This video is so helpful!!! I am removing to much liquid from my brush.... No stirring with the brush, it's monomer not soup 😜 dip, tap, bounce bounce bounce..... Great instruction! As always! Thanks 👍
I LOVE your products. I'm a beginner and I started off with other acrylic and by far YN is the best. I tell everyone about your products. I am amazed how YN is for their customers in price and quality. I thank God for your mom starting Young Nails. I would like to meet her one day.
Thanks Greg....you're just an AWESOME TEACHER....a few words on the "heating Up".....you are correct when you said chemistry. When monomer and acrylic combine they start forming interconnected bonds. When it gets to the stage of heating up is when the bonding is at it's maximum. Once this occurs the cool down starts and the solidifying becomes complete. That's in that magical moment when you can "pinch" the nail. Chemistry is just FABULOUS....I guess that's just the geek in me! I always love how you explain pearl size and how to achieve it. I have learned so much from you over the years that I truly do owe you a big Thank You! Keep pumping out those fabulous video's! 💜💙🧡💛💜🤎💗💟💕
Thank you so much for sharing this information on brushes. You have answered all my questions even one I didn’t know I had.lol. You cover everything so well. You are so talented as a teacher. I love all your videos. I have learned so much from you. Thank you again. Love YN people. You all are great.
I am a new nail tech. I worked in a salon briefly. I do my own acrylic nails and so enjoy your tutorials. I am so thankful that you do these because it helps me learn the proper way to SCULPT the nail. I hate tips and I always felt it was cheating! At my age I do not see myself getting back into the salon but truly enjoy learning from you! Thank you so much for doing these. I wish I was in California to take your classes in person. Love your products! Be well!
THANK YOU!! I bought a size 8 brush to start with because I was intimidated by the bigger ones but then I kept thinking that I was doing something wrong with picking up my beads because they were so small. I think I’ll try a 10-12 now 😁
I got the small brush with the kit and it was great but then I found someone selling the signature brush for $10 dollars. I instantly purchased it and even though it was my 1st time using larger than 10 I felt it was better. Now I only use that brush for all of my sets. I feel it's better in shaping the nail in every way. If I ever have to replace it I'll definitely buy it again even at full price.
OMG thank you soooo much for your online tutorial. My pearls were small and dry with my small #8 brush. Because of your instructions on brush size and wetness my pearls are large enough to work with without drying out on me. Thank you again 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🙂😊🙂🙂🙂☺️😊 Michelle
Control the bead ok I got it .I'm a homemade beginner nail technician. I love to do long nail.So I'm thank you for the helpful tips. I can't wait until I can travel to take your class. I'm in NYC. I'm working on my pearl with an size 8. Since june all of my nail fell off. So I said all try to so this myself. Thank you
I really been kicking myself for not buying the signature brush during the last sale. To me YN is the top acrylic. I have acrylics that heat up. I have acrylics that dont self level, they don't even work well with their own systems. YN is the best for everybody. It is extremely workable for beginners to pros. It's truly one of a kind I have never experienced such a beautiful effortless lay.
I am in love with Greg's signature brush. It is the best. I have tried so many different brands, and don't get me wrong I've had some good ones even from Amazon. BUT I always came back to his brush. I even bought a back up second one. Lol
Agreed, Greg's signature is the best out there! I wasted way to much money on Amazon brushes. After watching this video I got my artistic sculpture brush out, both brushes are da bomb! If you need a great brush buy Greg's signature brush, you won't be disappointed! I should have brought another while it was on sale 😭
Just want to say Thank You for all ur utube demos…. I went to Tony n Guy in Colorado n the nail teaching was very vague n u guys have filled in the gaps
Don’t know where I been. But u are my favorite guy so far. I had a lot of questions pertaining to this area. U gave me all the answers I needed. From the right size brush to applying beads. Keep up the good work. I appreciate you for being so informative. Thanks again YN
Thank for this information I love using your signature brush but I noticed my application was so much better with the YN started kit brush! This explains a lot ❤️🙏
after using the brush that comes with you core kit and the first time doing my wife's fill i have confidence were they perfect no, but did I take 2 hrs yes 😀, did my wife said I cleaned and shaped them to perfection yup! so im happy and I use your technique to pick up the bead thats what works for me and will try your other tips before I move to the 12 brush thanks!
