THAT roar has haunted my nightmares for the longest time and every time I hear it in game I go into survival mode. Diablos is such an intense monster I think mother nature went a little overboard. Thank the Five it is an herbivore.
Bloodbath Diablos is scarier BECAUSE it's an herbivore. If it killed to eat, that would be one thing. But BB kills out of rage and hatred - due to a past trauma inflicted upon it by people, yes...but it kills because it WANTS to.
The Blos wyverns are among my favorites, and honestly I see them as a sort of symbol to the franchise as much as the Rathalos is. I hope Capcom takes care to further differentiate Monoblos and Diablos going forward, and even featuring both in the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds, given that deserts and rocky formations seem to feature prominently.
Bloodbath is one of my favorite monsters for the sheer fact it has no super amped element or status yet is still considered one of if not thee strongest non-elder in the series barring the Gods. Through sheer rage and physical might it blows through any and all obstacles in its path be they man made or natures pinnacles. Side note: I know in game there can be multiple deviants and even in lore there can be but I like to think there are only 1 of each deviant, in my head they're the white whales of monster hunter, beings of legend and in taking one down a hunter becomes a legend made flesh. One of the highest achievements a hunter can achieve barring killing a black dragon or super mega apex elder.

Bloodbath Diablos took on armies, and won, but left enough survivors to at least create some sort of first hand account about what was seen. The two aren't even remotely comparable. And if you take into account the abilities we see in game (of which the strength can be dubious at times thanks to the need to facilitate fun gameplay), literally all Fatalis has to do is sit in the air and blast a never ending stream of incredibly hot fire until Bloodbath is left a pile of ash. Even in a potential scenario where Fatalis stupidly stays grounded the entire time, and its scales are easily punctured by Diablos (which I don't believe would be as easy as you make it sound, but I have no concrete evidence to say otherwise) enough that it could kill the Fatalis, that would still, essentially, be a lucky victory. 99/100 times (if not 100/100) Fatalis kills Bloodbath with ease.

14:06 .....Okay, now I'm getting the image of a Diablos acting like an expert herbalist and farmer, inspecting their Cacti like a grunting caveman checking for tracks in its hunting ground, grunting in approval for their find, and an image of a Diablos, its horns completely bloody, woth stacks of Apceros corpses and even a few stray Pukei just accidentally caught in its wake, with their Cacti patches completely clean and practically gleaming, qnd with the caption, "Its not much, but it's honest work".
One other thing about bloodbath. If it enters the maximum rage state, the beast is at risk of burning out or having a heart attack, since a Blos' body is not meant to run at that level.
Pure raw physical strength No elements No gimmicks Just you The beast And only the vast desert to view the victor Diablos is my favourite monster bar none, that being said I would love Monoblos to get a chance to shine
I forgot there was a lore reason for why Monoblos fights are always solo, I remembered the bit about it being the origin of the 4 hunters per party though. Lunastra also used to have that honor, only being available as a solo hunt, though I don't know if there was ever any lore to explain why that was the case, or if they just wanted there to be more incentive for players to play through village quest content. Regardless, I'm curious to see if Monoblos will ever return, and whether or not they'll maintain its "solo only" status when it does.
Monoblos seems to have a build and face more akin to ceratopcian dinosaurs. Not just because of the frill and horn. The beak seems to fit for that type of creature as well. Diablos though I can't even compare to other creatures. But some of its actions and patterns seem like those of bison and wildebeest. Mostly the going back and forth to food/water.
So cool to have Oceaniz as Monster Hunter community's very own Sir David Attenborough 🥳 You sure produce such fascinating and informative MH content of high quality !! Please keep going, fren!! We're grateful to have you 🙏
I don't think I have ever heard of monoblos eating cacti. I have always assumed niche partitioning would lead to monoblos not eating them, especially as eating cacti needs a fair amount of specialisation.
Yay! Finally more Blood Bath Diabolos content! My favourite monster if the entire series, such fascinating idea of a "anti-hunter" unlike Fatalis who is born to destroy us, it develop from the cause of hunters and live life like a hunter facing threats that league stronger than it is, yet it survive, but with not triumph or glory, it merely survive and with the knowing that there is more to come, no enjoyment, pure hatred.
