Excellent video as always. Recently I seen so many new Lego releases from LOTR, Star Wars, Speed Champions a new video game and even flowers. I get emails from Lego weekly about what's new every week now still no sign of the next Technic 1:8 supercar surely you must know something. Give us some news man what's going on with the next car it's been 2 years.
There is a rebrickable of the Porsche 911. You can turn it into a white countach that looks identically to this countach. I’m worried it’s damn near the same kit.
so idk if its just me but ive quickly noticed that the taillights seem way too large, correct me if im wrong but they should be a decently smaller than their current state
Why does the speedchampion look somewhat more accurate than the much bigger brother? The rear lights have a more accurate scale on the SC. The front of the SC has more of the original lines with the very front of the front being slightly narrower and most interestingly I think the proportions of the SC are closer to the real one??? But that could be due to not seeing the new model in person. Plus the lights are more or less the same on both models building technique wise which is crazy with the difference in scale On the SC we even got a sticker for the pop up lights which is missing completely on the new model
The SC would be better if the windscreen was printed twice. Honestly all those Creator models look a bit meh for me compaired to alternatives from CADA, MK, or other distributors.
Please make a comparison between the countach built using the porche 911 set. I’d love to see wether I should buy the official set or keep the one I’ve already built😂
As a Lambo fan I'm very disappointed with this set. How can a moccer with limited pieces (the one based on the 911) recreate 95% of the spirit of the Countach while a licensed designer butchers it makin the model literally a door stopper ? The dually tires are kind of ok but the overall shape is a big no for me. The pop-up headlights might be possible in a later moc but the rear trunk and some details are gone forever. The decision not to make a 400 version (the so called "Periscopio") is another downside of this project as historically that version is much more elegant, rare and valuable. At least they didn't give us the revolting USDM version with those ugly bumpers! Epic review as usual, keep 'em coming, cheers from Italy!
All of these people were hating on it at once and now commenting positive … I actually knew that wide wheels would make the car look better since ur first video
I like the majority of it, however the front end especially the line from the roof to the front bumper is just wrong. It messes with the silhouette. Also no pop up headlights is a miss. Otherwise the car is pretty well done.
Yeah, I’ve done the Porsche Tagra alt build of the Lambo Countach. TBH whilst the official set has some nicer features including the windshield, I’m happy enough with the Alt/MOC version of the Tagra that I can’t see the point in getting this set!
I still have my old corvette, from 25 or so years ago, you actually build out an engine that would move with the tires. It also had an option to either make it as a convertible or (oddly) with gull wing doors, both using the hydraulic shocks so that they worked automatically. Now they just simulate what the engine would look like.
oh man a black one would be great. Can someone check the parts list to see if all the bodywork parts are available in black (accepting custom stickers would be needed)?
Please do a comparison with Rastacoco’s Countach MOC on Rebrickable, that’s the Countach I plan to build IRL instead of the official set since it’s so much more accurate!
i saw he had a black version as well i may get that one plus one of the brick sellers has 99% of the parts for it at half the cost of the official lego version cause $180 is to much to afford currently
@@ajflament8012 Yes. If, like me, you're making the white version to upgrade from Firas' Countach B-Model you have a great percentage of the parts needed too. The windshield's expensive, so just buy the entire Turbo Track Racer set and you'll also have even more pieces for the MOC plus the windshield.
I just finished building mine. Honestly love the techniques used and since I'm not as harsh with comparing to the real thing, I gotta say I love it. Interesting note: my box opens the normal way and I had plastic bags
All prints protected windows and the red hue on the black box and not any random colored pieces . All improvements on common review complaints so Lego definitely is listening and doing what we ask and I love that cause I was so bummed about the scratched window and tiles on my z28 Camaro that sets got me back into legos but every problem I had with Camaro was fixed with corvette and I love it, can’t wait to get the lambo!!!
I have three main complaints, the wing should have smooth elements on top, the orange indicators should be more visible in the front light housing (tilted up maybe?) and overall the front looks a little too flat/shallow in comparison to the back, it’s not terrible but could be better imo, great video!
Another great video! Disappointed that the pop up headlights weren't able to be replicated but looking forward to the modifications by someone to allow this. Would have been nice to get it in black as you mention.
