Check out - "Tonight's the Night", "Young Turks", "Forever Young", "Hot Legs", "Baby Jane" and so many more. You had to have confidence to wear the pants that we wore back then. Rod Stewart is an absolute legend. Pure and utter sign of his time, charasmatic, bit sleezy, great lad. Just had a thought for you to view it from the time being used by another:
Watch Kenny Everett doing a spoof of him doing this song for his TV show. I guess you could view it like an early SNL.
All the artists loved Kenny back in the day, he even had Freddie Mercury for Sid Snots (Kenny Everett character) British Eurovision Violence Contest. An ex DJ who was very edgy for his time.
He, like Freddie, passed from HIV/AIDs.

I saw him live 2 years ago. It was a great show. He can still shake his money maker to the ground and up. He's so funny. He sounds great. I would go to another of his shows in a heartbeat.

We all love Sir Rod here in Scotland - he's a mad patriot - especially when it comes to football (soccer) - I believe he has a full size pitch at his home...

The female lead in the video is the Norwegian model Lillian Muller, who was Playboy's Playmate of the Year in 1976. She later appeared as "Miss Chemistry" in Van Halen's "Hot For Teacher."

Yes, definitely has the disco bass and this was Studio 54 era of the late 70s. And he still sounds the same and the hair is still all there. The last live video of him I saw was 2019 when he surprised his old friend guitarist Jeff Beck and they sounded like they did when they recorded the 2 songs they did that night.

Only Rod could sing hits like this and then put out 3 albums of updated versions of old 30-40's songs and have them sell just as well. The man is just so damn charismatic he can sing anything and we'll still think he is sexy! Not to mention that he has aged REALLY well.

I knew you would react the way you did to this song, LOL - you made my day 🙂
The song came out in 1978, I was 13 then so I have known it ever since. The music, especially that bass is still irresistable! Rod Stewart lived being a big star to the fullest in those years.
Title of the accompanying album: "Blondes have more fun" 🙂

I first heard Rod in 1971 on a car radio, I was 10. I ask my mom who was sing, she said Rod Stewart. The song was Maggie May #1 in USA, UK, Canada. Try Maggie May (live Unplugged and seated), Ron Wood (Rolling Stones & Faces) acoustic guitar 🔥

I saw this tour 1979 (the 1977 tour also). Rod had the BEST BAND of any solo artist at that time. Every band member got to show their skills. Carmine Appice was his drummer in those days. They were all great

Rods Disco years😅. Saw him in 78, gold lame jumpsuit 😅. His rock years lasted 7yrs. Rods Butt is notorious, he had something as a child that caused the sway in his back. If you want the Rock Rod, you have to hear The Faces material after Steve got the boot and Rod and Ronnie came onboard.

In 1979 the royalties of this song were donated to UNICEF (the children's help organization of the United Nations) There was a concert at the United Nations General Assembly with lots of kids in the audience who hysterically screamed "yeah" After the line, Do you think I'm sexy. I saw it on TV. If was hysterical and so ironic at the same time.
