Also, ignoring the RPM, they are about equal at base and with the chest. However, Heartbreaker only requires 100 stacks with its chest and Striker requires 200. To outperform Heartbreaker chest+Vigilance, we need to use GC+Obliterate/PUF, Obliterate+PUF, or PGC+Vigilance/PUF, for example. In other words, Heartbreaker is easier to use but still worse than Striker, which now requires the use of GC, PE, or intimidate if you don't want to get 200 stacks. Also, if you have a tanky Striker, intimidate+memento is a great option. Lastly, you can't really go wrong with any of these setups: they're all easily capable of clearing the hardest content. Regardless if you switch to HB or try one of the Striker setups above-odds are, you're going to be doing more damage than you currently do, both on average & peak.
It’s good to see someone pointing out how small of an impact the nerfs will have in terms of affecting gameplay. There are SO many positive changes coming in this update, I wish folks would focus on something other than complaining.
@@djtickle will see, while it seems small on paper might not be as small in reality, with bullet sponges, extra reload is a bad. Buff the other gear leave the one it's there intact especially in PVE
I understand people who are upset, and to those who argue that they should’ve just buffed the weaker things without nerfing the prominent items, I agree on a moral level, but I don’t find it to be an actually effective method. Why would most people care that the devs buffed a shitty item by 50% if I can just keep using my normal full red striker? Regardless, I myself am quite disappointed. What baffles me the most is the ouroboros nerf, as it was such a good yet balanced weapon, it needed 0 nerfs at all. To be honest, though, this striker nerf won’t actually affect me in most situations. I’ve been running a 6 blue striker with striker chest and memento backpack, and from what I understand the nerf is only specific to the striker backpack, so there’s that Edit: after watching the footage, it looks like the striker nerf wasn’t egregiously bad. It’s still very much good. I’m just gutted about the ouroboros and St Elmo’s nerfs, they didn’t deserve them. Though I guess I can see the Elmo’s nerf? They want to promote the new exotic AR, which does sound very promising
They just need to make the base buffs the backpack %(except armor regen) and make the armor regen per bullet instead of per second and that would make it a lot better. Then they could combine the 2&3 bonus as the 2 and maybe add something like dtoc bonus as the 3 bonus. I don’t think any of that would make the set op or even as good as strikers
theres other weapons & mods they changed as well..Shield Splinter; Oroboros and Scorpion which looks to be major changes…in real world context the 10 rounds missing frm the St Elmos will be felt….there also are mods that changed for the worse…CC and CD have taken significant hits
There are many variables that can be calculated to measure loss/gain. I can take down a heavy on Heroic at short, med and long range with one clip no stacks needed with the Elmo. That's my base measurement. We will see how the mods affect that as the only item in the build getting nerfed is the Elmo. The sum of all the nerfs on the Elmo alone might be enough to make a difference in that measurement. But I think the mods might make that determination a challenge. Meaning not so cut and dry. We will see.🤷♂️
But you do notice it in the field. Purples are now two magazines and elites three instead of one. St elmos, oreo, scorpio all now under perform especially in legendary. The build i was using to solo legendary up to two minutes before shutdown is now useless, does fuck all damage and die instantly. The modifier turned on makes my armour 100% gone every engagement. Every time even while in cover two rooms back where it's impossible to have taken damage.
forget Striker! why the fcuk are they nerfing the Obliterate ?! Why??! it took them Years to fix/change the stupid 5-second timer to 10-second, so you can actually can use the damn buff you build up... that lasted like 6 months! now they're nerfing the talent buff by 33% ?! from %25 to %17?! why?! seriously, why?! I'm simply retiring Obliterate all together if this is not reversed by the time updates arrive.
Wonder if there’s going to be an in game explanation- maybe audio or cut scene based to explain the sudden ISAC upgrade? Aside from that though - if we’re aligning with keener - when will we get access to the hacker pulse🤷♂️
With the latest news they just made it easier for me to continue shelfing the game and playing other games since i wont be missing much and dont want to feel nerfed on my main character that i been playing farming snd upgrading since day 1. Easy pass for me. Devs team are clueless and dont care about the community that supported them
They tried to pull everything in line. Just shows how strong the stuff they nerfed was. Obliterate was a bit excessive, but what other chest talent were people using aside from intimidate? Glass rarely with experienced players. I can say some are definitely disappointing, but understandable from a unbiased perspective.
I don’t think anything was “out of line”. I don’t see any evidence to prove that the debuffed gear was causing any damage to the game. And if it was, how is it being measured? The number of players leaving Div2 vs joining AND revenue generated seem to be the metrics that matter.
@@SCarter02767you state this like a fact yet I know it is not a fact. I used at least 10 other choices of loadout in regular rotation. I don’t understand why other people did not. That’s on them
The Scorpio nerf is even more idiotic too. Tons of shots just to take advantage of what's it is meant to do. It went from top to bottom of the barrel for sure
I didn't have any real problems with Striker or Hunter's Fury but my Hotshot build with a Determined SR1 is hurt. One headshot is not always enough to kill a purple enemy on challenging. I have to get Chainkiller wound up before I can go on a kill streak. I'm using Ninja bag, Airaldi gloves, Chainkiller chest and Hotshot. All headshot and weapon handling with all max headshot damage mods. All pieces are max stats with the SR1 at expertise 26 with headshot damage and damage to targets out of cover. I went from 26M headshots to 19M-20M. The 19M is not enough. The build hovers on the edge of maybe kill, maybe not. Gonna need some tweaks. Modifiers deactivated btw. Way too annoying with a Determined headshot build.
