the p1 is my favourite car of all time. but the price of 449 is absolutely outrageous and the front end looks off (headlights). other then that its a great set but I have to pass.
True. The only Mclaren probably morel likeable is IMO the 570S, but P1 is my favorite too! I even have the old, small original Speed Champions P1! I am really worried that I will have to buy it X). 10K CZK gone amimir....
The P1 is my favorite as well, but it looks kinda off to be honest and I just build the Ferrari so an orange car isn't something I want at the moment haha.
As soon as I saw the Speed Champions Camaro ZL1 and the F40, I got so excited. Even though they were made during the 6-wide era, I appreciate Lego giving them more accurate proportions with the 8-wide format. I will definitely buy them.
Especially this new F40 looks so much better than the old one! Although personally I’m not so sure about the Nascar Camaro yet, in terms of shape this new one is better of course; however I don’t really like it’s bright multi-colored “livery” . I know it makes sense, considering it’s a race car and those tend to have eye-catching color schemes IRL; but I still think I prefer the much simpler “livery” the old one has.
the F40 looks good. I don't care about the headlights personally because this model is SO much more detailed than the older one I have. what I really want though is that old Creator F40.
Honestly, I'm a little disappointed with the McLaren P1. the model is old and I think everyone expected it a bit. where Lego could have made a nice surprise is by presenting the McLaren Speedtail with a three-seat cockpit, a central steering wheel, a very thin physique and two separate spoiler that come out of the rear of the car
exactly! the prices at 3rd party retailers are still very high but when you compare it to the officail lego store it seems affordable 🤣 probably another way of their fishy selling tactics
Just buy a knockoff one, pretty good build quality and only costs like $60. And it really shouldn’t be a moral concern as Lego is a very rich and greedy company who stole the idea of their bricks in the first place.
@@mocsmore1308 I review Lego alternatives on my channel but generally avoid knock offs... I know the quality is great but it just doesn't sit right with me personally to steal designs. Plus there are already PLENTY of great original alternative builds to choose from.
The boat is probably the one I’m looking forward to the most, and not just because I’m from New Zealand. It’s something unique and looks like it has lots of functions.
The gearbox in Land Rover was simply broken design and didn't work. Fortunately, I found alternate instructions online where someone redesigned the mechanism, and that one works perfectly
To me, it really reminds me of 2010 moc the P1, that might be because the car itself is quite old, but still I think it doesn’t match the quality and finish of the other eight scale cars. And also look up a McLaren P1 moc and you will see what I’m talking about.
In a way it’s quite refreshing to have a style more similar to moc building, with less gaps and more intricate pieces. This is also seen in the g wagon
I'm definitely going for the yacht. Not only I sail myself, America's Cup is a fascinating, storied event. However I'd personally prefer some of the earlier classes of boats that used to compete in, from legendary J-class in the first half of 20th century, through long lasting 12-metre class (though both of them, I think would make more sense in Icons line) to the IACC that brought America's Cup into 21st century (that one could easily fit the Technic line).
I'm not a big yacht fan but I am a Technic fan and I also live in New Zealand so I'll definitely be getting the AC75 Emirates yacht as well as the rest of the technic range at some point.
Looking forward to all the reviews. Despite not quite being accurate really like the large scale G Wagon. The build looks so much cleaner than the previously released Land Rover. The build I felt was way more complicated than it needed to be with gearbox filling out most of the rear whereas a manual simplifies as well as allows for more interior room. The color is an interesting choice, but works well for the model. Definitely going to be saving up for this one as it's the first large scale SUV since the Land Rover.
I became interested in Lego after my son (4 1/2 yo) showed an interest in constructions and cars. We started some very basic builds with bricks, wheels etc, then slowly buying some very simple Lego cars. I was getting hooked. In Christmas, I found the excuse to buy for me (oh, yes, and my son) a Technic Audi RS Q e-tron (42160)... For some time we had a break building Legos (except that we bought many spare parts) until recently that we bought and received 3 Speed Champions sets. - 76897 Speed Champions 1985 Audi Sport Quattro S1 : Ok one except of that very strange design for the rear spoiler that the built is kind of floating.. - 60415 LEGO Police Car And Muscle Car Chase : The police car is ok, the muscle car is a joke. All the rear part is connected in few pins and some parts are really on the air... Any attempt to try to modify anything in the rear part, makes all the rear being detached. - 76924 AMG G 63 and AMG SL 63 : The reason I will never get a Speed Champions product again. The SL was ok, nothing special. The G-Class is a joke. I found the RC 42160 much easier to build than the G Class! Flimsy connections, unnecessary complicated parts, roof, fenders, window frames that detach when you just happen to lift, move the car (not trying to "play"). So, for me only basic bricks and Technics.
Personally I think the P1 looks great, I dont understand why the comments are so negative. The proportions looks really nice, mostly the back of the car, and how the spoiler scoop is shaped. Yes the headlights look a bit big, but hey its Lego, and they got the Mclaren arrow really good. And the price tag, its comparable to the other 1:8 cars. I also prefer the P1 to other more recent cars. Its iconic and legendary! Yes the F1 is even more iconic, but I think it would look boring in lego form. I'm very excited for it!
For such an expensive set Im expecting it to look like a real car, the headlights are taken straight up from corvette C8 and look nothing like the ones in P1 and that is what ruins the whole face of the car for me. Also dont say that legos have limitations etc. bc you can find many fan made p1s or even official sets from other manufactures that made the front just right
@@kubami5543 I've looked at p1's from alternate brands, and in my opinion the shapes dont look as well defined as the lego, and I dont think their headlights look better. I was writing about the headlights bc thats what ruins it and other brands made them better. If you think they dont look as good as the lego ones, then you clearly dont know how they are supposed to look like
I can’t lie the way the P1 is shaped, makes me not really like it but the G-wagon I actually like very much it’s interesting and hopefully I get to build it

Really wish they went with the Jesko Attack instead of just recoloring the Absolute. I guess they couldn't find a way to incorporate the wing without compromising the rest of the existing design.
well the attack looks quite a bit different than the absolute. Besides the wing there is the giant air dam in the hood and especially the rear is a lot rounder and shorter looking. Probably not doing it justice by just slapping a wing on. But im sure some people are going to figure out how to add the wing yourself.