I think it would be awesome to hear you talk about the 2 monsters exclusive to Monster Hunter Stories! As my first MH game, I'm biased, but Makili Pietru and Oltura are talked about less often than even the most obscure monsters imo. Especially for the lore and role they play in the Monster Hunter World!
I wouldn’t mind Diablos takes a break so Monoblos can appear once more. Heck maybe have it debut Monoblos equivalent of bloodbath and make them the reason there are no Diablos.
Unpopular opinion here…. At least from Reddit I don’t know about this part of the community. I always like Monoblos more than Diablos as a monster. Yes I know they basically do the same exact thing, but Monoblos always had a special place in my heart. I wish we get them in future games with maybe a new Variant or Rare species.
Bloodbath using steam from it's body as a weapon is honestly so scary, cause well irl steam can burn like 15 to 20 layers of your skin, so taking that into account plus the amount of steam and force behind its expulsion from the body, one of these things destroying armies must have been a devastating sight to behold. Even with armor on you will be melted in one of the worst ways possible by this thing.
Every MH databook comes with its own phylogeny, like the recent Sunbreak Book: twitter.com/BannedDino/status/1710777772740595766 I have taken those and expanded them into my own phylogenetic tree, which uses taxonomic names I made up using the official names in the book (So Capcom says "Horn Wyvern" and I simply add my own made-up name, Cornucrania, in brackets). remember when 2 black diablos hunts in packs and stalk a battle ship in a live action movie?... yeah i dont remember either, i probably just dreamt it. incredible documentary video of the blos btw, have been waiting for this one. got curios with the next one.
This is my favourite rendition of the rule of the five, I always thought it was a Lao they hunted and not a Monoblos, I knew about the fact that anyone who successfully hunted down one would be crowned a hero but I didn't piece it together with "proof of a hero" cool stuff.
For Diablos, I just had a *Movie Idea*. A beginner monster hunter went out on an exploration. Met with a diablos, stared straight into his eyes locked full with intensity. The hunter acknowledge the danger he is in, and move quickly away from the cacti patches. From a far and looking out through a binocular, he marveled at the beast size and his sheer dumb luck to still be alive. He knows how territorial such a beast is, and how it cares for the cacti patches. As he stood there high up on a ridge, a single fleck of dirt hit the ground below and alert the diablos. Hoping to not agitatete the beast further, the hunter quickly retreats. --------------- After informing this it with the guild, they have decided that the Diablos does not warrant a hunt as it is to far away from civilization and is pretty docile. Hearing this news, somewhat gave the hunter relieved as the beast did spare his sorry ass. he should have left it at that, but being the stupid dumb hunter that he is, he could not help it but become curious on this one diablos. So, he came up with a plan to meet with this diablo again. A few 10 meters away from the spot they met, the hunter waits for the beast to come out to eat/tends to its garden. After some moments have passed, a thundering footstep began to fill the area. The diablos appeared and begin to tend to its garden. Having waiting for this moment, the hunter whistle loudly but also soothingly. The diablos looked directly towards the source of the sound. The hunter now having the beast full attention, began to flung cactus "leaf" towards it. He wishes that the monster would accept this peace offering. Contrary to his foolproof plan, the diablos charged straight to him. The hunter after barely able to dodge, was now trembling and running haphazardly from the beast attacks. Plots - The diablos went back to his garden and notice that its garden was left untouched and the cacti was cactua that was flung was not from its garden - The hunter was mocked and ridicule by an slightly older hunter that got hard stuck on HR 3. He boast how at the hunter's age, he already beaten (repel) a diablos on his own. - The truth is, the bully hunter only fought a juvenile diablos and during their battle the diablos horn was broken. However, the bully also was beaten to death. He was only saved because the