Personally I really don’t care for (real) pilot mini figs and I liked the reasoning they gave but I have to wonder how much of it is the real determining factor and how much of it is actually just Lego taking the safest route. In general Lego rarely ever makes mini figs of real people which besides saving them on image rights and bureaucracy also makes it safer for Lego if the real people ever get themselves in controversy.

Good news about wider rear tyres for the Lego Icon’s Williams, it’s the one that most interests me, and rectifies the biggest issue associated with the Icon’s Senna Mclaren. I really like the Nigel Mansell figure, a nice touch - thank you for the update!
I’m 100% cool with the explanation for not having named drivers. I feel like 99% of the time Lego has an extremely reasonable explanation for the decisions they make, but I also feel like they don’t owe us an explanation in each instance
There is a ban on energy drink advertising in Denmark (EA couldn't release EA Sports MMA in the country because of this) and presumably giving these cars the 18+ rating is enough to satisfy the appropriate regulators in this case.
