hello
I like to watch these pretending i have money for them 😭
i don't think they are all worth it, after you buy some of them thet are kinda all the same
@@heheshshdbsjshjswkqfithey are not worth it, max 1/4 like in west EU or US.
same i watch all his reviews knowing i will not buy them
Aliexpress the goat, got the new W14 set for $20 lol
@@djandergaming is quality good?
Having the exposed pin holes and lack of panel pieces makes this feel like a classic technic set in a really cool way. A really smart candidate for a Lego set and looks to be executed well
That's a great point, it feels like the technic sets of old in a way. Definitely going to be keeping an eye open for a good sale on this one!
Couldn´t have said it better!
This is the BEST Lego Technic set for 2024. It maintains the historical roots of what is the essence of Technic.
yeah! A real masterpiece :)
If the essence of Lego is to look like cheap China crap nowadays then yes. If you buy such a car it has to look good to display and Defender is much better for that.
I agree too but the new McLaren p1 ucs just dropped so this is second now
I think that they did an absolutely brilliant job in using brick-built details rather than stickers or new panels! It may not look as neat as other sets, but there is a charm to seeing all of the angles created by clever solutions from existing pieces.
The best looking Technic from this year's lineup. But from the innovativity perspective I think the best one is the Mars Rover. 😊
i really love the VTOL Heavy cargo spaceship. fun build for a big spaceship with cool functions (and it is relatively cheap for the amount of stuff you get)
Both major technic sets are orange LOL. Why didn't they make the P1 black instead? Especially since there is already an orange 1:8 car. Obviously the dream would have been the McLaren F1 in silver, but the P1 is also very cool, I just think a different color would have been nicer. Or make this G-wagen black or silver.
Lego is cooking with gearboxes this year and i love it 🔥
Unfortunately there is no gearbox in this set
@@ilyavershalovich7578 the gearbox in defender was pain in the ass so i don't think it's a downgrade at all considering thay added new diffs with locking
The defender looks better even though it is older. Nice set btw.
nah
The Defender looks nothing like the IRL car, on the other hand, the G 500 is very accurate.
@@DodgerFloof not my opinion, I see the front of the defender quite accurate, for example. My only complain for the g500 are the holes in its body
@@victorgracia5703 Then maybe don't get a technic set? Also I don't even know what holes you're talking about...
@@DodgerFloof the defender proves you can make a technic without so many holes. Look at the doors or the hood.
I went through almost 20 years without missing/wrong parts. Now I'm seeing it in 1/10 sets I purchase. The pricing is going up while the quality control is going down.
Nice addition to my Defender collection as "The Dark Side"
My favourite set from this vave
fr
Same
I think that the back seat is able to fold down so you can put the engine cover in there
Have to say, even though there are mote tapes to cut, I really like LEGO for going for a more practical way of making their boxes. usually it's opening the side and throwing all the bags out, you now have a clean way top open the box and inspect the content without making a mess.
I don’t always watch your videos because I want to buy the set, sometimes, your videos are just an AWESOME source of entertainment!!! Keep up the EXCELLENT work!!!
This is a really solid base for modding - I think many will buy it for that purpose. If I bought it, I'd definitely use the space at the back for a pneumatic tank, then enhance some functions with pneumatic control (ie sunroof, hood, rear diff lock) - it is large enough to have the cylinders and cables hidden nicely.
I finished this set myself, got a discount from Amazon.
Mine was the old style box with plastic bags, no missing parts.
I think this will have to go next to one of my favorite Technic sets, the 8110 Mercedes Unimog.
cost of living is fundamentally expensive, but this set is honestly so well priced.
This looks like its more fun to have laying around once its built compared to other Technic sports car sets.
This looks so satisfying to complete and play around with it.
wow! The ackerman steering geometry is back again! I remember that maybe the last time we see it was on 42082? This set is really a masterpiece😃
Looks like an interesting build with lots of functionality. I really like the color. I'd like to see someone turn it into a '90s Jeep Cherokee or something other than a Benz lol
I stil like to get my 42110 Defender out although after a couple of years it is even harder to move the cars with one of the lower gears engaged as the friction has increased with dust and standing still on the shelf. Not so sure about the Mercedes, though. I don´t appreciate the clustered surfaces around the doors and all the technic holes at the roof and the wheelarches. I know the extensive use of system parts has been reason for discussion, but I like the smooth and sophisticated look of the Defender.
