      Thank you so much for watching! ❤️ Great question! So, these tables had a kind of slick surface to them. Being not real wood and dated. It was that really shiney veneer, and this paint has held up great on them. There is a "curing" time I noticed. After about 2 weeks the paint bonded and sealed to the surface. I hope this helps! 🙌

      @janettecza2249 Hi Janet! Thank you so much for reaching out! Unfortunately, I'm not able to take on custom projects at this time. However, I recommend checking out some local Facebook groups or Marketplace where you can find talented individuals who offer painting services. There are often great resources in those communities for quick, quality work. I hope this helps, and good luck with your tables and upcoming company!

    • @Happyspacediys
      @Happyspacediys  Год назад

      @lyds7771 Yes, wax works great or you can use a polyurethane top coat. I use both. It just depends on the piece. That's how I decide. Like a kitchen table, I'd use the poly top coat. But book shelf or side table, I would typically use just a wax 😊

      @jeannedelooze1036 Great attention to detail! They look it, but it's just shiny. They were made in the 80s, so it's that slick veneer cover over the fake wood.

    Annie Sloan brushes.

    • @Happyspacediys
      @Happyspacediys  2 года назад +1

      Hi! Only if you are painting with actual chalkpaint and aren't going for a smooth finish. If you watch her videos she does a fabulous job explaining how to paint with them and what to expect. Most painters like the smooth brush free finish. And with natural brushes like hers, it's nearly impossible to get. Hope that helps! 🙌❤

    Do think it would work on bathroom cabinets?

    • @Happyspacediys
      @Happyspacediys  2 года назад

      The paint, yes. But bathroom cabinets I would recommend sanding down the surface and cleaning before any paint. It gets muggy and you want to avoid that cakey sticky feeling latex paint can create. Hope this helps! 🙌

    So does this paint peal or scratch off over time?

    • @Happyspacediys
      @Happyspacediys  2 года назад

      Hi there! Great question! No, over time this paint becomes more cured to the surface area. Which makes it super durable!

  • @jonuvark2385
    @jonuvark2385 Год назад +1

    Will this paint work on sealed furniture? I have an 80's china and hutch my kids won't let me give to Goodwill. The surface is coated with something glossy.

    • @Happyspacediys
      @Happyspacediys  Год назад

      I know exactly that type of furniture! And I'd do some light sanding and cleaning before hand. Else anything latex based will peel right off or get sticky. For that type of surface and piece I would recommend an actual chalk paint like Annie Sloan or Wise Owl. It's a little more expensive but it will save you in time and actually work. I have a table from the 80s that I painted in chalk paint and used wax to seal it. It's been holding up for over 2 years as our TV stand. Hope this helps! 🙌

    What did you wipe down the furniture with? Also does the Behr paint have a semi gloss instead of a matte. Is that a chalk paint?

    • @Happyspacediys
      @Happyspacediys  Год назад +3

      Hi Kathy! Just an all purpose cleaner. You can use dawn dish soap and water. That works great or tsp. As far as semi gloss, I would personally recommend matte paints when using on furniture. And if you'd like a more shiney look focus on a polyurethane gloss/semi gloss top coat. Not sure why, but gloss and semi gloss latex paints have a way of making the surface sticky and will also peel easier. This paint here is not a chalk paint, it's just a matte finish. Behr does have chalk paint. People either love it or hate it 😅 I've done 3 pieces with different colors and it worked good for me. Hope all this helps! Happy painting! ❤

      @@Happyspacediys Thank you ...This is exactly the answer I was hoping for. One more question.I want to paint wooden kitchen chairs with this paint.I was thinking of using my Krudd Cutter as these chairs are very old and pretty dirty. Will the paint still work if I use Krudd Cutter? Will this paint be easy clean since I am wanting to use white for the color and I am thinking they will occasionally need wiping down.

    • @Happyspacediys
      @Happyspacediys  Год назад +2

      @Kathy M krudd cutter is perfect. Just make sure rinse it off. It can leave behind a barrier that can affect the paint. With chairs and heavy traffic items, it's more about that top coating. So the paint will be just fine. It's good to do a few coats vs try to cover it all in 1 go. Make sure they are dry and apply your poly top coat. That will make it easy for clean up and protect any bumps and damage that will happen with kitchen chairs. You'll do great! 😊

    • @kathym2563
      @kathym2563 Год назад +1

      @Kathy M Oh wow! That's wonderful! I'm happy to help! Remember they look ugly before it looks good 😅 Paint levels out as it dries too. Temperature effects drying time. Basically slow and steady wins the race! You got this 💪 If you run into any bumps feel free to reach back out. I'm not on Instagram as much but I do get notifications for RUclips so I'll see your comment and can help you the best I can. You'll be a pro by that last chair 😂 Have fun with it!!

    • @Happyspacediys
      @Happyspacediys  Год назад +1

      You can if you'd like to. Eventually in a few weeks the paint cures enough to create its own barrier. If you'd like extra protection, I would use a polyurethane top coat. ❤️

    I thought sanding was needed for the paint to cling to the wood

    • @Happyspacediys
      @Happyspacediys  Год назад +5

      Yes, you're right. Any of my other tutorials you'll find me doing a full prep. However, not all have the time or are able to sand. There's other ways where you can complete a painted piece and not sand. I still cleaned so that helps and the type of paint this is also plays a significant part in adhesion. I still have these 2 tables, and they get moved around a lot in the garage. Absolutely no problem with lifting! ❤️

    Lip stick furniture painting. I don't trust a product that says no prep or primer needed.

    • @Happyspacediys
      @Happyspacediys  Год назад +11

      I created this video as an option. It's not my normal process of furniture painting. Also, still have these tables and they are looking good and holding up like all my other furniture. I wouldn't take my personal time to create a video with a product I don't trust. I'm not sponsored by this product. And make pennies per video. So I gain nothing other than sharing knowledge. But you deserve to believe whatever you'd like!