Just read the description on here, and now I don't feel so silly for wanting to go backwards since Greg was a firefighter. I was in school 11 years ago for cosmetology and I was rocking it! I ended up pregnant with my son and on bed rest never made it back to school. I landed in an EMT class that got cut short over covid. 🙌 since that, I started building a collection of crappy cheap acrylic and brought out my old hand. It's calming. And now that I know a firefighter went to nails I don't feel so alone 🤣
I have been a physical therapist assistant since 2007. I’m starting nail school in September because that is my passion. It’s fun and relaxing for me to do! Never too late to start something new!
#young nails it also depends on the pressure you are placing on your powder if you don't have the correct amount of monomer in your brush 😉 I brought your signature brush and I am really not ready to move up to the size 12 yet and that's ok because I will get there. But like Greg said first master the application with a number 8 and I want to be able to be more consistent with my different sizes of Beads .
AMAZING!!! You really have e lightened this Brit. I have been removing too much liquid. I'm straight into your website to get ordering. You are an awesome teacher thank you. Keep going please! 💚
I noticed that!!! It does not heat up! When filing there’s no heat, when using the protein bond there’s no heat. The one thing I like as a beginner is that the monomer is not strong. My house does not smell for days and it is not that strong. The other thing is there is different setting time in the polymer (powder). Personally, coming from a medical background with chemistry I like seeing the the reaction you created between the powders. I am having problems just using a # 8 doing nails on myself. I am not looking to do nails on others.
Thanks for this video. Super informative, and the bead size being shown from each brush so helpful. I'm working with size ten bead size has been my biggest problem.💅🎨✨💖💖
I cracked up when Greg repeated the thing about the tips. The look on his face. I mean come on, anyone who knows would know not to ask. 🤣😂 I'm still laughing
Great video. I’m really thinking about not using tips anymore. I love the sculpture look. Also thinking of buying your number 12 brush. I’ve been a nail tech for about 8 years and in school started with a small brush but quickly moved on to a number 20 brush. I love it!! But I’m wanting to get back into more intricate designs. Keep up the good work. Please come to Las Vegas someday. Not a lot of places carry your products and a lot of the nail techs wish stores did!!
I prefer a sculpted nail than tips. It looks more natural to me. And I agree with you 💯 that using tips is cheating. Every time I got my nails done they only knew how to glue on tips and then apply acrylic. I hate that. So now I'm only doing my own. When I get better at it I'll be doing my mom's and my sisters. When my daughter gets old enough I'll do hers as well.
My first two sets I used tips but I've been sculpting ever since. I should probably practice tips more just so I can say I'm really good at them too lol.
#young nails would you recommend learning to sculpt a nails instead of using tips especially for beginners once you have mastered your overlay?? Because I have been thinking about not using tips and going into sculpting from the start as I have definitely done the overlay and I still practice bead size daily
We definitely recommend learning how to sculpt nails. Tips work great, but there will be times when tips won't fit every client's nails, especially nail biters, so learning to sculpt will be easier in the long run. In addition, when done correctly, sculptured nails can wear longer/better because the acrylic/hard gel is completely bonded to the nail and you don't have the extra layer of glue, which can break down quicker.
Please email ray@youngnails.com for more information on our upcoming classes. Must be 18+ for classes. Classes are for educational purposes only. Not for official licensing or certification.

The acrylic would get stuck between the bristles and before I applied each application of acrylic I was cleaning the brush out. I made a mess.

As a new Nail Tech two years ago, I tried several different brands to see what worked best. Young Nails is the BEST!
Can you do a video on nail liquid? How often do you change it in your dappen dish? Proper way to dispose of it?
thanks for the suggestion, we will let the team know!
you dispose of monomer liquid by poring it into an absorbent paper towel then into a plastic bag.

I go back and forth between forms and tips. I get tired of one and switch to the other.
Experts (like YN), say firms are faster and the gold standard.
Great video. Makes sense
Please can do a video on the different monomers and explain why odourless monomers don’t preform/work good. 💅🏼
They don’t talk on other brands, but I’ve heard low odor ones take longer to dry
Here is a video we made about odorless monomer: ruclips.net/video/d8CybZx0SD4/видео.html

No, you explain why you can't give them a flattened look. It's not good for their natural nail nor the enhanced nail.
