Just a comment on the 1/4 in foot with guide. I bought 2, 1 Brother brand, 1 off of Amazon. Both were a full 1/16 to 1/8 off and failed the 1/4 in seam test miserably. Tried it on a few test blocks where points mattered and it was a no go. So my advice is always always always do the 1/4 seam allowance test!! Dont just assume that the 1/4 foot with guide will be accurate. Lovely video Rob. I am toying with this one. Such a beautiful quilt.
I was going to make a similar comment. I gave a 1/4 inch foot to my grand to do some charm 4 patch blocks on her mom's sewing machine. She called crying because the blocks weren't right. I didn't think that the same make/model machines would be so different. 🤷 It was a great learning moment for everyone.
Wow! I was surprised to get this tutorial, but after watching a few minutes of it, I’m totally impressed by your very easy going teaching style!!! It’s great how you explain & demo everything! Only, now, do I think I might attempt for the 1st time quilting!! Thanks for the motivation!!!
Looking good Rob. May our Lord continue to bless you and yours. Happy New Year. I so enjoy your show. I’ve been watching your show for a number of years and it’s been a joy to see you grow in your quilting and presentation. ✝️👍🧵Glo
Hi Rob, unfortunately we don't get the chance of these beautiful kits across here in Scotland and the price of shipping and tax make it double the price. Thank you flower for a very informative, and precisely pieced block. Miss your fantastic, rainbow quilt behind you though, because its STUNNING and most definitely my very favourite. Sending crafty hugs to you and your family, stay safe flower. From Norah, Glenochil Village, Central Scotland
Hello Peggie, I had the joy of staying in Odenwald and exploring quite far out in Germany when I was 14 years old, that was 40 years ago. Apart from the wonderful people (and the Buchheimers were lovely, lovely people. This gentle man linked my arm through his as he walked me up the street to watch this parade. He was so proud and I was old fashioned brought up, so my mum made me a Royal Stewart tartan suit, with blank Paton court shoes. The memories even all these years later bring such a glow to me. I remember gettin3 marks to the pound, so it shows just how long ago it was....1980. Have a great weekend lovely lady. Norah
@@norahmcphee4928 I've never been in the hills of the Odenwald, but you must have nice mountains in Scottland, too. One day I will explore with our caravan. I love the Blackwatch Tartan and made me a Natural Form skirt from silk BW Tartan, what I love to wear with a black bodice. I also have a BW Tartan modern kilt from very heavy wool fabric, with leather bands to close, it was really expensive, I love to wear it, too.
Now I'm excited. I was looking for another quilt along to do and I think this is it!! I have to finish a couple I started last year and then I'm good to go!!!
Rob, I've been following ;you for a long time, have purchased your stained glass patterns, and love your shows. I'm frustrated though - every time I see a quilt that I want to make with Michael Miller fabrics, I can't find anywhere to get the fabric/kits in Canada ........ Right now I would like to make the Patch Party BOM but I checked with the (2) vendors listed on the MM website and neither carry it. Nor do any of dozen or so quilt shops in Canada I've checked with. What gives? Where can I get the fabrics/kits??????
This project just launched, and the shops are just now learning. about it too. The info for the pattern and current kits is in the description below and on Leila's website. Please tell your local shops to follow us and get involved in this BOM
You can buy the pattern at Hamell’s fabrics in BC, but it’s not available until January 21st. www.hamelsfabrics.com/shop/c/p/Patch-Party---Block-of-the-Month-Quilt-Pattern-RELEASE-DATE-JAN-121-x53805507.htm
I'm sorry Rob, followed you from the beginning and would love to do this quilt but recently Etsy banned some crafts/stores that created items with a political opinion they did not share. Life is getting uglier and they have invaded not only our institutions, media and sports but now our crafts and this pretty quilt does nothing to take away the stain being place over our Country at this time in history. I will not do business through a company that denies free speech and I will not be muzzled! Do you believe in free speech Rob? Guess we will see. (edit:sp)
I totally understand what you your saying. If you click on the link for the fabric kit it also gives a link to the pattern and both items can be purchased without buying them from Etsy.
Great instructions. I like your colour choices.

Sure hope I can find the pattern. The quilt looks beautiful!

I like the ruler you are using with the angles on. Which one is it please?
That one is the OLFA QR-6x12
Thank you so much. I will buy one.
Does anyone know what type sewing machine Rob uses. It sew’s so quiet and smoothly ❓❓
Yes, haha! The machine on the set is a Juki DX3000QVP, I also have a Juki J150QVP and the long arm J350QVP, each one is amazing!
So will this quilt kit be available in Canadian quilt shops as well. Loved the video.
Happy New.
BElieve me, I've tried to find it, but to no avail. Let me know if you find it anywhere

Where can I get that 1/4" foot? I have a Husqvarna Designer SE Sewing Machine
So Nice 💘💘💘💘💘💘
Hi Rob, Happy New Year. Fun colors. I wish you had pointed out the block on the finished quilt. It seemed to be off camera.
Do you pre wash your fabric before sewing?
Only if I plan to wear it and it. must fit in the long. run, so usually never for quilts.
How do I join and get the kits or is it a use your own fabric quilt?
Check the description box for information and links for pattern and kits. Happy quilting!
To bad that pattern is so expensive... otherwise I would have loved to do this with you
Where is your hat, new look for new year
Where do you get the pattern.have tried to get the fabric but just can’t find it
all the info is in the description below.
Wow you cut your hair. Is this the new year look...looks great on you
I would never use a sharpie. Use a marker or pencil that would wash out.
Did you starch 1st?
Beautiful quilt. Please don’t use a sharpie to mark your half square line. A mechanical pencil works great and zero chance of bleed through.
