My guitar didn’t laugh. After I saw this 17 y/o kid do this, I put mine out with a “free” sign on it. I would try the drums, but there are too many prodigies on that instrument too that’ll make me feel entirely inadequate. I think I’ll try the cow bell. You always need more cow bell in a song according to Christopher. I haven’t seen any prodigy videos on that instrument.

Dragonforce just reacted TTFATF that she did. About 3 weeks from the typing of this. They tried to get her to come play with them on stage the last time they were in France but couldn't get ahold of her in time.

If you like this kind of shredding then you’ll probably dig Yngwie Malmsteen- Far beyond the sun. He’s been shredding Neo classical since the 80’s. He really brought Classical+electric guitar to the forefront.
Don't forget to mention that he was in a car accident and went into a coma, and came out still rocking.

Yes, Tina is incredible, but that original version by Dr Viossy is just perfect. Tina makes some little mistakes here and there, and tend to drag a bit on some parts (no wonder). But Tina was just a teenager, so it makes this even more incredible. And I'm not saying that I could play it better, not in a million years...just that Dr. Viossy is even better.

Son père, d'origine slave, marié a une femme d'origine portugaise, est le gardien de nuit d'une grande école d'ingénieurs, un peu comme le M.I.T. aux USA.

She is a virtuoso, Dragonforce guitarist was like WTF when HE reacted to her Dragonforce cover :) Gojira - The Gift Of Guilt (Live at Brixton Academy, London) chek this band, they play both on the neck and one of them sings at the same time...Gojira are one of the best metal bands out there with crazy guitar and drum skills, we love them, LEX will be inlove ith them
A "Prodigy" she may be, but don't get it wrong. It still takes a lot of long painstaking hours and dedication to get this good. There are literally thousands of guitar players, that have been playing their whole lives that will never get to this level. Yes, extremely talented, she is, but don't take away the hard work that it takes to get this good, its mindblowing! Btw, you guys are Awsome!

She's actually playing the 3rd movement
Correct. The first movement is slow and dark. The second is more airy and alloof. The third is pure metal, no matter what instrument it is played on.

The hours of practice for her to hit every note in one take is beyond words.Guitarists play for decades and never achieve this level,prodigy is the right term I believe
If you like the electric guitar with symphonic music, with a flavor of Transiberian Orchestra… then you have to listen to Nightwish. Arguably the biggest name in the Symphonic Metal genre. More of a chunky guitar than shredfest, but still has it’s awesome solos. I would honestly be surprised if you guys didn’t genuinely enjoy this side of metal. 95% of the music and lyrics are written by the keyboardist, nicked named the Metal Mozart.
Live is best way to listen to symphonic metal since it has that epic sonic quality, particularly Nightwish. Best place to start is from their headline show at Wacken Open Air 2013 (recorded and mixed as a live official live album and dvd; so sound quality is top shelf).

Beethoven was sooooo rock and roll, he was just before his time. I think if he heard this he would be like "yes! That!". They didn't have electric guitars then, but I honestly think he would love it.

I always feel like this is the triumph ending to a feel good film were she is some sort of competition.
It's not just fast playing. She plays it so musically and accurately at the same time. There are many fast players but extremely few can combine all the elements together in the same way she can. She is super talented of course, but still she must have been practised like crazy for a pretty long time to get this good! She has so many very impressive covers.
She's insane. I've been trying to play this song for MONTHS now and can barely play the first 30 seconds

You should really check out more neoclassical metal like Yngwie Malmsteen - Icarus' Dream Suite Op.4, Yngwie Malmsteen - Far Beyond The Sun and Jason Becker - Altitudes. You will be amazed at how well the classical elements are mixed with the electric guitar, those guys are 80's icons!
Also check out "Max Ostro". Another child prodigy playing Yngwie Malmsteen.

I am so happy you got around to this. I’ve suggested it a couple of times because I knew Lex would be blown away. Tina S. is absolutely incredible….her skill is almost beyond belief. I’m so glad you both enjoyed it.
Now you need to watch Junna play a drum cover of “Through The Fire And Flames”. Another truly exceptional talent. And watching her is a whole different vibe. While Tina S. looks almost bored while performing, Junna is smiling the entire time while she’s killing it on the drums.

This is from the 3rd movement of the Moonlight Sonata (Piano Sonata #14) by Beethoven. Most people only hear the first movement which is slow and a little depressing. But the 3rd, this one, is very fast and lively.
Since she started with the third movement, i never thought she would go back to the second or first. great reaction you two!!! ❤

Dr. Viossy arranged this piece for electric guitar. So, technically, she covered it from him. But at this level you can hardly call it a cover. An interpretation like this is a masterpiece in and of itself.
If classical music and rock mixed together are your thing it's time you listen to some symphonic metal. May I suggest the band Nightwish doing "Ghost Love Score" live at Wacken in 2013. You can thank me later.

The reason you like this is because you can see and appreciate the guitar being played versus just hearing it.
Plus its also insane guitar playing she's not the only person who plays this insanely fast and clean.
Playing the neck of the guitar by “tapping” the strings has been around for quite a while. Eddie VanHalen popularized it in the 1980s, but it is a technique that exhisted in classical and flamenco guitar for many decades before Eddie thrust it into the public’s conscious. This was an exquisite performance. Too bad Tina does not play publicly any more.

Classical Metal is the definition of “Opposites attract”. The band… The Human Abstract do a very good job at combining the 2 genres. I’d recommend the song’s Antebellum and Faust.

2. Funkadelic - Maggot Brain (a little trippy, but i love it :))
3. Stevie Ray Vaughan - Little Wing or Voodoo Chile (one of the undisputed GOATs oft guitar playing)
4. Van Halen - Eruption (one of the greatest Solo guitar pieces ever)
5. John Gomm - Passion Flower (will introduce you to the Genre of percussive fingerstyle guitar)

This shows exactly why I grew up with a love for rock and metal music.
You have to master your instrument (to a certain degree) and most metal music is written by the artist. Almost the complete opposite to rap,and dance music.
How many top charting artists you think actually write their music or lyrics now?
Most of it is over a generic beat made by a 3rd party with cringe lyrics over the top. Heck most can't even sing mumble rap I'm looking at you haha.

This guy I know called Taranach told me to recommend listening to the guitar duel from the movie Crossroads. He said to specifically mention that Steve Vai, Ry Cooder and others combined metal riffs, great blues and a finale of classical music into a wicked performance that totally rips! Taranach said you two would both love the "differing parts woven into a tapestry of awesome".

I was just learning how to play guitar back in 1981. A friend of mine who was already very talented and had received instruction in musical theory told me that the music we were always listening to (heavy metal) was derived from two different sources. One was the blues, and the other was classical music.
There are two main sets of scales that are used in rock music - the blues scales and the classical scales. Some artists choose the blues scales and others choose the classical scales. Heavy Metal in particular can be one of either of them.
Listen to 80s Ozzy Osbourne, with guitarist Randy Rhoads. You can clearly hear the Classical element of his playing in songs like Mr. Crowley and Over The Mountain. Another guitarist that is heavily classical is Yngwie Malmsteen.

It's not her technique, it's the cover of Dr VIOSSY's composition. You have to look at his tablature.