juvenile diablo plunged down into a ravine. You know where this is going.... - Back to MC storyline, he went back to the diablos territory...relationship: tolerable I cant come up with more plots for befriending the beast (would love for some idea): - the beast does not attack hunter immdeiately - lets hunter tend it garden - after some trust, the diablo even let the hunter tend to its garden without supervision - hunter bravely entered diablos lair - can now move pretty freely only do not cause noises MATING SEASON - the beast was a SHE! - Hunter almost died, - Hunter almost died, - Hunter should have died, - but no worries, about 3 - 4 male diablos almost died too by being impaled. - The hunter cant even come close to garden or her territory. - Hunter & Palico (forgot to insert our sidekick as the generic MC pet friend) looking from a far playing tic tac toe. Climax: BloodBath & Diablos Everywhere!!! Ending: 1. Hunter died, beast move on 2. Diablos died, Hunter killed Bloodbath and become a Guild Knight, and start killing toxic players
i like Monoblos more than Diablos i really wish he was in World instead of Diablos also i have a theory abotu Diablos's horns, i think they might be many horns coiled up into 1 SUPER horn each, look at the spiraled look of them, look at hor BloodBath's splinter into multiple, this to me means Diablos is technically more like a "Hexablos"
I was so happi I took down a g4 diablos in mhgu first try. Took hours of learning from previous lower rank diablos defeats but once you crack his attack timing and go adept style hammer. The fights super ez
how have you managed to make me feel empathy for a monster i absolutely despise to fight!? I have only ever fought Diablos twice, and each time I was just dragging my feet and wanting it to be over. now I want shirt with a cute lil diablos happily surrounded by his own lil garden of cati ❤
I used to despise fighting Diablos as well, until I learned the cheese. Just in case you're unaware: a sonic bomb to pull it out of the ground followed by a flash bomb after it leaps into the air can give you a pretty big window for damaging it, especially in gens 3 and 4 where the flash bomb causes it to struggle on the ground for a few moments which gives you access to the tail weak point, which is a bit easier to hit consistently than the chest IMO. It's not quite as effective in G-Rank World or Rise/Sunbreak due to how Flash Bombs work, but it still helps a little bit.
Quality content as usual good sir. What version of the freecam do you use to get the zoom-in freeze frame shots they look fantastic. Any help is appreciated thank you.
@@Oceaniz sorry to bother you again sir but may i also ask what version you used for capturing the zoom-in freeze frame shots in rise/sunbreak. thank you again
@@DeanGold13oh rise and sunbreak I just use the ReFramework Freecam + setting the scene timescale as close to 0 as possible. Otis-inf only has one for MHW i believe, which is what I use for that game
i think the reason why Monobloses aren't as common as the Diablos is due to the fact that they were hunted almost to extinction so thus they were illegalized to hunt until they return to their original population.
I kinda want monoblos to get a deviant or a sub species like azure rathalos or pink rathian that is strong enough to actually last in a fight against a bloodbath diablos, why is because i like monoblos also they are the only blos and almost like rival species to eachother so it would be super cool for either one mainly the subspecies because it would give more of a rival feel for them
I love these two buggers, mainly because they represent something that has unfortunately become forgotten in the modern world, in our age of donestication and deforestation: Herbivores are goddamn scary man. Everyone’s afraid of Lions, Leopards, and Hyenas when it comes to the African savannah, but the real threats are the oh so “innocent” plant munchers, like Zebras, Water Buffalo, Rhinos, Wildebeest, Elephants, and Hippos. Yeah, a lion will eat you if given the chance, and so will a leopard or pack of hyenas , but all those guys listed above have to deal with them on a daily basis, forever. Apply that same concept to the world of Monster Hunter, and suddenly a cactus munching wyvern of little to no renown ballooning up over the course of thousands of years into a massive ball of bone, muscle, and indiscriminate hatred suddenly makes sense.
