I know absolutely nothing about repairing engines. My lawn mower stopped working and I wanted to see if I could figure it out before taking it for repair. I followed everything step by step and it works now!!!!!!! Thank you so much! I feel so proud of myself today lol
I never worked on a machine in my life, and I had no clue on how to fix my lawnmower. After following your step-by-step instructions, and two pulls my lawnmower is back running. It hasn't run for almost 2 years. Thank you so much for saving us money and teaching us the tricks of the trade.
I pick up the same model lawnmower-mulcher for 25.00 it was missing the air filter cover and the blade was bent. First thing I done was put a good spare blade on it changed the adapter and got a air filter cover from my parts lawnmower and put a new filter on it and plug. Fired over good compression. So I took off the carburetor and gas tank and cleaned them really well. It started right up but it had a little noise from the spare blade. So I bought a new steel gator mulching blade. It runs perfect for 50.00 into it. These new models Briggs have a bad design. Maintain the mower regularly pull the carburetor and tank and front wheels they like to get dirt and debris in the gears. Very great video workmanship and communication. Keep up the great work
I picked one up at a yard sale $45 bucks and did a tune up before starting, had been sitting 10 years or so, I added Lucas injector cleaner to clean the jets and any other internal components, runs like a charm I love it!!
Watched this last weekend after going by friends house and verifying spark etc... never seen a plastic carb. But pulled it apart and the jets and holes didn’t look clogged but I ran some wire through it all.! It is a 2014. Fired up after second pull. Thanks a million!!!
Worked!! Watched this 2xs and did it step by step on my troybilt. Started right up and sounded brand-new. Never stuttered or anything. This after 2 weekends of it running for 30 seconds at a time. Cannot thank you enough!
Got this exact mower for free. A buddy of mine pulled it out of a shed from a clean out. it wouldn't start so I followed this video and now the mower is purring like a kitten. great video, super helpful. Thanks!
Thank you so much..My Troybuilt 3 years old always started on 1st or 2nd pull..Started mowing lawn and it simply died...Got new air filter put starting fluid in the carb...Same thing starts 2 sec later it died..I did what your are doing a few years back on my craftsman..I just needed a refresher course and yours is perfect. Back outside I go.. Thank ya much!
Thanks you got mine running. I've had mine for about 4 years now and every spring I have had to take it in to get it worked on with this same issue. This year I decided I'd try to do it myself and found out I've WASTED so much money. Also love those Bosch impacts. I have a set also and they're not so powerful you can accidentally strip something yet still strong enough to accomplish just about everything.
I have been out of mower repair for a few years and this got me up to speed real quick, it`s the little tricks and tips that help ya through. After having done the preliminaries I narrowed down my search to the carb and then I saw your video and viola. 10 minutes later the little heap of metal fired up and away it went. Thank you
This was immensely helpful. Thank you for posting this video. Mine wouldn't stay started after it did start. So watched your video and then just cleaned it myself. Started right up first pull.
This video was very helpful. After a few pauses and rewinds I got the carb pulled off cleaned and reinstalled. Pulled the cord and the mower started on the first pull. Thanks for posting this video.
Lefty 5/15/21 Thank You Hank, Watched you today and I was able to fix my TB200 Troy-Built that would start then stop. The mower had sit all winter. Found one small hole blocked, cleaned it, put it backed together and started right up. Easy video to fallow. Saved me lots of money!!
Thanks Hank! Just did my first carb rebuild. Neighbor threw out a nice self propelled mower that didn’t run. Cleaned the jets and reinstalled the welch plug that had come loose and boom! Running perfectly
Thank you much for this video and all your time and effort, just bought a used one just like this and after following all your instructions it came back to life, I wish you the very best and thank you again
PERFECT!!! Mine would not start and I AM NOT an engine repair guy. Followed this step by step and it started first pull. BTW also changed my air filter and the mower runs great - The Briggs and Stratton filter from Lowes fit it perfect.
