  • Replacing the Battery in my 2019 Kia soul base model. Replacing it was pretty straight forward. Air cleaner was in the way of the lock down bolt. Went with a Walmart Brand Neverstart battery. Supposed to have a 4 year free replacement. We will see what the fine print says. The specs are the same. The CCA is like 40 amps more then the old one so supposedly slightly more powerful. So far as of typing no issues with the new battery yet. We will see how it handles the cold.

Good, that went without incident. Nice that the radio saved everything, that's just a little extra annoyance that nobody needs. Mine clears out when the battery is disconnected, so I beat the system by writing down all the presets on paper.
Not terribly surprised that they'd put a Korean battery in there, and even less of a surprise that's all it lasted. Maybe you'll have better luck with the Neverstart. From what I recall, your engine fires up very quickly, so the starter is engaged for a very short time. That's good, it's less of a drain on the battery, so the odds are in your favor.
Hope your wrist is healing up. Keep some ice on it.

You wondered how long it had been sitting on the shelf before you bought it. The date code sticker shows it was manufactured 10/23 so not long. It was made this month. When i bought the new battery for my truck at the beginning of Octember i dug about 3 or 4 batteries deep in the rack to get one with the newest date, I think mine is 8/23.
Hope your wrist feels better soon.