Wait… Wasn’t a member of the horn wyvern‘s that live in the volcano? I wonder what it would look like if there were actual habitat variance of the horned wyvern‘s? Someone did on deviantart made art of some about Diablos
Now here comes a question. where monoblos heart is placed? It is obvious that it's in his body, but when you break a monoblos skull from a daimyo then you can get a monoblos heart, and not only even that you can get it from a shiny drop. So like is he having more than 1 heart or what? Also bloses aren't territorial, they are just overprotective gardener and don't want their cactuses to be destroyed
The newest source on that, MHW Complete Works, uses the terms Pregnancy and Birth when referring to Diablos, but it doesnt specify egg laying, so I kept that ambiguity in the script. They probably do lay eggs tho imo
When i started playing world my friend warned me to not hit a screamer as to not call a diablos Hit it with a slinger rock, calling his bluff Then a diablos came at me A good fight
I think the blos monsters make the absolute least sense. How is something with heavy plate armor, cumbersome spikes, massive horns, and a giant club on its tail supposed to sail effortlessly through the sand? It's the least aerodynamic of any of the wyverns and still has to tuck its huge useless wings to its side in order to burrow believably. Idk they just seem silly
Hmmm after watching this it got me thinking since the Black diablos is the female counterpart of the Diablos wouldn't that mean the White Monoblos is the female counterpart to the Monoblos?
I like to think monoblos are so rare because before the guild was really formed, hunters continued to hunt and kill monoblos without rest for their crimson horn, much like poachers with modern day rhinos.

I love bloodbath, they're so cool with their mishapen horn.
And those moves looks scary and awesome to me.
We need monoblos baaack! or at least a hint that they went extint like UHC says
I doubt the hunters guild would allow such a thing tbh
Imagine if they added Triablos 💀
@@GS_CCC we need to go further and get Hexablos instead in Gen 6
No dont let the species die
White Monoblos is gorgeous
I sure hope uhc is wrong
Always a good day when one of these videos drops. Can't wait to see what you'll be covering on the Elder Dragons!
I think bloodbath is the same Level as a Fatalis since Both destroyed a kingdom
My money is in the Diablos Thought since he destroyed multiples armies
@@familyjobe853 Thats...so incredibly misguided lmao. Fatalis would roast Bloodbath alive without a second thought. If you think Bloodbath wins vs Fatalis that means it would win against the likes of Safijiva and Dalamadur
@@raditz1101 Well If Fatalis is on the ground it could Pierce it. Also Remember the Armor of bloodbath Diablos can resist very big damage and i don t think Fatalis could 1 shot him given how crazy bloodbath is
@@familyjobe853 Fatalis razed an entire kingdom to the ground in a single night, literally so quick that no official records of exist, and it's only known about thanks to stories that are considered myths and legends.
@@randomnpc445 you forgot the bloodbath Diablos Resistance to fire and dragon. Wich Fatalis have. And the ability to Dig. And don t forget his Scream and jump abilities Wich can let him closes the distance and fatalist need at least to get somewhat closes to the ground and it s weakness to dragonator and the fact that when he fire he is in a vurnerable State where he can be easly flanked
Pure raw physical strength
No elements
No gimmicks
Just you
The beast
And only the vast desert to view the victor
Diablos is my favourite monster bar none, that being said I would love Monoblos to get a chance to shine
The 4 hunters story is real, but it’s not tied to Monoblos
@@emblemblade9245 Please enlighten me as to where it comes from then, because every time I've heard it, it's been as described in this video.
Love your content man! Thanks For all your hardwork!😊😊😊😊
I remember fighying white mono for the first time in 4U, seeing it do that U turn charge sent Eurobeat through my head the entire time.
Your terrain shots show how beautiful these games are so well. Always a pleasure to see these
Loving this series!
YEAH BABY!!! THATS WHAT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR! THATS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT! WHOOOOHHH!
This one was really good. Thank you for your hard work on these videos.
I really love your videos they are extremely entertaining and informative even if some of the stuff is guess work and fun storytelling.
Great vid! Looking forward when you eventually make a psuedo wyvern and fanged wyvern docu!
Can you imagine the power of a BLACK BLOODBATH DIABLOS in theory that could very well be possible right?
I think it would be awesome to hear you talk about the 2 monsters exclusive to Monster Hunter Stories! As my first MH game, I'm biased, but Makili Pietru and Oltura are talked about less often than even the most obscure monsters imo. Especially for the lore and role they play in the Monster Hunter World!
Diablos: Nature's most violent gardener.
