    Such a fun theme for a party. Loved the orange leisure suit and the matching shift dress and best. Perfect material for them.

      Thanks!! It was almost like a Halloween party, when you see the next couple walk in we all laughed and cheered. It was so fun! I am positive that material was upholstery material! Scratchy and everything! But it was soooo 70s!

    Have you ever considered, when you’re planning a non-cooking, non-food assembling video, using a different recording location? Just a thought. More casual setting when you don’t need the essentials in the kitchen.

      True but they say the kitchen is the heart of the home as well don’t you think? 😊

      We spend so much time in the kitchen that it's a natural gathering place. But you're right! We could totally have a sit down with our coffee and tea and have a regular old chat, like a podcast or something! Food for thought. Thank you!

    Here in the US creme de menthe comes in both clear and green. I hate to admit this, but my Mom made some of these dishes up until she passed 10 years ago. At this point they have become family traditions 😂😂

      There is no shame in admitting you love a good meatloaf or hedgehog toothpick arrangement! LOL. We definitely had some fun with the food and there was a lot of reminiscing. My husband especially liked the ambrosia salad because his mom used to make it for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. I think we have green creme de menthe here too but maybe it just wasn't in stock that day. I'm sure I've seen it.

    Yes, the 70s! We ate a lot of Jell-o but never those salads people made. I guess my dad wasn't into that. :) I wish I was your neighbor. We would have so much fun. We really don't have people around us to do a "supper club". I need to find supper club people. This is fun.

      Go and find your supper club people! They are out there!!
      I (Christie here) personally think we are craving connection more after the isolation of the pandemic. I grew up in a farming community that did picnics, ball games, family dances, etc. We all knew our neighbours for miles around. I try my best to connect with my neighbours (that's how I met Sharla - I stopped in to invite her to a housewarming when we moved here) and while we don't all get to be best friends and run freezer meal youtube empires, it just feels great to know who is on your block. Sorry I'm getting a bit philosophical but Community is a passion of mine!

      @@FreezerMeals101 Community is important. I grew up in small town America. We all knew each other and our parents felt safe knowing we were with good people. (well, we did get in trouble at times but it was the 80s! :) I'm loving this community you both have built and will venture out to find my supper club peeps.

    🎉🎉 Sounds like so much fun. I love the Idea. I’ve always wanted o a game night with other couples but can never get my hubby interested. I do get together for game night with a group of girlfriends but it’s not really a monthly thing.

    • @FreezerMeals101

      It's always more fun when you can get hubby on board. Maybe just try one out without the commitment of doing it monthly until he sees how much fun it is! Good luck!

    I have a question: what do you do with the bags you used? I tried washing mine but it was imposible. Do you guys just throw them away? I just want to know in case I'm doing something wrong. Thanks for the postings. great work!!

    • @FreezerMeals101
      @FreezerMeals101  Год назад

      Some people definitely do wash them! Inside out in the top rack of the dishwasher works, or by hand. Mostly we toss them unfortunately because they can get beat up in the freezer and get holes in them and stuff. There are some silicone bags available on the market. We've tried a few brands and none have really hit the sweet spot, so for now we're sticking with these.

    Who picks the Theme? And how? I mean is it more food theme or dress up theme? And how much advance notice do the other couples get to prepare for this theme? I think it sounds like fun. Side note- Love the Hedgehog.

    • @FreezerMeals101
      @FreezerMeals101  Год назад

      Soooo the host couple picks the theme. There isn't always a theme. And really, we don't usually go all-out and buy costumes for this. In fact, the theme is often a surprise! You show up and it's "elevated pub food" with chicken wings, a flight of craft beers and fancy nachos. Other nights it's Italian or Japanese. There's not usually this much participation required. One time, we all wore blue because one of the couples adopted a baby boy. They are usually simple themes because we can't over-do it each month. We want supper club to be fun, and not a burden. In this case, we went all out and it was worth the extra effort! It was so fun!