I haven’t run hotshot in a while so I may be wrong, but if I’m remembering correctly, every purple enemy without a helmet was a one-shot headshot with no stacks on heroic. Even if I am misremembering and purple enemies weren’t a one-hit kill, I think your build may be off. Take out the ninja bike backpack as it’s seriously holding you back from getting a much higher headshot damage. Use a Providence Backpack with vigilance and headshot damage, if you have it. As for the chest piece, I don’t remember what the bonus for the hotshot chest was, but I was running a high end chest piece (probably a Airaldi Holdings but I don’t really remember) with a heavy focus on headshot damage. I suggest you try switching a few things around
@@sinner2133 No need to switch right now. I hit 26,000,000 headshots and one shot elite bosses on heroic. It's only broken in the PTS. Over the years from Div 1 and Div 2, they've altered striker, and now they've finally royally f__ked striker. Striker use to have a healing mechanism, and your turret will gain stacks. Nerfing the St Elmo's doesn't make any sense whatsoever because it's the most balanced AR in the damn game. It's not overpowered and built perfectly for most people. They got something right and are choosing to make it wrong. The Oraboras(I know I spelled that wrong) is also nerfed to the point that it will be useless. They nerfed the main attribute that makes this gun worth using and that's the RPM. It's basically gonna be less effective than a vector. The vector that got the buff will be a better option. Instead of nerfing things that don't need to be bothered in anyway, how about figuring out the delta issues. Some of these changes are dumb in my opinion.
I don't understand the strikers nerf, considering they buffed it to compete with heartbreaker sone time ago. Now they buff heartbreaker and nerf striker. Just...why ubi/massive?
@@Clyde44 like someone else said, “then what’s the point? You could have just left it the way it is.” Nothing was broken. Yet lots of actually broken things in the game remain unfixed. In what, 5+ years?
@@aaronsinspirationdaily4896 Well ask the dev's but it appears they see them like a mini GE that is going on all the time at the choice of the agent. So if that is so, to make the game more enjoyable i presume. What they can't do (it seems) is give us the base power we already have and then give us these modifiers in addition as it would make the game far too easy. They did say numerous times that these nerfs are for balancing purposes. So it must be necessary to offset the modifiers. I get what you are saying but that is a question for the devs ultimately as we can only guess. Change gear (nerf/buff etc) or give us modifiers. They always have nerfed and buffed stuff but it seems the driver here is the modifiers. Remember, the original plan for this season was seasonal characters. They basically said they were doing it to create a level playing field. It was new player based - so they didnt feel underpowered. Whether its good/bad is down to individual opinion and it isn't helping that gear in the PTS isn't actually setup right either giving false data. How it will work in the real game? Who knows fella. My question is more did the game need these changes? I am not sure but it doesnt matter what I think, they are doing it so will give it a go and make up my mind on it then.
This test means nothing if you don't use the npc's, which I heard got buffed as well. What about my true patriot huh why didn't that get a buff that means it can't compete in this next seasons update. People will play this game juat to test it out themselves, and once they see it's trash they will leave and never come back again. Count me out the first descendant knows how to do update and cares about there players opinion.
Npcs only got buffs in the new modifiers. But then we also got a bucket load of them too. It would be a bad test to use them as they change every season.
@djtickle that's seems nice that we got a lot, but suck for those who want to play with the modifiers off now. we will be stuck with crippled striker and St. Elmos. Thank you for the testing, tho, but it's safe to say that my striker will be in the trash as well as my true patriot team buff build. 😞
How bad are the nerfs? They're bad enough for me to stop playing to wait for D3. I'm done with games that you spend tons of time grinding to boost your expertise just to be nerfed back to where you started later on. On the other hand, if the nerfs aren't that bad, why was it necessary to do them in the first place?
I am PISSED about the nerfs. And not just to Striker and St Elmo. Nearly EVERY SINGLE BUILD I use regularly is getting nerfed. Also, I only just a week or two ago FINALLY got my St Elmo to level 26. And now they're basically knocking all that grinding right off the top in one fell swoop. What is the point of even grinding anything in this game? Why grind the perfect pieces for your build, then grind for materials to recalibrate/optimize them, and GRIND GRIND GRIND GRIIIIIIIIIIND exotic components to build up expertise levels on your pieces to squeeze every drop of utility our of your build, if they can just come along and nerf it out of nowhere? It makes me not want to even play the game anymore.
EB buffed yet again and elmo nerfed lol, nothing about it is unique other than talent, all mods are the same as EB, Elmo should at least keep its 70 mag
So if the point of the modifiers is to make us stronger, they could have left everything they nerfed as they had been, and just lowered the modifier values to achieve the same thing without pissing people off.
I honestly think people are overreacting a bit. Even before seeing the numbers, the info they gave us werent that drastic. Im disappointed that striker is getting a nerf but at the same time i over have one loadout that uses the backpack so no real biggy
Instead of nerfing our current gear/guns, why don’t they nerf the seasonal modifiers? I don’t trust it - reason you put on long range modifier and NPC will also rush you. And vice versus. We seen it too many times in Global Events