Thanks a bunch partner. Mine wasn’t clogged in those areas (at least far as I could tell) - still tried to clean them some. Cleaned out a fair amount of dust clumps and what now, reassembled and thank God it actually works again! I’m wondering if I was too rough with it and knocked something a little loose, and when I put it back together maybe that fixed the issue. Only writing this for someone else that might be in the same shoes. - that carberator looks somewhat susceptible to getting knocked off. I’ll say no more
Many thanks for this! My mower isn't even a year old, not properly winterized, but I'm hoping this isn't necessary, and glad you have this video up in case I need to do more.
thank you, I got one brand new exactly like this one someone bought it , used it once and left it in the shed for some years (since 2012 lol)...anyways I am in the process of cleaning the carburetor..your video has been very helpful, thank you ,thank you, thank you!
Amazing fix , glad I found your video now to work on mine that I was about to take to the repair man but I think I can do this thanks a lot a new subscriber from now on greetings from Edinburg Tx
Wasn't sure why mine wouldn't start after changing spark plug and air filter. I'll clean out the carburetor and hope that helps. Thank you for the video
Holy cow that was a fantastic find. Way newer than my mower. Great fix. Those plastic carbs look like they might be easier to work on then the regular metal ones. Thanks for the video.
Thank you thank you thank you Saved me a lot of time and money. Awesome thanks. I followed the video because my mower would not start and I did what u did and it worked !!! Thanks a million. Here's alike and follow
I just found a TB360! Barley used an I assumed the same thing just tossed out cause it won't start so now I just need to find that small issue! An she should be brand new!
I have this exact lawnmower...and then an older one with the same engine also from Walmart without a bagger. Swapped plugs and filter to the old one no dice. Did the carb cleaning as shown in this video and om the second pull it started right up! Thanks so much!!!
Thank you very much, this is really helpful i followed your video step by step even.pause and rewind just to make sure i got right until the end as soon as i pulled that string 😀 😄 😊 Wow! like i said thank you😇
Tried this but still won't start. I didn't notice any white plastic donut piece in mine that you mention at 7:10 in the video. Mine will start but only rough and with the air filter holder unattached. It also will blow an oily gas mixture out the breather hose. With the air filter piece attached, it won't start.
Gday from Australia mate..Nice job starting first pull...I notice the jets are smaller in the US which must lead to to blockages galore....so lots of good mowers like this on the kerbside..really defeats the idea of machines being more efficent and wasting raw materials.
Hank, I just used a 31-9334 ignition module to fix a no spark issue with an older briggs edger, runs great now 👌. Just trying to get the kill switch part to work? I wouldn’t think kill switch would need to be modified. Even was thinking of using a metal kill tab to the plug.
If there isn’t one running off of the coil you will have to make one. Easiest way is a strip of metal under one of the head bolts so it hovers over the plug.
What is that metal wire at 2:23 after you take the top cover off because I sure did not reinstall mine that way. That could be my problem. It has the loop facing down.
I had one just like this... Needed a new blade adapter because the owner hit something. it was free spinning on the crankshaft. Cost $35. Also needed a new flywheel key. Had to buy a special briggs puller because that shroud around the flywheel doesnt allow for regular pullers. Throw some pledge on that transmission cover, will make it look like new.
@@mvehmaa Been there done that. Almost ruined a crankshaft with the hammer method. I have about 5 different pullers now so I dont have to worry about that, even gear pullers for pulleys and blade adapters.
My Troybuilt T200… stop running.. I followed ur directions and instructions it still will not crank…. It’s only 2 yrs old… any other suggestions… what size socket did u use to take out bolts on carburetor
Just what I needed. My carb jets looked pretty clean, but I squirted ‘em out anyway. I think it was probably stale gas in the carb. Started first pull!! I feel empowered hahaha 😂
just grabbed one very similar to this one TB330 off the side of the road, missing the bagger. oil looks good, gas looks good but doesnt start. gonna tinker with it in the morning and see what the issue is, i automatically assume its carb issues.
I have a brand new one and it already stalls. Explain that one to me? Has oil and gas. Ran for half of my yard and now won’t start. I have a TB210B model.
Would this be the same procedure as far as the carburetor on a Troy LBT 30? Thanks so much for showing me how to clean the carburetor. After you showed me it is now simple. Thank you so much for such an informative video. Keep up the good work bro. Neil

