Handyman, I just wanted to say thanks for your channel. I have been worked as an exterminator for the past few years, and the company got bought out and went to shit. Myself and my supervisor are really handy guys, and we decided we were fed up and wanted to work for ourselves. We started our handyman/home improvement LLC, got our business accounts set up, and we just cleared $2,200 at our first job. The feeling is absolutely amazing to be working for ourselves, having happy customers, and not dealing with corporate shit. We are gonna keep it as a weekend/offtime business for at least another month or two, but then we're flipping off the boss and cleaning out our trucks. Your advice and videos 100% helped us make this decision.

It is a nightmare. I just got done sanding some repaired drywall last night. I don't have a fancy vacuum sander and I had white power all over my body lol.
You should do caulking after you prime, many times your caulking can fall because your drywall has no PVA and sometimes the drywall sucks it up a lot and caulking will come off
Lesson I learned the hard way, make sure when you paint the ceiling you go with the direction of the light coming through the window or else you will see the paint strokes. With the paint, not the primer. Also, applying drywall sealer before the primer helps too and prevents the bleed through.

Love the video, I have never done a celling before. I have one question, why caulk where the celling and the wall meet? Is it for aesthetic or does it have a purpose?
Behr Premium Plus paint is okay but has ZERO scuff resistance. I suppose if it's on the ceiling it doesn't matter. For interior walls, if you're going to use Behr at minimum, use their Ultra line.
What's the reason for caulking edges of ceiling/wall, Handyman? Aesthetics, or does it help prevent any future damp from forming? Not something decorators generally do in UK - but then there are many things we don't do properly pfft.
Has nothing to do with things being damp. It is how you get a good paint line from ceiling to walls. There wa an earlier comment form someone in the UK and they said it is common practice there too.
@@TheHandyman1 Perhaps in bathrooms where tiles meet the ceiling, but I see many properties and it's not something I would say is common in UK.
