know you if you could do a video on free edge ... how to get that crisp free edge like a do’s and don’t video
Thank you SO MUCH for this vid!! Totally going to have this on whenever I do nails to remind me! Sidewalls are always the hardest for me, especially when doing my own nails. I have flat nails and DEEP sidewalls 😬 it's always a struggle to even get a form on correctly bc my skin is always in the way of the corners.
Can you guys cover tips and tricks for extra long nails including sculpted dealing with the sidewall and just general client issues that might occur from extra long nails including lifting for example
Thanking you for this video, i have bulky sidewalls poor blending as i am the notch creating 👸 so avoid this but no more gonna practice like a boss! Please can we have efile vid for cuticle work, and how to correct set gel when it as run into the cuticle or side wall
Question-done full set of acrylic nails on tips and at the end-when nails nearly finished-1 nail is a bit shorter the others-how to fix it? Completely remove and apply new? Or use nail form to extend that shorter nail? What’s your advice YN team? Can you do video on that?or short all the other nails? Ps. It didn’t happened on client but on myself :/
Great information, ty! I have a chipped thumb nail, it's been very hard to get a form to fit properly! Glad you brought out the ✋ hand! How do you recommend getting tips to stick on the practice hand? I don't want to use up all my forms practicing on the hand. Thanks!
Wow this video was incredibly helpful. Do you happen to have a do's and don'ts of acrylic application? I couldn't find any from you and I've watched countless videos to try and learn how but i'm still not getting it.
My problem is that ladies go out with a new set and straight sidewalls, and after 3 weeks they come in with pieces missing out of that sidewalls. Then I want to file it straight and I probably create or make the existing nodge worse. How to fix that? Btw I love this video! Thankyouuu
Can you please do a video on how to position your clients hand while we are filing and applying an extension, as a newbie I find myself not knowing how tell my client (in this case my sister bc I’m not licensed) how to position her hands and arms while I’m filing especially. I tried to find videos on this but no luck. Is an arm rest necessary? Thanks
This helps so much! I was totally over filing that side creating the dreaded thin spot on the notch area! What color pink and glitter (flash and burn?) was Tracy wearing on her thumb? I am in love with it! #blackfridayiscoming
I'm about to redo my nails today, and I'm SO glad this video came through. Sidewalls are things I'm still struggling with.

I am forever grateful!!!

This is the best video ever! Really helped me to understand what I am doing wrong.
I totally do the “short change” thing a little thank you for this video!
Of course! We hope you learned something new from this video on acrylic sidewalls.
Thank you so much for this video! The side walls and cutting into those little corner where the skin Meets the free edge are my nemesis!💖
