Hi there, Good Morning, I'm so happy to meet a "Shabby Guy" . Its always been women doing the " shabby " thing😊 The dresser looks great and I really appreciate your tutorial. When I was younger, I refinished everything I owned with tung oil, then later, varathane. Now, I'm starting over on all that same old furniture and painting it. Ah, the times, they are a changing. Thanks so much, I'm going to go find more of your vids! 🙏👍🏾✌🏻️

It's safer to always use a primer/blocker so that no bleeds/stains occur after applying a paint to any piece that have been painted before, especially when choosing a light color even if a product is claimed to be no sanding/no priming one. The bleeds/stains may occur only after applying an acrylic top coat. Also: a primer ensures better adhession, evens a surface's absorptivity and helps to reduce usage of a paint. Actually I'm pretty surprised that nothing bad happened to that dresser being repainted grom relatively dark to light. I wouldn't take such a risk though and would use a blocker/primer. But I'm really happy to finally see someone using proper strikes while painting which are along wood fibers.

Hi. I am new to your channel. Loved all of the videos that I have watched so far. I just found Valspar Cabinet and Furniture Oil-Enriched Enamel. Tintable to 1000+ colors. Fade, scratch and scuff resistant. No sanding nor priming needed. I'm going to try it but first prep with mineral spirits. I think that these two options are comparable to Rethunk Junk but at a much lower cost.