Thanks for the heads up on the wrong part and mistake in the instructions. It’s a cool build, but the color is a bit loud. My granddaughter would like the color. You do a great video, I really enjoy them.
I think, my opinion this is exactly why I like Lego technic. It looks amazing and offers so many functions. So this Mercedes G wagon looks absolutely great, I really should get it.
Then there is the stickers problem. I have hard time putting on stickers sometimes and Lego honestly just needs to do printed instead of stickers like everywhere that requires a sticker should be printed.
Thank you for the review racingbrick!
use tweezers
4:38 - Don't know how it works in real mercedes, but some transfer cases have neutral position, especially mechanically operated ones. They often don't have synchronisers like the main gearbox and require vehicle to be stopped or rolled at very very low speed (so neutral in between hi and low helps to make the change smoother). Also, vehicle can be towed when transfer case is set to neutral, even with automatic main gearbox. At least thats how it all works in my wrangler and a few 4WDs i had a chance to use offroad.
Great review, as always.
Love the set and its features. Brickbuilt wheel arches are a +. But the colour hurts my eyes and makes me teary... Besides that adding a new colour to technic makes reuse of these parts VERY hard.
Fun fact- As much as I know, despite being probably the only one so far, Milan Reindl, designer of this set, is from Czechia 🇨🇿 ❤. Greetings from CZ! ;)
12:30 Your Defender's suspension had get softer under the weight.
it will happen the same with this G Class.
Honey WAKE UP RACINGBRICK UPLOADED
Looks like quite an intense set. Nice to see something this well packed.
Love all the sets from my fellow czech guy Reindl!
Very good set and review, thank you
Very cool build, I will consider buying it, especially since it's build by a Czech, and the orange? I LOVE IT! 🧡🖤
Such a good set, finally one that is actually built well, looks accurate, and has working functions. Just one issue. They could've chosen a rally car, a crawler, a racecar, anything.. Nope, we get the fridge with wheels
I’m so excited!
I was hoping that rear differential lock would've had an assembly to move the controls into the cabin, but no... Was hoping I could steal some building techniques from Lego :P
From seeing this video, I still prefer the Defender.
Would have loved to see it in blu but still looks sexy as the defender
Really excited to build this one. Though I'm sure it does have its challenging sections I can really appreciate mow much more streamlined yet still functional the gearbox is. A definite improvement over the Defender. Color wouldn't be my first choice, but it's a nice deviation from the olive green of the Defender, Shaping also looks a lot cleaner using mostly technic pieces whereas a lot of system went into the final details of the Land Rover. A worthy successor for sure.
Just purchased mine, can't wait to build it when it comes hopefully by Tuesday. To any Uk lego fans you can get this set for a pretty nice deal currently at game for £147 along with a lot of this months releases for cheaper than retail prices in other shops. The only caveat is you need to sign up for their frasers plus app but you can pay it in full immediately.
Finally. And thanks again for a nice review.
My pleasure! And thank you for the great design! :)
This is a great way to introduce that new orange in many many new pieces I love it. I hope the price drops so I don't feel as bad if I buy it lol.
My jeep has a high low selector as well as a gear selector, so the fact that there are two neutrals technically isn’t impossible, as I can select neutral up at the wheel, but also at the transfer case that selects 2wd or 4wd high and low.
I think if this gets RC Modified with a buwizz motor it will be unstoppable in quite a lot of terrains
Firstly Yeti FTW! As I’m driving one myself too.
Secondly this set is a damn good candidate for proper motorisation. It has a good suspension, steering and diff locks. And a lot of space inside.
Who would like to watch this badass g-wagon on some rough terrain? 🎉
It lookks like Bronco in this color.
The fact that there is 5 wheels want me to get one more just to have equal amount of new tires.
Diff lock control would be cool if it would be operated by flex cables from 90s sets.
Aslo if there is hog steering on the roof would be fun to have whole control panel of all functions on the roof too.
Defender would looked cooler with 5 doors version.
I prefer the land rover though I am curious whether the new tyres fit on the land rover or is there not enough space in the wheel arch
Lego writes: "Admire the details - Open the doors to view the interior then explore accessories like the ladder, spare wheel and roof rack, plus the opening tailgate and hood." Did you explore the ladder, spare wheel and roof rack? At $/€ 250, you should 🤪!
11:03 Bro has Škoda Yeti?!
Knows whats good! 😉
Finally a correct steering geometry!