Blos are one of my favorite monsters! thanks for another great video‼
Diablos is truly my favorite monster, since the first game. Its deviant is 1 of 3 monsters that produces a sound loud enough to interrupt the music
I wouldn’t mind Diablos takes a break so Monoblos can appear once more.
Heck maybe have it debut Monoblos equivalent of bloodbath and make them the reason there are no Diablos.
Bloodbath Monoblos --> Monoblos with two Horns --> Diablos
It goes full circle😂
Unpopular opinion here…. At least from Reddit I don’t know about this part of the community.
I always like Monoblos more than Diablos as a monster. Yes I know they basically do the same exact thing, but Monoblos always had a special place in my heart.
I wish we get them in future games with maybe a new Variant or Rare species.
That bit about proof of a hero almost put me in tears
Would love to hunt with yah sometime. Love the style of your videos. Good luck in all you do!
Monoblos hunting is the OG Monster hunter Theme
Monolops just be a stiracasaurus with a wyvern body
Where do you find that more specific information like Genus and Order?
Every MH databook comes with its own phylogeny, like the recent Sunbreak Book: twitter.com/BannedDino/status/1710777772740595766
I have taken those and expanded them into my own phylogenetic tree, which uses taxonomic names I made up using the official names in the book (So Capcom says "Horn Wyvern" and I simply add my own made-up name, Cornucrania, in brackets).
You can find my Phylogeny for the series, which is also the basis for all of these videos, here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vr0ThfPbrzj87DinYiB-r6P2QFog8oyRDPGy7OlF9wk/edit?usp=sharing
Monoblos, and White Monoblos. Truly a 💎 I miss them and hope they bring it back. Diablos has been seen Thousands of times zzzz
I'll have to find the Playlist because I like this
Nothing beats monster hunter in the morning
remember when 2 black diablos hunts in packs and stalk a battle ship in a live action movie?... yeah i dont remember either, i probably just dreamt it.
incredible documentary video of the blos btw, have been waiting for this one. got curios with the next one.
7:53 What music did you use for the legend bit?
---------------
After informing this it with the guild, they have decided that the Diablos does not warrant a hunt as it is to far away from civilization and is pretty docile.
Plots
- The diablos went back to his garden and notice that its garden was left untouched and the cacti was cactua that was flung was not from its garden
- The hunter was mocked and ridicule by an slightly older hunter that got hard stuck on HR 3.
- Back to MC storyline, he went back to the diablos territory...relationship: tolerable
I cant come up with more plots for befriending the beast (would love for some idea):
- the beast does not attack hunter immdeiately
- lets hunter tend it garden
- after some trust, the diablo even let the hunter tend to its garden without supervision
- hunter bravely entered diablos lair
- can now move pretty freely only do not cause noises
MATING SEASON
- the beast was a SHE!
- Hunter almost died,
- Hunter almost died,
- Hunter should have died,
- but no worries, about 3 - 4 male diablos almost died too by being impaled.
- The hunter cant even come close to garden or her territory.
- Hunter & Palico (forgot to insert our sidekick as the generic MC pet friend) looking from a far playing tic tac toe.
Climax:
BloodBath & Diablos Everywhere!!!
Ending:
1. Hunter died, beast move on
2. Diablos died, Hunter killed Bloodbath and become a Guild Knight, and start killing toxic players
LETS GOOO MONOBLOS APPRECIATION GRRAAAAAAHHHH
Love your videos man
i like Monoblos more than Diablos
i really wish he was in World instead of Diablos
also i have a theory abotu Diablos's horns, i think they might be many horns coiled up into 1 SUPER horn each, look at the spiraled look of them, look at hor BloodBath's splinter into multiple, this to me means Diablos is technically more like a "Hexablos"
I very like fact that both of these creatures are herbivores. It makes them much more unique in comparison to other wyverns.
I was so happi I took down a g4 diablos in mhgu first try. Took hours of learning from previous lower rank diablos defeats but once you crack his attack timing and go adept style hammer. The fights super ez
It’s really sad how monoblos can’t be found in rise and I really like it so I hope someday they add it back also great content 🤩
how have you managed to make me feel empathy for a monster i absolutely despise to fight!?