I dare to say, there are two miss steps in this release. First is not releasing it in the iconic Lamborghini yellow. Second is just a single variant of the car, it would be so much cooler if you could build it either as 5000 QV or the original variant, LP400, without fender flares and the rear wing, the same way you can have the Porsche as either the Targa or the Turbo. I know I'm in no way a metric for things like that but the lack of narrow body version quite possibly lost them a customer for this set.
I must agree on the colour. The white would have better fitted james bond's Wet Nellie Lotus Esprit S1. Imagine having it in lego, convertible into the submarine!
@@emanuelebulfon1595 I'm quite sure that the LP400s were offered in yellow. Anyway, black or even red would've been much better option than white. White LEGO have terrible color consistency and, they yellow easily, they sometimes get weird black smudging on them and, in case of this set, it is unnecessary color repeat with the Porsche 911 from few years back. IMO white was the worst color they could've picked. I'd even prefer gray.
First, and also I think that, personally, this is one of the best Lego Icons car sets that Lego has ever made. I say this because I love the overall look, the clever building techniques, and just Lamborghini in general. Will definitely buy this set, thanks for another amazing review!
Since they already did a Speed Champions 5000QV (and in white and with red interior), it would have been nice to do my personal favorite, the 25th Anniversary model. You know, for a change. And they should have done the wheels in white.
I have every Lego creator expert and icon car. I cannot wait to get this. It looks just as nice as all the rest. I graduated from high school in 1985 so I have fond memories of this car.
I would have liked this in yellow or black and the hint of a black model with gold rims has me drooling but all that being said, I love the way this turned out. I’m sure some crazy patient person will wait for all the exterior pieces to come in the color they like to swap out at some point in the future.
Can't wait to see the next one ! Hoping you will be able to compare this model, to one of the best one set moc : The countach based on the Porsche 911 turbo from FIRAS ;-) cheers from france ;-)
Awaiting a revision to the mocs to take the best of everything and make a more accurate representation. Some parts I prefer on this, others I don't. And yes, a black and gold version would've been awesome
I too would have preferred a different colour but it is what is, I will probably paint the rims myself because this is my favourite childhood car, a must buy for me
I would like to see a better side on picture, showing the angle of the bonnet that line up with the windscreen. From the angles we see, there seems to be a glaring 'flat spot' above the front wheel, where it removes from the esthetics considerably.
Good video. I think the front is way too short, it bothers me a lot. And I wish it was red, like sideswipe! You didn't say why they didn't choose red though.
Still mixed feelings.....a lot of it is good and it uses some nice building techniques for all of the angles. But some bits look a bit crude, and the rrear fenders look WAY off. Looking forward to the second video!
The rear wing Lego instruction manual page is not a mistake as the Rear Quarter Panel is referred to as the Rear Wing in the UK (idk where but it is somehwere in Europe)
11:25 it's personally even more dissapointing knowing that i have made a vector w8 with pop down headlights out of the speed champions countach set, i had less space, less pieces to work with and I managed to make it hold up really well, so to see this huge set having it left out is just unfortunate
1:34 the box style was the same for the Tuxedo cat that reviewers got, but the retail version was the standard box. I'll be interested to see if this new box style actually makes it to retail.
Great Video. Can't wait to see Part 2. The Red will always be Autobot Sideswipe. The White always reminds me of the 80s Miami Vice, something Crockett drove... But the Black? Wow. That would have been magnificent.
A great overview Balazs, and I agree about the black/gold option. That said, having watched your build/review I would really like to buy the Countach set, especially after you compared it to other cars in the Icons range.
Hm. The cleft between front lights and the hood really bugs me. Yet, I feel like it would be less noticeable in black... and gold rims... I mean... obviously, that would've been a plus and a cool reference to the Sian. Cool model though.
Comparing the proportions and details of this Countach with mocs from Firas, Zeto and Rastacoco would surely be appreciated, however, I have yet to see a single comment asking you to compare it to the Countach from Jerac. His instructions are not on Rebrickable but on Brickvault. In my opinion, he has captured the most realistic Countach in lego out there.
I wish they had of done it in black that way i could have modified it to look like it did on "The Cannonball Run" also would LOVE to have this in the larger technic scale! that and the McLaren F1 LM!!!
There is a rebrickable of the 911 where you can make a white countach that looks almost identical to this one. Is it close to the same kit? Or are there a decent amount of differences? I hope they arnt to similar.
