Best band ever, I still don't get bored of listening to the music to this day, so many styles and influences that created something new in their image.
Evidently Jimmy comes to RUclips quite frequently. A few days ago on Jimmy's website he posted a film clip from a day in 1966 (I think) when the Yardbirds appeared on the Milton Berle Show. Jimmy said he had researched it on RUclips and apologized for the condition of the clip. It made me wonder if, while he was researching, he happened to visit any of our many channels devoted to him. I would welcome him to my humble channel ANY time. I've loved him longer than any of his 'real' wives! :)
Today on Jimmy Page's "On this day" website feature he mentions this event and that he "...attended the event, as did members of the Bonham family, but the other two members had declined." Does anyone know why John Paul Jones and Robert Plant declined to attend the event? Thanks.
The UK critics weren’t so nice to them, especially the early days. Maybe Plant and Jones didn’t forget. But you know Page had to go. LZ was his baby/legacy.
The short lived U.K music hall of fame. I don’t know why they needed their own. The American one covers all English-speaking rock acts and all the top British bands are already in there. Just another celebrity night out I suppose. Good for the National ego.
But Ahmet's health was going downhill fast at that time, Peter had died over a decade earlier. So hopefully people can see that Page wasn't in any way slighting Grant, it was just that Ahmet's condition was weighing so very heavily on people's minds--very sadly, Ahmet died about a month later.
Some of those younger groups that the camera would show in the audience had a look of like who gives a shit. Honestly, that's all I can really say about todays music.