My nightmare. My MHW build was crushed by the Dioblos. At least 10 trys but I lost count. It's roar is my gaming ptsd sound.
i hope we see both monoblos, and bloodbath diablos in monster hunter wilds.
Great video. 🙌
I'm confused. Based on what I read, it was Lao Shan Lung that killed the Kokoto hero's fiancee?
Could you enlighten me about which is canon?
Quality content as usual good sir. What version of the freecam do you use to get the zoom-in freeze frame shots they look fantastic. Any help is appreciated thank you.
I use Otis_inf's camera, its only available to his patrons tho
@@Oceaniz perfect thank you very much sir
@@Oceaniz sorry to bother you again sir but may i also ask what version you used for capturing the zoom-in freeze frame shots in rise/sunbreak. thank you again
@@DeanGold13oh rise and sunbreak I just use the ReFramework Freecam + setting the scene timescale as close to 0 as possible.
Otis-inf only has one for MHW i believe, which is what I use for that game
i fucking love this channel
does anyone know the music played in the monster hunter ecology title card segment?
i think the reason why Monobloses aren't as common as the Diablos is due to the fact that they were hunted almost to extinction so thus they were illegalized to hunt until they return to their original population.
Don’t believe everything you read in this community
Shoutout to diablos for giving me a nightmare when I was on 7th grade
Wait… Wasn’t a member of the horn wyvern‘s that live in the volcano? I wonder what it would look like if there were actual habitat variance of the horned wyvern‘s? Someone did on deviantart made art of some about Diablos
Thats Vasoborosu, a relative of Diablos exclusive to MHFrontier and thus not covered in this video series :D
So everytime I slaid a black diabolos Islaid 2 monters?
So were is my double reward?😅
Diablos is such a cool monster
How do I get steel gajau whiskers
Me when I see a new oceans vid
Fuck yeah
thanks
Now here comes a question. where monoblos heart is placed? It is obvious that it's in his body, but when you break a monoblos skull from a daimyo then you can get a monoblos heart, and not only even that you can get it from a shiny drop. So like is he having more than 1 heart or what?
Also bloses aren't territorial, they are just overprotective gardener and don't want their cactuses to be destroyed
Near 14:50, so Diablos are barbarian gardener
9:56 🎺🎺🎺
If that's what happens when a daiablos loses a horn I sorta wanna know what happens when a monoblos loses it's only horn and survives to maturity
Remember fellas, get yourselves a girl that loves me as much as a diablos loves its cactus
Thought Diablos laid eggs? They ever had a official confirmation if they laid eggs or not?
The newest source on that, MHW Complete Works, uses the terms Pregnancy and Birth when referring to Diablos, but it doesnt specify egg laying, so I kept that ambiguity in the script. They probably do lay eggs tho imo
Diablos is based on triceratops
Monoblos is based on styracosaurus
I like to think a quiet person growing cactus could "befriend" one over time.
I only just realized season 1 means generation one 😂
Top tier once again
When i started playing world my friend warned me to not hit a screamer as to not call a diablos
Hit it with a slinger rock, calling his bluff
Then a diablos came at me
A good fight
>Dude fights Monoblos for 40 days straight with unupgraded Bone SnS.
>Guild first rule is to limit hunts to 50minutes.
It’s most depressing that Diablos still has no theme. I mean they could have just kept the Bloodbath one for later games, right?
NO now i will feel bad for every black diablos I should have never knew their pregnant
The diablos from Kamura be like 👶🏻
yooo banished ! nice
Hmmm after watching this it got me thinking since the Black diablos is the female counterpart of the Diablos wouldn't that mean the White Monoblos is the female counterpart to the Monoblos?
hear me out monoblos diablos hybrid, Triblos
"proof of a hero" would have made more sense to call it "the blossoming"
"Sufficiently fertilized"... i dare not search out Rule 34 on this premise
Going from the Demons of the Desert to the Rubber Flail Chicken seems like a downgrade, but I don't mind.
I like to think monoblos are so rare because before the guild was really formed, hunters continued to hunt and kill monoblos without rest for their crimson horn, much like poachers with modern day rhinos.