I might have to get myself some of the G Wagon's tyres for my Defender. Hopefully they'll fit 😂
Yooooo racing brick uploaded
Appa
Yes a review from the set im getting soon
I have 0 desire to ever buy this as I'm not one for 4x4s or mercedes, watching purely for the quality of your videos
Dead chuffed with this set it's perfect, will be buying :)
Can’t wait till august.
Finally a good tire for a unimog build ❤
Having the ford raptor already in a kinda orange color, i would have loved a different one for this longwaited masterpiece 🤷♂️
Overall a good looking set.
But I wish the wheel arches where better. The rear wheel arch should be orange to match the real car.
And they should be more square rather than those large slopes.
i finally can try to do a moc on a vw t3 with this set, nice
I'm waiting a bit to see what the rebrickable designers can do with it. It it is anything like the Defender with its gazillion different rebuilds, it is getting in for sure.
Imo this G class is to the Defender as the Bugatti was to the Porsche - a worthy, well improved successor :D It's a lovely set, I can't wait to pick it up
I wish Lego would do another inexpensive sports utility like when they did the Jeep Rubicon.
Thank you for the in-depth review! I am planning to buy this set in the future. I just hope LEGO releases the new #7 connector in more colors soon. I have some color customization ideas.
Nice building and preview! Keep it up!
That is a very nice set, I would absolutely buy that.
All offroad cars with a manual high low shifter has a neutral position, so this is very realistic.
As a defender owner, the g500 looks like a better option to me. It might not have the gearbox but the new gears used in transmission would be very useful, also the colour is a lit better
Please do the heavy machinery truck next! I’m dying to see it
Does it have enough space to add a 4-speed gearbox and keep the mechanism of locking deferentials? I think the gearbox is one of the main reasons why people liked so much Defender.
true
11:02 prettymuch every car has foldable rear seats for trunk expansion. XD
Its one of the best looking technic set ❤. Love your content. I cant find the link to but the model.
a very nice presentation and a great model. I wish Lego had installed the new differentials. Apparently these fit. So it has a bit of an aftertaste that the company is using up its remaining stocks. Personally I would replace the gray soft front dampers with black ones. I like the seats in the Defender's interior better from a purely aesthetic point of view.
Color is perfect
*_Finally a comparison.._*
Nice video! But it needs to be Mercedes Silver and have the three locking differentials. 😏 And the Land Rover Defender looks way better in 110 configuration.
yay i was waiting for this! as always great vid racingbrick!
very interesting video and cool set
Looks NICE!
My man summoned the whole Czech community in a single video ☠️
Finally!!!!
7:00 what a cool fact
저는 비록 조립을 잘못했지만 디펜더도 상당히 멋진 작품이었습니다 벌써 5년 전이라니 놀랍네요
Man I hate that they chose orange for the g wagon, one of my favorite vehicles and my most hated color. So much to where I wont buy it (sad face) great build though
Milan will be happy they spelled his name correctly this time!
I have No money to buy, still watching 😂
Love this color need this to go on discount asap
I love the review im prob gonna get it probably and you know its a good day when belaz posts and can't wait for the volvo excavator set review!
Thanks for the review :) Is there enough room inside to install a PowerUp Hub and motor? I want to build and control this using the app.
この時をとても楽しみにしていました!!動画を公開していただきありがとうございます!!!
I think a 4-speed gearbox is still possible in a model like this but with a stick shifter instead of a convoluted rotational shifter.
Mine did not have paper bags or a box that opened a different way, very interesting
Fantastic❤
YEAHHHHHHHH
Nice review as always! How easy do you think it would be to motorized this set?
Looks better than the Defender 👌🏽
I like the defender more but, they look very similar
Nope
I wasn't interested in it, the color, or the G500 as a whole really, but I cannot deny the appealing amount of functions in that set that don't seem to clash with one another and just work...
May actually pick it up...
When the sperd champ vids
LEGO model looks more like the older model. But still better than speed champions version.
Now, Finally Lego came out with an actual "Technic" Set. It's it's probably well over 250$ so that's a downfall. But I did get the land rover defender and loved it. Great review man!
The price is in the video btw :)
@@RacingBrick thanks I saw or.
Have to say This model overall looks very stunning.
But For for this price range of 250 USD I would expect more printed elements and less stickers
Like in the concord that doesn't have any stickers at all everything is printed and the concord cost 50 dollars less the the g500
A bit disappointing but it's not a dealbreaker for me.