Chest: 2.3=2.645
Pack+Obliterate: 1.85×1.17=2.489
Pack: 1.85=2.1275
Base: 1.65=1.8975
Heartbreaker (not including 15% AR/LMG):
Chest+PUF: 2.3×1.35=3.105
Chest+Vigilance: 2.3×1.25=2.875
PGC+Vigilance: 1.3×1.25×1.65=2.68125
Chest=2.3
Base=1.65
Based on these multipliers, Striker still outperforms Heartbreaker by quite a bit on the higher end and at base because of its RPM buff, which is multiplicative to rate of damage.
I got you 👍
@@djtickle will see, while it seems small on paper might not be as small in reality, with bullet sponges, extra reload is a bad. Buff the other gear leave the one it's there intact especially in PVE
People are so mad over nothing in my opinion. Most of these changes seem great to me. Great video man!
I just wish they didn’t nerf anything and just buff what they said .
Yeah bring things up!
I’ve been running a 6 blue striker with striker chest and memento backpack, and from what I understand the nerf is only specific to the striker backpack, so there’s that
Edit: after watching the footage, it looks like the striker nerf wasn’t egregiously bad. It’s still very much good. I’m just gutted about the ouroboros and St Elmo’s nerfs, they didn’t deserve them. Though I guess I can see the Elmo’s nerf? They want to promote the new exotic AR, which does sound very promising
True Patriot really needed a look at to be competitive with other sets
Yeah it really did
They just need to make the base buffs the backpack %(except armor regen) and make the armor regen per bullet instead of per second and that would make it a lot better.
Thanks for the video DJ 👍
No problem 👍
A lot of people use Strikers, Grupo chest with Obliterate, and St Elmos all in one build. Then I switch back and forth to my Ouroboros
Yup me too!
We will see.🤷♂️
Good work sir! As always!
Yeah its a rough change tbh
Wonder if there’s going to be an in game explanation- maybe audio or cut scene based to explain the sudden ISAC upgrade? Aside from that though - if we’re aligning with keener - when will we get access to the hacker pulse🤷♂️
With the latest news they just made it easier for me to continue shelfing the game and playing other games since i wont be missing much and dont want to feel nerfed on my main character that i been playing farming snd upgrading since day 1. Easy pass for me. Devs team are clueless and dont care about the community that supported them
My strikers build still melts
This patch is still in testing its not live yet.
They tried to pull everything in line. Just shows how strong the stuff they nerfed was. Obliterate was a bit excessive, but what other chest talent were people using aside from intimidate? Glass rarely with experienced players. I can say some are definitely disappointing, but understandable from a unbiased perspective.
St Elmo's you can destroy stuff so fast that's at rifle range. I get the nerf. There really wasn't a choice to not use it before
I don’t think anything was “out of line”.

