  • Want to know how to paint furniture without sanding? Today's makeover has easy and simple steps that anyone can follow!
    ______
    Update: It's been 2 months since I painted these end tables, and the paint is still just barely scratching when I scratch at it. So, I wouldn't recommend painting with this paint without scuff sanding or priming before.
    I love the finish and the brush free look you can get with this paint though!!

    Really appreciate the video and the simple makeover! The pieces looked to be in really good condition. Your videos are very informative and I’ve learned from you about the scratch test. Just tried it recently… thank you!

    Thank you for the video. If you do use topcoat do you have to wait a whole month for the paint to cure?
    Also let's say you decide to paint on top of this piece some decorative designs with some craft acrylics. Would I have to wait a month for curing or can one paint on after it gets dry?
    I appreciate it!

    How much water did u add-and what was that gizmo you used to make new screw holes? I’ll definitely be trying this-thanks! Oh-would it make sense yo seal it with wax?

      I don’t measure my water to paint ratio… just to whatever feels not thick haha. Sorry but I honestly can’t say.
      Links to the products I used are in the description of this video for ya.
      Yep you could seal it with wax if you need to.

    The problem I have with painted furniture is that it gets sticky. Does anybody knows if this is because I give it too many layers of paint or am I using the wrong paint? Thank you.

    • @ARayofSunlight
      @ARayofSunlight  3 месяца назад +1

      That sounds like the wrong paint to me. Latex paint (the stuff you use on the walls) feels very rubbery on furniture. Or you need to topcoat the paint with waterbased polyurethane to make it feel like normal furniture should.

    Also I noticed it is beautiful to paint so the woodgrain shows.
    I don't know how it is done though.
    It is painted, not paint - washed.

    • @mirandamom1346
      @mirandamom1346 Год назад

      Oak is open grained, meaning that if you don’t use grain filler, you will probably see the texture of the grain through the paint. This paint probably looks much smoother on a wood like maple.

    I'd say the scratch test was a definite fail. Scuff sanding isn't that big of a deal and totally worth it to have good adhesion.

    • @tbtnr9851
      @tbtnr9851 29 дней назад

      Right, theres pretty much no circumstance where you shouldn’t sand before applying paint, unless it’s an overcoat or chemical key