Yea it’s a junk design. They don’t look clogged but it won’t take much to make them quit working right.
Just wanted to say the same as so many. "You know what you're talking about". Did exactly what you did and mower works now!!!
Worked!! Watched this 2xs and did it step by step on my troybilt. Started right up and sounded brand-new. Never stuttered or anything. This after 2 weekends of it running for 30 seconds at a time. Cannot thank you enough!

Just followed this and fixed mine. Video is spot on. My gas tank wouldn't come off like that though, just slid the carb out
It worked. Thanks! You saved me from buying a new mower for my mother in law
I followed your steps to restore a "non-starting mower", even though there were some unexpected difficulties, it finally works! Thank you!

You just inspired me to try it myself. My mower has only been used 3 time and it died! I've paid someone a year now to cut my yard.
You are officially my lawns savior. THANK YOU for sharing your knowledge. Worked for me.
Oh wow, thanks,my baby girl is back working.Quick question,I now have a low idle. What do I need to do?
Followed step by step. And bam after 2 pulls working like a charm. Thus video a life saver
Wasn't sure why mine wouldn't start after changing spark plug and air filter. I'll clean out the carburetor and hope that helps.

Thank you .. I did the whole maintenance process with your video . And it’s working now . Very helpful 👍

Holy cow that was a fantastic find. Way newer than my mower. Great fix. Those plastic carbs look like they might be easier to work on then the regular metal ones. Thanks for the video.
They are easier. Somewhat. You have to be more careful with them though as it’s much easier to strip threads out of them.
Just followed your video step by step started on the first pull . Thanks
Thanks for the video! Was able to use these steps to get a troy bilt 725ex up and running again.
Great Job. Very detailed n iinfirmative
Fixed my mower in less then 30 minutes
Thanks for getting straight to the point and speaking clearly! Good advice and a good video!
Thanks for this tutorial! I saved few hundred dollars ...very helpful
My 2014 just died today after weekly use since I bought it about 5 or 6 years ago new. Going to try this.

Thanks man worked first pull after I cleaned it out!
Thanks man.. you saved me some money 💰 and time....started 1st time after cleaning up the carburetor. You deserve 👏.
Great to hear!

going to try this this weekend thanks for the INFO
Thank you very much, this is really helpful i followed your video step by step even.pause and rewind just to make sure i got right until the end as soon as i pulled that string 😀 😄 😊 Wow! like i said thank you😇
What is the hex plug on the bottom of the carburetor cup for (@8:34)? Sounds like you can turn it with an Allen wrench to drain fuel from the carb.?
yea thats all its for is draining the carburetor out.
Really good video. My machine is running again .thank you!
Tried this but still won't start. I didn't notice any white plastic donut piece in mine that you mention at 7:10 in the video. Mine will start but only rough and with the air filter holder unattached. It also will blow an oily gas mixture out the breather hose. With the air filter piece attached, it won't start.
Would it help to add an on-line fuel filter? Great video! Thank you
You can. It’s the ethanol in the gas that does this though

Thank you, this video helped me get a TB200, that was given to me, running for the first time in 3 years.
Great info! Thanks for posting this. ❤
Thank you, This was my exact problem.
Thanks for the tutorial. Do you know where to buy a recoil pull start assembly part?
Thanks brother...worked great one pull start!
The best !!!!!! Fixed it right up !
Dude, I owe you a beer! Very helpful! Thank you!
This worked for me! Thank you so much!!
I have a new spark plug, air filter and just tried to clean the carburetor but it still does not start. Help. Doug Stoliker

If there isn’t one running off of the coil you will have to make one. Easiest way is a strip of metal under one of the head bolts so it hovers over the plug.
You could use a nut driver to tighten the screws hand tight
What is that metal wire at 2:23 after you take the top cover off because I sure did not reinstall mine that way. That could be my problem. It has the loop facing down.
There is the sparkplug wire and then towards the rear on the coil there is a ground. Yea both need to be installed.
Excellent demonstration, thanks! 👍👍. Is Briggs going to plastic carbs on all their engines?
It's on all their newer OHV engines made after 2013.
It just seems like it.
I get the idea, but they are horrible.
The old stuff is great
Correct. All newer engines have these carbs. The higher end pro models have all metal carbs but they are basically a larger Honda clone.
I had one just like this... Needed a new blade adapter because the owner hit something. it was free spinning on the crankshaft. Cost $35. Also needed a new flywheel key. Had to buy a special briggs puller because that shroud around the flywheel doesnt allow for regular pullers.

Thanks. I fixed my mower.
Thanks Hank! Worked like a charm. Subscribed.
YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!!👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Glad it helped
Just what I needed. My carb jets looked pretty clean, but I squirted ‘em out anyway. I think it was probably stale gas in the carb. Started first pull!! I feel empowered hahaha 😂
It doesn’t take much. They may not look all that bad but can still be gummed up
just grabbed one very similar to this one TB330 off the side of the road, missing the bagger. oil looks good, gas looks good but doesnt start. gonna tinker with it in the morning and see what the issue is, i automatically assume its carb issues.
Must likely it is

You are so welcome!

I have a brand new one and it already stalls. Explain that one to me? Has oil and gas. Ran for half of my yard and now won’t start. I have a TB210B model.
I have a 2021 model, followed these steps and changed oil. Still no luck. Any advise is appreciated
I have one of these mowers. I used it about 4 times on the 5th time I used it, I couldn't get it to start. I had the same issue.
You just saved me a couple hundred bucks! Thanks!
I need help, new to this video, mines won't start now, I heard it's the carburetor but I don't want to mess up the insides of it
Your best bet is to do what I did in this video. What are you having a problem with
Nicely done
That’s worth $280 to $300 cdn all day long

If the engine is the same then yes it would be.
@@hanksgarage_ Thanks again. Kudos bro.
What’s the green canister on the left side?
Hook a garden hose to it and run the mower to clean out the underside
What should I do if I have gasoline in the tank? Do I drain it into a gas can?
You can do that yes 👍 take the tank off is easy on these. Just use a funnel and dump into a can
mine has a yellow filter and bulb it will start only with starter fluid