I think this a great build! Much better than the Corvette from last year. It'll go great next to me Camaro (might have to swap the racing stripes to white on that one)
8:26 - FYI, 'Wing' is actually an alternative name to fender, mudguard or wheel arch. That thing on the rear is actually called a Spoiler!🙄 Also (2:40), I would leave out that yellow axle so that both rear wheels turn independently and allow the model to turn more easily!
You’re right on the Fender/Wing part, but incorrect about the rest. The term “Spoiler” is used for ones that deflect air only over the top (like a duckbill or lip), while “Wings” have air passing over and under! 😊
I absolutely love the car (child of the 80's here) and your review was great! Can't wait to see the comparisons to MOCs and your overall thoughts on it, but I'm definitely needing this in my collection. How does it scale with the Mustang?
I like this set a good bit and will probably buy it but there are a few problems that I feel like Lego shoulda noticed. 1-this should have easily been added and it is the pop up headlights. These headlights make them took too Countach special for me, and for it to not be there is kinda a bummer 2- This isn’t that serious but it should be be a lil curved on the sides at the front 3- The maroon part on the rear lights make them appear too big Absolutely no hate on this set, there are still good things about it but I feel like Lego should have looked more into it
please do a 1on1 comparison with the firas legocars one in the next vdeo :) Love to see them side by side. Firas IMO got the dimensions and angles better than Lego. Especially the low roof line and flat front trunk to windshield transititon.
If it was a MOC the rear wheels would have been a great work around but as a LEGO production set it’s sucks. As they say if it’s worth doing do it right rather than bodge it.
i kinda hoped this car would come in a different colour like yellow or blue, since it feels a bit like more of the same with the white with red interior. (EDIT Black with gold rims would have definitely made me put this on instant buy list instead of "maybe".) the Countach is a definite legend of super car history though, and this larger scale model is mostly great.
Yellow would have been my color of choice. The white would be second, the only reason I prefer yellow is because of the 911 also being white. Red and black would have been obvious choices but red is more a Ferrari color, I don't really like it on other cars except for fire trucks. And black hides a lot of detail. Lime or orange would have been awesome but those are more accurate for an LP400 version without the wide fenders. Love the wheel and tire solution. 4 of the same wheels makes that part a much better option for MOCs. The only thing that really stops me from loving this set is the tail lights that look much too large.
If it had been black with gold rims then that the QV would have been top of my list. But because of it being in white I'll just wait for the rumoured Icons '60s Batmobile.
i think the taillights red areas look way too large compared to the actual car and ruined the overall look and proportion. Really a shame that they couldnt get that part right. I recently got a MOC 25th anniv Countach. The set is very well designed and quite perfectly nailed the extra details on the 25th anniv version, mostly the body kit part. Though there is no steering, movable engine bay cover and frunk. Thee lego set has more "professional" building techniques for sure, but thats a standard for a Lego set. Pricing is much lower though as it is not official. Perhaps you can have a set of that and do a comparison between the two

Yea I noticed that too especially when I looked up images of the real car they aren’t that big in comparison
The whole car has wrong proportions
They are a big large but not so big that it is very easily noticeable
yep agreed, it's also way too boxy and the fenders are all wrong.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing the first time I saw it
The black one would have been cool. Maybe they will release that in the future
Chances are bigger some alt brick company will do it, lol
We had Creator set recolors, Expert set recolors, Technic as well... it might be time for Icons as well

Should have been red, you can basically build this same countach with the parts from the 911

clean build. Will def be in my collection.
If it was a MOC the rear wheels would have been a great work around but as a LEGO production set it’s sucks. As they say if it’s worth doing do it right rather than bodge it.
The problem with LEGO white pieces is that there are many different hue in the color, so some parts look a little on the yellowish tone
Idk, i would prefer seeing BMW M1 in this scale. Would be different, since we already have Countach in Speed Champions.
I cannot wait for this I loved the other Icons cars I have built (mustang fastback, camaro Z28, Corvette convertable, delorean)
Offroad Tires, yehaaa 😂
We really should have gotten the black version because the black one is an iconic movie car from the cannonball movie
i kinda hoped this car would come in a different colour like yellow or blue, since it feels a bit like more of the same with the white with red interior. (EDIT Black with gold rims would have definitely made me put this on instant buy list instead of "maybe".)
the Countach is a definite legend of super car history though, and this larger scale model is mostly great.
On another note, will you be reviewing the new Bumblebee Transformers set?
It would be so amazing if they made the testarossa next. The complete iconic 80s duo *chefs kiss
