    Amazing Ma'am, I am from Nepal, Many Families in Nepal have Kul Puja or Mastho Puja also called Dewalo, worshiping their own Family Spirit, In my family it is practiced every 4 yrs, For quiet some time I have been doing a bit of a research on this subject & found this movie on one of my searches & Your video has helped me understand this even further. I have also been able to look at this subject with a completely different perception, Thank you,

      These rituals were always a part of our tradition,but with the advent of modernity ,visiting bhotha kola took a back seat,now kantara movie has emerged as a wake up call,at the end of the day ,these guardian spirits are always our protecting force. We may not feel it ,but there is always a protective shield as an outliner.

    Village deity worship has been a common practice in the Himalayan region in India too. Basically back in our native village we have a small temple dedicated to the Feminine mother Goddess. You can actually feel the energy when you go there. The entire village and even us who have relocated always visit the temple whenever go back. In the entire village there’s this one water source amidst a rocky cliff that never dries up and it originates in the Devi Stan.

    I like her voice, so came here, and the content is also amazing, haven't attended boota kola, but had been to Tulunadu region, as I was travelling, could see how these rituals make a difference, one example is.
    Women in these region are humble and brave, they travel alone in buses, can see lone girl waiting near busstand, which is rare in urban area, the reason is these women have the belief that they have their daivas to protect them, so they do not have the fear.

    • @visheshvashisth
      @visheshvashisth Год назад +1

      @@padmajaakkapeddi1983 I'm talking about the essence of motherhood in deeper terms and not about the gender oriented responsibilities of a mother as a parent in physical world. Motherhood as an attribute needs to be cultivated by both men and women ironically it's more vibrant in men these days specially where women are oriented towards the longing of conquering the world. This very idea of conquering and having mundane achievements is solidifying their ego which further hampers their capability to radiate and offer the contribution on emotional grounds. The outcome is -kids are left to sigh alone or longing of love in them remains unquenched. Oneness, one of the integral aspects of motherhood is diminished with that too. Motherhood demands certain sacrifice which begins with the sacrifice of ego(self). Motherhood and responsibilities are totally poles apart thing. Being a parent suffice the term responsibility but for a true mother there is no compulsions and obligations as such. One might be giving everything to their child as per the social responsibility but if their child is not fine with it or needs certain adjustments and modification then most of people struggle. An ideal mother just nurtures the life he/she is bestowed upon with in a way that fulfills that life, that brings completion in that life and eventually liberation. He/She can go against all the norms for the blissful life of their kid no matter what opinion world makes about her. Motherhood is very flexible and at the same time ferrocious.

    I myself had personal experience at Satya Devata Temple in Gurpur near Mangalore where without me and my nephew asking any questions the Darshana Patri (the Pujary who is pure and the Devi's spirit talks through him) who had the spirit of Devi on him started telling us why we had come there without our asking any questions and solutions saying not to worry about the American visa that my nephew was hoping to receive within 30 days. We were surprised that my nephew had to be in US within 1 month and 8 days , otherwise his green card will be lost forever since he was going to be 21 years of age. It is amazing the Devi told us everything about what will happen to his visa even when (though we went there with intention of asking the question) we did not tell why we came there. My nephew did not even have his passport done at that time not even the interview date set with American consulate in Madras when this prediction happened. He got his passport within 3 days from Bangalore, then upon my brother approaching Madras US Consulate arranged an interview within 30 days and he came to the US along with his mother 5 days before he turned 21. This, consulate interview all happened in 1991 before April 30. There was even a glitch in the affidavit of support letter I sent which was more than a year old . But Devi had said that don’t worry even if there is a problem I will change their mind so that my nephew will get his visa and sure enough at first the consular indicated that the affidavit has to be dated within a year and not past one year’s date (since the affidavit I sent was more than a year old), but since I had made some corrections in the spelling of the name and put new date with my initials which was within the year, that the consular would change mind and approve the visa. My nephew arrived in New York 5 days before he turned 21.

    When I was studying in Mangalore I had the good fortune to see the daiva ritual in one of the temples after which the priest who did the ritual had a change in his voice, demeanour and started predicting future for everyone. He answered my question accurately with the prediction coming into manifestation 5 years down the line just as told.

    We follow this in North Eastern parts of Srilanka. Particularly in Batticaloa and Trincomalee (was there a couple of times for the annual ceremony) this culture is followed without any change and they value it as it protects the community, village or town. Not exactly sure about the accuracy of rituals in Northern parts,should check on it.
    Thank you for the informative content,
    Keep up the good work!

    My mom is from North Karnataka and we have rituals same as Maharashtrians. I remember going to kuldevta and witnessing all the scenes. This ritual is for real.

    We have similar practices in Odisha as well. My village is in the outskirts of the capital Bhubaneswar and we worship our village devi and every year she incarnates in one person and talks to people.

    I believe because I watched it from my childhood that Solapuri Ammoru Thali invoked on my mother and many people come to take blessings and ask questions.