Yeah :/
It was going to be a different mode like permanent death the only difference was the power u gain can transfer over to your regular character's
The Scorpio nerf is even more idiotic too. Tons of shots just to take advantage of what's it is meant to do. It went from top to bottom of the barrel for sure

Yes I'll have out a lot more over the weekend 👍
It's probably better for you to test it in the open world as well as the firing range, you can't get a true performance result from just the range
How about running Foxes Prayer vs Grupo??
I’m so glad the Rav and EB got buffs. Sad that strikers got nerfed (Strikers EB is honestly better than Elmo’s striker imo) but that does give an opportunity for other things to shine.

It was always so sad that we could never choose to play with them before this update. So frustrating, right?

Huh. Still respectable damage, even if all of these got a slight hammering.
Pretty neat.
They are also buffing all/almost all of the weapon attachments.
While I agree with you that 6% per shot doesn't seem that bad, add it all up over the life of a mob and talk about TTK, including the slower ramp up time. I personally will use anything they give me because it's fun, but I'm just saying... I think the nerf was the wrong move here. Tux had a good solution, but me, I just play the game. Even if people leave, I'll still be around with my under-expertised gear shooting mobs for the enjoyment.
So, in fact, Strikers + Elmo will be 12% better with the global modifier than it was before the update. People need to stop whining.
Yeah they wont feel it this season due to the modifier. Maybe next thou
The build that everyone will use is a 4-5 blue core strikers build with a shield. Watch. So much for build diversity. 😂
Why would people swap in more blue cores if they are dropping roughly 5-6% DPS between the brand, gear & weapon nerfs? Your comment makes no sense at all.
The scorpio nerf is the worst part.
Yeah it weird. Not sure how it helps anything

If players look at it the nerfs that are happening you can gain back in modifiers acquired which in turn increase your agents dmg output
So that has ruined it for people wanting to do the Incursion!!!!!
To be honest I couldn’t care less about strikers. People need to try other weapons and builds. There’s lots to choose from.
Strikers nerf wasn’t working on the PTS.
Correct it was still set at 1%
so instead of buffing the weaker gear they nerfed the best setup nice. always buff never nerf that's how it should be.

How easy do you want this game to be???
I holistically agree 😂

@@Clyde44ok, if that is true, then what is the goal of the modifiers?
this is going to have them a lot negative feedback
How bad are the nerfs? They're bad enough for me to stop playing to wait for D3. I'm done with games that you spend tons of time grinding to boost your expertise just to be nerfed back to where you started later on.
On the other hand, if the nerfs aren't that bad, why was it necessary to do them in the first place?
I’ve already put my Striker in my stash, it’s a damn shame.
Damm 😭
What smart game dev says hey, let's nerf thr most popular gear set and weapon. That will make players happy. So fucking stupid
you can really tell who the Ubisoft cult members are in the comments.
Why is that?
I absolutely agree with this, I said the same thing.
@@martinmiller3765 exactly. It’s a way to look like they are delivering value rather than actually delivering value.

Instead of nerfing our current gear/guns, why don’t they nerf the seasonal modifiers? I don’t trust it - reason you put on long range modifier and NPC will also rush you. And vice versus. We seen it too many times in Global Events
Not only that but if you read the patch notes there will be hostile modifiers to do exactly what you’re saying. The testing he did is inconclusive.
